Great song - I first heard it on the Smothers Brothers' album "Curb your tongue Knave" as a young boy in the 60s. Only much later did I realize Clint Eastwood sang it originally in PYW.
Most people have no idea that Client Eastwood sung this song. He did a very good job and was the right man to sing it. The words are beautiful and has a great deal of meaning to me. Thank you.
This song just took me back 36 years.. I was in my bedroom slow dancing with my girlfriend and singing (not too well by the way) I talk to the trees by Clint Eastwood. I was 17 and she was 15. My old bedroom is now my computer room and my wife just this second walked in and I said look what I have been listening to. She said let me listen and then said, I love this song. she also remembered that I was dancing with her and singing this to her all that time ago. As she was listening to it I was tempted to sing along but I didn't want to kill the moment.
Not only do I love this song, but what you have managed to capture with your visuals is just pure art in its finest form. You have blended the words, the music, and the flow of images into a beautiful symphony for the senses. The Universe would be proud. Thanks!
Not such a bad singer is the 'old' Clint eh? Not too bad at all. This movie had me follow the same path as a young person. I very much lived and still to a degree, live the same lifestyle as the movie shows. Not all the razmataz but just the love of the bush or wilderness and of the simpler lifestyle it brings. What I look forward to most is when the winter is coming and I go out into the forests woodcutting and always find that stunning beauty and solitude there. Heaven.
I didn't notice if anyone else made the comment about how you rearranged/engineered/pitch-corrected Clint and the original song to sound even better than in the movie track. That is the best tribute to his role in that film, and I thank you for all your hard work sir!)) I arrange things as a hobby, and know that there is a lot involved in doing soundtracks, mastering vocals, and all the rest. Well done)
Always loved this movie. I think it's a good, funny movie. I couldn't believe it either when I found out that these guys could sing! Mon told me that she and dad would even hear "I Was Born Under a Wandering Star" and this song on the radio all the time when after the movie came out.
I talk to the trees But they don't listen to me I talk to the stars But they never hear me The breeze hasn't time To stop and hear what I say I talk to them all in vain But suddenly my words Reach someone else's ears Touch someone else's heartstrings, too I tell you my dreams And while you're listening to me I suddenly see them come true I can see us on an April night Sipping brandy underneath the stars Reading poems in the candlelight To the strumming of guitars I will tell you all the books I've read And the way I met the King of France Then I'll send the servants off to bed And I'll ask you for a dance But suddenly my words Reach someone else's ears Touch someone else's heartstrings, too I tell you my dreams And while you're listening to me I suddenly see them come true
Paint Your Wagon was really looked down upon when it came out by a lot of people - which I think is a shame because I think, in some ways, it is a masterpiece with lots of wonderful music - of which this is an example.
The funniest thing i ever saw was the muppets show in about 1983 ... they did this scene and "i talk to the trees but they don't listen to me" ... and all the trees got up and walked out. It was so funny.
This footage is very nice, and the lyrics are nice and his voice is damn good. *However*, this film should not exist. Clint, Lee.... how could you?! Tough guys don't make musicals, and this musical sucked.
marsflamesniper I also never said anything about enjoying them. I'm macho and I like some musicals. I just don't like this one and I hate seeing classic though guys prance around and sing about sensitive things and trees and shit... Its just weird.

Clint's voice is so genuine and so pleasant. He could have been a successful singer if he wished.

awwww omg that makes me sad
A trick: watch series on flixzone. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies lately.
@Fox Braydon Definitely, I've been watching on Flixzone} for years myself =)

I love his voice and singing 💘
Absolutely lovely. ❤️
One of the two funniest movies I have ever seen! I still chuckle when I see it, loved the songs especially by "Rotten Luck Willie" and Lee Marvin.

Maravillosa melodía,por algo este es el álbum que más le gustaba a mi papá

Watching the Bing Crosby show brought me here. Absolutely beautiful ! I had forgotten about this ballad. Thank you for posting!

Beautiful video
I talk to the trees
But they don't listen to me
I talk to the stars
But they never hear me
The breeze hasn't time
To stop and hear what I say
I talk to them all in vain
But suddenly my words
Reach someone else's ears
Touch someone else's heartstrings, too
I tell you my dreams
And while you're listening to me
I suddenly see them come true
I can see us on an April night
Sipping brandy underneath the stars
Reading poems in the candlelight
To the strumming of guitars
I will tell you all the books I've read
And the way I met the King of France
Then I'll send the servants off to bed
And I'll ask you for a dance
But suddenly my words
Reach someone else's ears
Touch someone else's heartstrings, too
I tell you my dreams
And while you're listening to me
I suddenly see them come true
קולו של לי מרווין מרגש אותי ומעביר בי צמרמורות מאז ששמעתי אותו לראשונה ועד היום הזה...
Beautiful video and song =)
AND he could sing too. Heard him doing so in the musical which was nice too

Tough guys don't make musicals, and this musical sucked.
'tough guys don't make musicals' you're one of the many wrong things with the world. Stop sterotyping. You can be 'macho' and enjoy a musical
marsflamesniper this is a horrible film. It is literally painful to watch.
+Harry Balzak ---i felt that this musical was a good one.

Harry Balzak this was a great movie. Perhaps you just did not like it.
