Thanks for all the great shows, all the great songs.....Thank you South........
I love this guy! Have seen him more times than I can count. To add to his story, he actually brought Jon Bon Jovi to one of the Jukes' gigs at Valley Forge Music Fair outside Philadelphia back when Jon was still a teenager. Jon had long silky hair and the widest smile I'd ever seen, and he was on stage with the band. He played maybe 2 of his own songs, and the rest Jukes songs. The audience was split between Baby Boomers there to see Southside, and teenaged girls there to see Jon. (I was in the former category.)
A great man and super vocalist.
Live long and prosper J man...I have been a fan for 40 years.
One of the greatest bands in the history of music and widely overlooked by people too programmed by mainstream music.
The most fun you will ever have watching a live band.
Johnny is someone I dug from jump street. His first two albums are still killers. His voice was great for what he
was singing and I wanted to hear more of his harp playing. There are a few performers that I want to support and
hope their careers keep going, Al Kooper and Peter Wolf are two who immediately come to mind, but Johnny is
at the top of my list. This is an intelligent and well conducted interview.
Saw him and the AJ's when they came to Cardiff, Wales,UK..in the middle 70's...completely swept away....the tightest band and..emotion!!! Still love him today.
Seen Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes well over 100 times. Many different versions of the Asbury Jukes but the one thing that stayed the same is Southside Johnny. If they do put him on the curb when he passes, that street better be renamed Southside Johnny Way.
Very interesting interview...Cudos to both Johns!
southside you deserve more worldwide recognition..your music is fantastic ..
You are so right
Knebworth England, Aug 79 supporting Led Zeppelin, SSJ & t AJ's set included a jaw dropping version of the 007 James Bond theme, completely blew me away, unforgettable...👍😊
I think you’re fantastic, Mr. Lyon! ❤️ You can out-sing and out perform Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi any day of the week.
I always say, one of his gigs is the best fun you can have with your clothes on.... and in a lot of cases, better than taking your clothes off! Always come out with a HUGE grin. Why he isn't the biggest star I just don't know.
Huge fan and this is a great interview.
Just saw Southside at MPAC and he and his band gave another great concert!
Great guy and loved him since I was a student which wasn’t yesterday 🤦♂️😂
Good time music!!!
Should have been a Wilbury.
Today we green burial decomposed in the earth got it get it songs are eternal as is the sounds emotional commentary
Honest music!
Man he nailed this interview. He has more talent than Bon Jovi and Bruce in my opinion. His voice is real as well as his music. Being from Wall i wont hold that he was from Neptune!!! Bad ass music. I hope i can see him play one day. Legend.
I love southside but better then the boss? Bon jovi has a better voice .
Southside still my favourite out of these three.
Glad to hear him admit Trash It Up sucked.
I was born in Passaic New Jersey in 1960. I was always a bigger fan of Johnny than Bruce Springsteen. Johnny has soul and is more down to earth and intelligent. The Springsteen fans were always the tough Italian guys who drove Camaros and Firebirds. Springsteen fans were douche bags. Johnny fans were real musicians.
That's right Johnny!!! Disco still sucks!!
