Enjoyed this video, you gave me some great ideas. I’m new to FN and loving them for commonplace, documenting daily doings, and ideas for my writing. No issue with subtitles 😊
@@karinbara4537 I’m so glad you enjoyed this one. I just got my latest Field Notes quarterly drop, so I’ll be doing another one. That is kind of the fun of the subscription. They give me the opportunity to creatively think of how to use them. Again, I so appreciate you watching and being a little part of your notebook journey!
@@havefunbesafe Yes, I have used the Pen&Gear brand at Walmart for a little over $1 each (www.walmart.com/ip/Pen-Gear-Memo-Book-4x6-Narrow-Ruled-80-Sheets-Black-Spiral-Bound-Paper-Cover/381102578). The drawbacks I experienced were: 1. The coils smashed down very quickly preventing pages from turning and the pen from being able to be stored. 2. The paper was very cheap and using a fountain pen was out of the question. 3. The only option was ruled and I prefer plain or dot grid. But, yes, purely on price you can do better.
There is something valuable about loose sheets. Like Sam Altman said, the value is stacking, sorting, and putting them into their proper place within your work. Keep doing what works!
Honestly field notes are not worth it unless you have the spare cash. Yes they have some great looking covers, but that’s about it. I’ve found notebooks in my local bookshop and on Amazon which are pretty identical for 1/3 the price. It’s just not worth it.
@@AmsNl2BcnEs it’s definitely not the most practical or pragmatic solution. The quality can be found in other cheaper brands. But the creativity and the company behind the product is kind of fun to support, and pay the premium. It’s definitely not my daily rider though.
An incredible number of viewers, especially younger viewers, watch videos without the volume on. That's why. We might change our minds in the future. Sorry, they bothered you so.
@@billricestrategyAlso when English isn’t your first language like for my case the subtitles also makes it easier to understand! My English is fine now but in the past it really helped me to improve my English to have the subtitles on ( and some people have havier accents 😅)
Accessibility too! I'm neurodivergent and find subs incredibly helpful. To reduce the distraction factor, maybe use white sans serif font? Great video thanks!

I’m curious, isn’t it much cheaper just to buy the 3 packs at your local retailer? Thx 🙏🏼

Yes it definitely is. Field notes is 3x the price of an unbranded equiv.
Main appeal is that they are good quality and American made.
I'm always writing notes on scrap pieces of paper instead of using my notebook

Why the subtitles? Very distracting...
