Happy New Year. Been real busy doing CW Traffic Nets, I am running Net control for Glenn while he is gone. Really helping my paddle and conversational CW skills come up to speed. Ran during 1900 CWOps on Christmas, went pretty good. See you out there.
@@JayN4GO I haven’t compared it to a dipole anchored near the top of the tower, but it does seem to perform better than one I had anchored at 25ft. Despite being shortened, being able to steer the d40 likely helps. The tower is a Wade DMXHD-48N. The manufacturer used to be called Delhi Towers, and they are probably the most common towers used by Canadian hams.

@@stevej5905 I’ve never done a traffic net before. It is interesting?
HNY, Jay! Thanks for the Q. It was a slog up here in 1900 session. 0300 was a bit better.
1900 was useless 🤣
Are you still running the d40 ? I wondered how you liked the antenna
Yes, the d40 works well! I'd love to have 2 elements, but my tower tops out at 9 sq ft. With the KT34m2 and D40, I'm at just under 6.
@ I’ve wondered how the compare against and inverted V at that height. It would be nice to turn them. Is that a bx tower you have Dave ?
