Here are some very rare scenes from the benefit world movie premiere of Dirty Harry at Loews Theater in San Francisco, on December 22nd 1971. There are views of crowds cheering in the rain as guests arrive (including Mayor Joseph Alioto) and the film's star Clint Eastwood is seen being interviewed on a podium outside by KPIX's Rolf Peterson. Also features members of the Progressive Labor Party protesting against the film, one of whom is carrying a sign which reads: "Cops are no pals to Clarence Johnson." Ends with Peterson listing a few of the dignitaries who showed up despite bad weather, before wrapping up the story. Video originally aired on KPIX Eye on the Bay News [info copied from The Clint Eastwood Archive].
Hard to believe this was in 1971. Dirty Harry is still one of the most satisfying movies to watch. Clint Eastwood is my favorite actor.
Cool! Thank you for posting
Today in that cesspool called Frisco, Harry would be charged with murder for killing a misunderstood hippie named Scorpio
The Zodiac killer was bases for Scorpio he wasn't misunderstood unless your retarded 😂
The movie theater's marquee when Soiled Harold shoots the bank robbers in the car and he walks up to the robber on the ground has Play Misty For Me on it.
(Spoiler) Wearing the same suit he had on when he shot Scorpio !
Exactly and I think coogans bluff too
They don’t make journalists like Rolfe Peterson anymore.
The guy with the microphone looks like a young Anthony Fauci.
I heard San Fran is a cesspool
No a shit hole
Yep
The commierats are in charge of commifornia! They have set the house on fire and are watching it burn down from inside the house! Lots of the state are 3rd world countries like
50+ years ago it was a really happenin' place...that said, parts of SF are still cool to visit, (just don't live there) however, just north of SF along the coast is beautiful...great weather for those who prefer cooler climates.
