When I wake up here lately I have doing a min or 2 of grounding, followed by a little calisthenics workout, some Wim Hof breathing and a cold shower. Generally about 3-5 times a week I just turn the cold all the way up and enjoy an incredibly refreshing shower.

It’s interesting how the positive effects actually get more noticeable over time, at least in my case. After just a week of taking a cold shower everyday, you‘ll not only have felt the benefits of that dopamine spike, you also start to feel more energized and resilient overall. Step by step, you learn to cope with stress (mental and physical) in a more comfortable way and overcome psychological barriers.
Now, I’m going to start an ice bath routine after having been familiar with cold exposure for a while, as someone who has always happily _avoided_ the cold. If I can do it, you can do it too

Is a herxheimer reaction possible after a cold shower? I became extremely sick after finishing my shower with 5 minutes of cold water. I initially felt great, my neuropathy pain dramatically decreased but within a short amount of time my ears began to ring, I shook internally, muscles locked up, and then anxiety was terrible. What on earth happened?? Was it a herx or is this not good for someone with HPA dysregulation and other health issues?

On a certain level, we have a drug store in our brain, the neurochemicals that show up in the cold: so dopamine, norepinephrine, anandamide, endorphins, and serotonin. If you were to try to cocktail the street drug version of that, right, you're trying to blend like heroin and speed and coke and acid and weed- and point is, you can't do it. It turns out the cold can cocktail all of 'em at once, which is why people will prefer the cold to almost any experience on Earth. It's our favorite experience. It's the most addictive experience on Earth. Why? 'Cause it cocktails five or six of the largest pleasure drugs the cold can produce. We're all capable of so much more than we know. That is a commonality across the board. And one of the big reasons is we're all hardwired for the cold, and the cold is a massive amplification of what's possible for ourselves.

Is there any evidence providing insights into central dopamine surges (e.g., in rodent models) after cold-water exposure? Peripherally-circulating catecholamines have very different roles (e.g., dopamine and blood pressure control) than their central nervous system counterparts and unfortunately, this limits how these findings from the Smarek paper can be interpreted.

Here's a trick folks give me a like. Go to the song berserk featuring Iceman. When it's first starts up you wait until you can talking in the song starts hitting and the chest in and you slapping water on your shoulders your unpits on the back and rub yourself vigorously on your crotch rub it vigorously. Two before the song starts up pumping to you liquid soap on your hands tackles two birds with one stone. Once then the song stops during the first half it'll start to talk that's when you back away from cold water and then turn around with the back against the cold water you wait till the song hits and then you plunge yourself into the cold water and and then you start headbanging playing the air guitar and just put all your forefront focus on all the bad stuff stuff you had that has happened to you. Over the whole entire life you just put that in your forefront of your mind and you get angry. And you do this for two song loops so here's the even more once you get really accustomed to it like after like like a week or two weeks into it during another part with the song starts to die out out in the second half and the person starts talking that's what you flip around and you scrub yourself again and put water on your face and keep doing that over and over and over again and then you flip back around listen to the song again with the second time time in a row this song is the best song to listen to when having a cold shower trust me

I did cold showers for a month, until my lower back started hurting so bad I could barely walk. Yeah, cold showers are life changing.

Okay... So I can just stay in the shower at around 25°C before getting hyperthermic? (Max is 35°C, I think..)
    35°C is 90°F,
    25°C is 77°F.
(Am I getting something wrong btw?)

I experienced COVID that lasted around 12 days. At first, I believed I was fine but I started to lose more hair than normal. After doing some research, I've come to realize it’s from the stress my body went through during that time and also due to the shampoo that I was using. So I began doing yoga and meditation everyday and changed my shampoo and conditioner to littleextrraa coooconion anti hair fall kit. And now i dont face any hairfall.
Thanks for this video! I feel so much more at peace.

No kidding. It's like a line without the loss of control or addiction. I like to start with a hot shower and the last 120 seconds are straight cold without transition. Nothing beats that rush. I felt crappy with the flu and now I'm breathing easier with more energy and a returned appetite. I feel fresh and awake. There are diminishing returns with extended time, I would prefer a short period of ultra cold over a long slightly cool showers. Shock is the word of the day here.
