I am 70 and a little noise is okay, but when on a long trip the quietness of a muffler is extremely nice. 😊 Have a safe trip moving to California. God will lead you in the path that He has for you. Putting God first then family is most important. I know that you will be doing more diesel repairs and builds. 😊
I'll be 44 in a couple weeks, and I have a resonator and muffler on my 444 Ex. And a turn down keeps everything clean. Honestly the PDD air filter makes the intake loud.
Im 29 gonna be 30 soon... I've got two 2012 dodges one with a 2nd gen swap one stock but deleted both straight piped and wouldn't change it i love the noise i also spend many hours in cabs of loud tractors and absolutely love it we've got a versatile on the farm with a n14 cummins i could fall asleep to the sound of that thing running.
I daily drive a 05 5.9 with stock turbo. Chopped the muffler off 14 years ago, welded one back on 2 years ago. I got tired of keeping Tylenol in the console. Definitely a fan of the muffler, especially when towing with a 48re. *34
@@TheFiremanJoeyeah but when you are towing heavy and running beside those concrete barriers at night with the windows down it does sound damn good! Lol
When I bought my 2012 ram I saw it had a muffler on I thought "i gotta rip that off" 6 years later I'm about ready to put a new one on. Big difference between 24 and 42 for me. Early 20's my regular cab 1st gen had 5" stacks and let freedom ring. Few years later my 99 dually had a dual 4" exhaust out the back no muffler. Getting old sucks.
😊😊😊😊😊😊 thank you for the nice video. Thank you for your time and effort for putting it all together 10 out of 10 I have an 06 Dodge 3501 ton diesel with a flatbed. I’m 37 and have 4” exhaust no muffler and Kc jet fire. I like it loud but on the fence for getting muffler and tail pipe to swap on and off for when I tow camp trailer. I’m sure campgrounds won’t like the whistle and the rumble
Ive used this cheapo muffler on my 08 cummins. Now I have banks monster muffler on my 14 cummins and it sounds way nicer! More rumble at idle but almost stock quiet on the freeway with a 5th wheel RV.
37 almost, I have a 07 5.9 soon to be 6.7 swapped but haul a 14k loaded toy hauler.. I have a bullet resonator and a muffler on a 5” set up. As my truck is down I’m borrowing a bone stock 18 3500 ram and I do love how quiet it is 😅
I’m 33, I went to the dealership with my father as a kid, back in 03 to pick up his 04 king ranch F350 dually. Well I was only about 12 at the time, and from that day on…let’s say caught “the bug.” 3 years later I remember helping him slip in a 4 inch down pipe,”which just fit” than following that up with a straight 5”all the way out! I still have the pleasure of hearing that truck, and I have to say, no muff! Let her breathe!!!
I am 33 and daily drove a single turbo 6.4 with a bed stack for years. Tried a muffler, ended up taking it back off within a few weeks. That being said, having my quiet 6.7 is really nice, especially on long commutes and trips.
I'm 43 and my 5.9 and 6.7 cummins trucks both have mufflers. Although I do tow regularly with both, and I know a cross country road trip is for the birds with that exhaust drone the whole way. Safe travels and looking forward to the road trip adventure content. I'll be sad to see the WOT shop footage go. Does David have plans to start making content or is he busy enough running the shop and keeping his truck together racing?

For a daily/work truck/tow truck no shame in having a muffler. Got a 6.7 third gen that’s straight piped (because it was cheapest) that pretty much gets used as a long haul farm truck (95% of the miles on it are road trips 10+ hours long). Every time I drive it I wish there was a muffler on it. That being said I have a 08 mega cab that makes around 700 wheel that’s also straight piped. I drive it on weekends in the summer only. Maybe a few thousand miles a year. And that truck I wouldn’t put a muffler on if you paid me too. Second Gen swap and 4000 rpm hard limiter helps with the not wanting a muffler. If I had a 6.0 it would definitely get driven pretty similar to the mega and wouldn’t be getting a muffler. Definitely understandable putting one on for road trips
Just turned 40, both my trucks are straight piped, don't tow though. 6.7 swapped with a straight 4 inch, my 5.9 truck is 5 inch straight piped. If you want a quiet exhaust the obvious solution is add another turbo! Come on man lol.
Straight pipe all day. I have a 05 5.9 with 5” straight pipe and a 19 f150 ecoboost. I hate driving my quiet ford and always prefer my loud ass dodge. 34 years old and I’ll never grow up haha
If 25 if I'm driving more than 4 hours I pull the straight pipe out of my truck and toss the muffler in. But I take it back out when I'm home, I can stand the straight pipe, but my wife hates it 😂
Honestly the drone of a straight pipe in general just gets old after a couple years of driving without a muffler lol. I want a custom exhaust tone not constant drone.
In Cali you cant get have much other than stock. Not sure you realize how bad it will be when you get settled in Cali. The only state more strict than NY when it comes to driving.
*35…for that long of a trip, muffler for sure. Butttt I think id be yanking it off when you get there. But then again it is California, doubt the law there appreciates straight piped anything 😆

After a few years of rollin around with a straight piped Cummins I had to put a muffler in last year. That thing was so loud, especially towing!

Towing... that's where it gets unbearable. 👍

I was about to put a muffler on but put compound turbos on instead. It's the best of both, quiet and powerful.
