There are extremely rare Skylanders unique to Imaginators. Custom Imaginators are 3D printed figures with NFC tech built in. You made these using the Skylanders Imaginators app that no longer exists and then you'd wait a few months for them to ship. Each custom and usable figure cost 50 bucks and had the option to have a custom card with another NFC chip inside. I say this because I have one and this vid reminded me of it.
You could also make them in-game and order them online that way.
The app still works, I use it on my android. but I make my own NFC cards (the online store is just not active anymore)

i know SCL Matt is looking for one of the cards as one of the only 8 pieces his collection is missing
So, the reason normal Chompy Mage is so expensive is because he was originally only released in an Amazon Bundle with characters that had already come out in a previous wave, so people more than likely already had those characters and didn't want to dish out extra money for duplicates which led to scalping in the first place.

Although toys to life was the gimmick of the series and it was fun back in the day, with the ridiculous price of literally everything these days I think the toys to life gimmick should not come back.
But I think a New game in the series is not a bad idea, this is still a world with a set of characters that people grew up with, even without the money from toys I think a New skylanders game could make a lot of money from game sales alone

Its mostly just nostalgia for people as skylanders is already like 10 years old already.
I believe they said that there wont be any more MAINLINE skylanders games, so at most we'd get some spinoff.
Then again they might just merge skylanders into something else and then say "oh no its not skylanders its something new!".

How dare you call Broccoli Guy “Brocolli Man”!!!!!!!! JK, but I love their commentating on the arena battles.Also, the “abilities” you unlock from Soul Gems are called Soul Gem Upgrades. And the “abilities” that you buy with gold are called upgrades. Other than that, I think you did a decent job.
I played it on Wii U in December 2016-January 2017. I got my Switch in April 2017 so I should've waited for the Switch version.
Had issue with the game making the Sensei's and Imaginators over powered on purpose. Made the older Skylanders obsolete, even though some still hold up like Trigger Happy.

Skylanders is my childhood, I played Giants to Imaginators but didn't beat imaginators yet. I'm currently playing my games again and wished on my X-mas list that I want Spyro's adventure.
I like the toys to life conspet and sad to see if go years back. I didn't get Imaginators on switch, so I didn't know about these changes
P.S. I do like the concept of Imaginators but with the story for Imaginators did feel kinda strange, Skylanders Academy show going around the same time trying to implement some important characters as narrators, it didn’t feel right
I think the one thing skylanders Imaginators did right was the original skylanders. It easily has my favorite original skylanders in the whole series, and the creation gimmic is so much fun (just wish you could reset them without abusing a glitch). Although, my top two favorite skylanders also just so happen to be two of the big three, so the skylanders definitely price people out of the game…
This game is my jam, I play every night still to this day -- and yes, it is expensive o.o I'm also on the switch. I made my own custom nfc card for my crystal character... he lives on permanently lol
I have Skylanders Imaginators on the old Wiiu but since Imaginators looks sooo good on the switch I’ve been looking everywhere in trying to find the game only I already have the Skylanders figures.

For me I have the switch version of imaginators and the good thing about this game was I was able to preserve my old collection and my friends collections and then was able to sell most of mine afterwards so in that case it was good and this is the most definitive way to play any of the games now that the tablet versions are no longer supported and the other versions don’t have this saved library feature glad I got it when I did bc if I got it now I would have to take out a loan just to get another copy lmao
Fun Fact! Skylanders wasn't the first game to be in the Toys to Life genre! That title actually belongs to UB Funkeys, created by Mattel and Arkadium! It was made in 2007 and was discontinued in 2010. Granted, they didn't have groundbreaking save data with NFC that the Skylanders figurines have! If you want to be super technical, the founding father of this genre technically belongs to R.O.B. in the NES era. Thought I'd share :)
Shame it isn't on the Estore I didn't know the switch version saved figures like that, thats pretty cool. Think Skylanders also had mobile and pc versions, but i've never tried them.

The figures cost so much because of supply and demand, and because when you buy a costly figure chances are that you can get your money back or even make more when selling it again.

I miss Skylanders dude… It is in my top 10 favorite franchises dare I say top 5. I hope they at least do a Remaster at some point.

Yeah most skylanders fans have imaginators as their least favorite with a few exceptions (Cloudbreaker, SGTV)

Imaginators feels slow and boring, but I don't remember the older games because I was too young when playing so it is fun till you get too bored of it

Everyone saying all the other skylanders from different games are “obsolete” yeah no. The imaginators and senseis make the game way too easy even on nightmare. If you want to play a fun challenging game then use your old skylanders. Spy rise has the best move set imo such a good character lol

I never got to play a Skylanders game. My parents never bought me the game growing up and now i my mid 20's people are asking for ridiculous prices that don't seem worth the money in todays economy.
I have paid 20$ for this game it includes 4 figures, the cortex crash, donkey Kong and Bowser this year.

It's a shame the devs went too far with their ambitions for Imaginators. The amount of collabs, plus the ability to add content in updates, could have done what Fortnite is doing, but way better due to being lore accurate
Ok so there is a lot of misconception with the bowser and DK figures. You CAN use them on something other than the switch, however its very very annoying and I don't think they are as good as they are on switch.
Even knowing the difference between the Switch & WiiU version the portability of the Switch version isn't worth hundreds of dollars. Also while the vehicles from Superchargers work on the WiiU version, they're too big to be detected by the Switch's NFC Reader. So in mine (& Scott the Woz's) opinion, The WiiU would actually be the best version of the game since Bowser & DK won't work on the Xbox or PlayStation version.
Can you play the game on handheld mode?
Yes if you want to know how you scan in the figures and after that you have them in a virtual portal thingy and you don’t have to scan them in anymore
Yeah imaginaters was a disappointment I really had fun creating my own Skylanders but after that I cant say much good about it.

alot of the skylanders are worth 15$ all the way up to 400$ anything more and they are ripping you off. they are no longer in production and the later the game the rarer the figure. i may or may not start collecting these starting with imaginators first and working my way to ssa but it really depends if im willing to drop a couple thousand for the figures.

For me Disney is the real guilty of the dead of skylanders and toys to life concept if they didn’t launch Disney infinity Skylanders will probably still alive today Disney and Lego have cause a maker saturation in the toys to life concept if they didn’t exist and skylanders was the only in the concept it could have work very well even today and also if activision didn’t launch a game every the games should at least have a 2 year interval between them
