Ever seen pets sit and spin around on those little automatic robot vacuum cleaners? Well, that. Bowser junior has a clown cart, Bowser has a little robot vacuum so he can tech roll.
In their defense, this get up attack from no tech situation is fairly new. If my memory serves me correctly it only started working this way in Smash Bros 64. I have no idea what the situation was for the smash bros interactions between the 63 that came before.
SoulofAlbedo I believe that attacking was only introduced in smash bros 27. Still a relatively new technique, considering that it came out only 300 years ago.
However, you forgot about the technique of hitting the controller out of your opponents hand. Gives about 60-120 extra frames of invincibility depends on there react time.
Yeah I think those people meant get up attack as in "get up out of your chair and attack your opponent irl". Completely different from a no tech get up attack. A very strong and underused strategy.
Honestly I appreciate videos like this. Instead of brushing off the comments at the beginning of your next video, you addressed them and explained why they're wrong! This way everybody learns and you stop getting comments. Win win
You might be a tad overly optimistic concerning that last point, given that this is the internet aka land of the goldfish. I'd give it 70-30 odds that this creates a meme and makes the problem worse then it was before. Granted, even in that case, this video will still have reached a few non-goldfish who are interested in the game like myself, so not a total loss.
I appreciate this video a lot, it gave such a quick and simple explanation of everything I've always wanted to know about teching / missed techs and all the exact frame counts. It may seem simple to an actual Smash player, but to a mostly casual player like me, this was very helpful. Whenever I search for this kind of stuff, I just end up on random pages that give very vague descriptions that assume you already know stuff and I never get my questions answered.
@@sparrow_solas nah. I was just bored and laying on my desk when I took this. This was from way back in highschool and I've been too lazy to change it. xD
Yeah sure, a neutral roll getup attack out of a tech is a perfectly valid option, but I think you're way better off going for a port-side reverse tech-chase from a ledge jump
You are an amazing individual, love your content. It makes it all that better that you look (and kind of act) like one of my friend's, so that always makes watching your videos more enjoyable
Better question: Can you influence DI so that: a) You don't need to tech as early b) Push yourself offstage c) Airdodge or Aerial spotdodge into a safe landing? You don't need to make a vid, if it's possible then we just need to DI properly to do so, as it would be useful to avoid these things. Thanks for your time GimR
Seriously was expecting a ground breaking get up attack meta but instead got a get up attack explanation... I'll take it. Always good to know more. :-)
Greninja can shadow sneak hit cancel immediately after the bounce when he misses tech btw gimr. Is he an exception to this rule, with mixups in place to make up for it like waiting for it to punish?
Isn't it exactly the same where shadow sneak doesn't come out until after the 25 frames, aka, after the bounces as you said? It's just a second kind of get up attack
I'm guessing, based on the switch's success, that there are a lot of new smashers for whom ultimate is their first smash game. So it's understandable that they might not understand some of the basic interactions.
The only practical use I can think of for getup attack is if you read their approach. Like they think you’re gonna roll away, but you get up attack. Also when Ganondorf does his side B, he might just sit there afterward and wait for you to tech. That would be a good time for a get up attack (although he might read the get up attack too)
I hate people who think they know so much and think they are so good at the game..........when in reality they just talk out of their asses because they have nothing better to do. Thanks Gimz for putting them in their place
I only use no tech options on platforms. Sometimes you can bait an attack and use get up invincibility or a get up attack if I don't have a quick enough punish option in mind for some free damage
Btw, love the Intro with Soul Of Cinder boss music from DS3, easily one of my favorite fights! edit: semi-ending with BDG Division from Doom, this is why I'm subbed. sucks that you had to make a video on this tbh
Thank you for teaching me about this, I know this is apparently normal but I never learned how it worked I guess this will also make tech situations way less frustrating for me I guess
I might start thinking, that littlemac downward f-smash can lead up to jablock situation but is close to frame perfect, and if you want to f-smash after the jabs, it's even tightier.
After no tech, you said Roll in : 1-22/35 (invincibility/total frames) Roll away: 1:19/35 (also invincibility/total frames) Does this differ between no teching on your back, and no teching on your stomach? Or do they appear to be the same?
Oh god, this is like the "Just get up" shit that happened a while ago in MMA, when people started commenting on why grounded fighters didnt just get up instead of engaging in a jiujitsu guard. Whats funny is they showed the same kind of lack of knowledge about the game and ended up coining pretty much the same phrase. Well, fighting is just fighting games in the end isnt it?
The only option is to take scissors to the enemy’s controller. You only have about 15-30 frames to do it, but when properly performed, the enemy has a dramatic increase in vulnerability, to at least 3600 frames
What's up with Bowser's Tech roll? What is he spinning on?👀
😏
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

He's spinnin on them fools!

This has perfect delivery.

Wallee Ray or if it even falls out of their hands
Top tier comments right here
I prefer the technique of either unplugging their controller or throwing it across the room. It's easier to punish but it pretty much wins the game.
@@Endershock1678 that's a safer option since they could get up attack after you hit their controller.
Yeah I think those people meant get up attack as in "get up out of your chair and attack your opponent irl". Completely different from a no tech get up attack. A very strong and underused strategy.
im pretty sure turning off the console beats this option.
Easily the strongest option. Horrendously overpowered
Unpunishable
My reaction time isn’t good enough😢
Ltg?
Just unplug your opponent's controller. Or if they're using a wireless one, just take it and throw it out the window.
That one comment that said
“Get up attack Nukes this!”
The confidence lmao
AHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Get up attack irl by slapping the other players controller out of their hand?
Simple, Things Like Nair Can Counter, But Yeah It can Work

it’s a meme but now everyone knows how it works so the amount of people who are serious about it is a lot smaller

@alex vickrey you just saw the other vid too huh? Lmao
Don't ask me for get up attack ever again
What if they get up attack mid-air?
Haven't thought of this now have you?
Countered by aerial air grab
Gimr is the goat lmaooo
how the f I miss this!? Pokemon cypher was godlike. Watched it all the way through twice.

The dark souls music at the start really is the icing on the cake for this one
That was DOOM
ClassicalHero DOOM music was at the end, Dark Souls music (I think, I never actually heard that track before) at the start
@@menacing_name it's from the final boss theme from ds3
Wtf?? It's the fortress theme from Super Mario World....
I can't belive someone tried to debunk the GimR...
I can't believe hundreds of people tried to debunk the GimR with their scrubby For Fun tech
Don't they know? The gimz always wins
I thought this was some new crazy getup attack frame advantage thing.
Same
59 salty get up attackers didn't like this video
83 actually
91 actually
Haha I’ve foiled GimR’s great videos with my bad get up option... wait...
oh no I messed up, I guess it’s back to the lab again
Shoutouts to Soul of Cinder at the start there.
Nice vid, Gimz.
At least I got some knowledge about the frames if you miss a tech

Yeah but what about brawl trip to get up attack?
you have eternally doomed yourself to hearing the phrase "but what about getup attack" whenever you talk about tech rolls.
Gimr with the Dark Souls music. You sir earned yourself a sub.
I actually made it into a video of someone i really like. This made my 2019 (just realized this 13 minutes before new years)

I'm here after the sequel, which proved Banjo's Wonderwing to get-up attack was the best combo in the game.
I got jebaited and thought I was one of the complainers, turns out we just have similar profile pictures.
lol true
what if you just jump??????????????
What about Get DOWN Attack?

if anyone was wondering, the song at the beginning of the video is Soul of Cinders from Dark Souls 3.
Okay this is cool,
(Brace yourself)
But you know you can just get up attack right?
Honestly, this video was really well done, clear and concise. I love the editing too-
Just get up attack...
If your opponent uses get up attack is using your own getup attack before their hit box comes out the optimal punish if your both on the ground
Ultimate noobs just trying to learn :sadpepe:
The real best about this vid is how he clearly iterate and reiterate that ground option are available from no tech + wiff
Let's be honest, who the heck even get-up attacks?
Imagine a world where get up attack is the best option most of the time
Here it is
I understand but... what about get up attack?
Haven't seen a comment on it so I will, your use of Soul of Cinder's boss music was so good lmao.
yeah but what about just using a star to make yourself invincible. smh man you just aren’t good at the game.

All the DD's in the lab asking about get up attack. GET OUT OF MY LABORATORY. That's what this vid felt like. Lol
I miss this song. So spooky, yet such a classic.
Lol. Love it. Nice use of those intense lines during the close up.
I dunno why I expected this vid to be about why get up attack is secretly a great option
This was a particularly fun one Gimz, keep it up lol
Okay but Bowser’s getup attack is actually badass. Look at that shit!

Ah Gwen's theme. You sir are cultured and i love you
Psst... It's actually the Soul of Cinder's theme, which does transition into Gwyn's theme in its second phase.
Haha you right. Im just pointing out how much i love that part in particular
