If you have the funds get both. I was not into them as a purist but loved it when I tried one. Don't let your pride get in the way of having a good time.

I am 60 years old and still ride traditional. I still like the feel of accomplishment of clearing a techy climb or completing a long climb or ride, and since I ride solo most of the time, nobody has to wait for me.

100% agree. I’m only 43 but I’m a Force Recon Vet and contractor who has gotten blown up a few times lol. Still in shape but have aches and pains from the trauma my body has taken over the years So for me an EMTB puts the fun back into mountain biking and makes it more of an exploration type thing instead of a gut check while still burning cals.

I just went over 10,000 miles on my Trek Rail 5 eMTB, I am 68 years old, I no longer have to over-exert myself. :) Riding into an UPHILL berm, while accelerating, is exhilarating. You've go to try it, ha.

I have both. I ride a Pivot Switchblade “regular” bike and I have a Yeti 160E electric bike. Every week my first ride is on the regular bike. It’s taking me at least 2 days recovery now after using my own power. Now, with the e-bike I can ride on my recovery days. I never allow myself more than 2 rides in a row on the e-bike, then get back on the non-powered bike. I get the best of both worlds. I get the sense of accomplishment of the hard climb, AND more total days of riding. People just need to chill out.

Mate, I am like you 😢 so I decided to go for an elite, which is only 17kg in weight, but the motor is the Bosch SX mid-torque. This is the way forward best of both worlds ❤ laters 😀

me 2 1988-2024 =68 yrs old bike trance X Manitou shocks front and rear 2.6 tires // I am the horse ,e-bike is just another upgrade just like pedals or rockshox dropper post all that ,STUFF, the only thing that matters is that they got the geometry right, except one thing the bottom brackets are too low that's just because people ride these on Fufu trails the bottom brackets are too low because it's an off-road vehicle the rocks are coated with aluminum.long live the bomb squad.

Hello Bumstead's Bicycles. I am a 13 year old who has been trying for ages to save up enough money ever since to get my dream bike. It's the Maniacc Flyer and I was really hoping if I could do some video editing, thumbnails, or posters probably for the bike at a discount or gifted to me probably? I would like to use the bike to start content creating since all im stuck with is walmart bikes and I dont think they will help me improve as everytime I crash they just break completely. Please consider 🙏🙏

@@pumpkindero it’s great that you are working to save the money for a bike! We have someone that does our social media work for us but it is awesome that you are asking for work , keep it up the money will come and you will appreciate the bike so much more because you earned it.

I got an e-bike because I'm fat and I can't peddle well I mean I could peddle, but I'm fat and I get winded, and I'm going to be truthful, I'm just pure out lazy, I'd rather eat a Big Mac then ride a bike 🥺🥺🥺🥺

IMO, 1 bike only with a $6000+ budget I'd get a mid power eMTB over an unpowered bike. You can set the motor to feel like a normal MTB so you can get your exercise, but you have the option to turn it "on" so you can go farther, or bail out if you're far from the car and want any easy way back. And it feels like a normal bike while riding. I didn't like the full power bikes because it felt like a moto.

100% my Summit 1 on eco mode level 1 basically just makes the bike feel like a normal bike.

I have been riding bicycles for 68 years and have not been on an Ebike yet. I still pedal over 2K mountainous miles a year and I don't consider using an Ebike to be cycling. If old age forces me to use one I will no longer call myself a cyclist but a rider.
