- Alta Via 1, a 75-mile hike in the Dolomites, Italy - #1 Lago di Braies to Rifugio Sennes. My first day on the Alta Via 1 trail started at Lago di Braies with a long steep climb to the Pass, Forcella Sora Forno. Then the landscape changed upon passing through Rifugio Biella with a gentle slope and flowery meadow. Finally, descend to Rifugio Sennes. My first day of Alta Via 1 was peacefully completed.

This was my very first longer distance trail and holds a special place in my heart. Thank you for making me able to relive it through your videos.
You also hiked AV1! It was a special journey to myself too! I love doing hut to hut hikes. Which other long distance hikes have you done?
Sunny I’m just now watching your videos. My two friends and I hiked the same days as you from Braies to Nuvolau. Thanks so much for the amazing video. Feels like I’m there again!
I remember meeting with you ladies! It was an amazing hike. Where are you going next?
I am going love these video series 🥺. While we were at it, we were exhausted. But looking back to these videos, is going to bring back the memories.
It was a challenging hike yet I love each moment ❤ The next one will be up on Friday!
That is so beautiful out there. Thank you for the video!!
Thank you for watching!
Amazing and beautiful video, perfect editing. Liked and subscribed😅😅😅
Thank you very much!! More videos from the Dolomites on the way!
Wow! So beautiful! That rock at 8:28, 😂
That rock was funny!
Fantastic videos. Congratulations 👏
Thank you so much!
Dear Sunny! I have to tanks for your video series. It' s very well edited and very useful. I have already watched a lot. I'm going to go along the AV1 in august. I booked accommodation in the huts. In your opinion, will I need a sleeping bag in the huts because as I saw every hut got blankets and pillows. Thank you in advance!
So exciting, you are doing AV 1 in August! You don't need a sleeping bag at the rifugios but you need to bring a sleeping bag liner. They don't wash the bedding every day, using a liner is must. I'm sure you'll have a great time in the Dolomites. Thank you for watching my videos!
@@AdventurewithSunny Thank you very much!
Beautiful video series!! I watched all of them and plan to hike next summer. A few questions please:
1) which navigation app did you download?
2) how did you filter drinking water
3) I do not want to take ferrata shortcut from Rifugio lagazoui to Staulanza. Is the trail well marked or were you navigating w a map app?
Thank you!!
I'm excited to know you are planning to hike AV1 next summer!
1)AV1 is well marked, but I used AllTrail app and make sure I was on the right trail time to time.
2) I carried Katadyn BeFree water filter but I only used a few times. Most of the rifugio had potable water, and there are some water fountains along the way.
3) I didn't do any via ferrata. There are always alternative trails, and trails are well marked. Of course, you can double check it with app too.
I'm sure you'll have a great time!
Love your AV1 video! Can I know when did you start booking the rifugios of your AV1 trekking? And how did you book them? TIA.
I started booking the rifugios in December last year, and mostly in January. I emailed each rifugio to request reservation. Then, waiting for their response. Most of the rifugios ask for a deposit, some takes credit cards, PayPal but some ask for a bank transfer… very old school 😅
@@AdventurewithSunny Thanks for your reply. I really enjoy watching your video especially the video highlight of the rifugios you stayed, the room/bed/toilet/bathroom/dining hall... Btw, Can I know how many days you took to complete your AV1 trek?
What month were you there?
Have you been to a place that gave you vertigo or claustrophobia?
I didn't have any vertigo or claustrophobia during this trip. I don't think I ever had vertigo...
What month were you there?
It was mid July
