Most frustrating dealing with these inspectors. My NL got nailed on a list of stuff, most of which they didn't even check the second time round. They just asked 'Have you fixed it?', to which I replied 'Of course I did'...

And that shouldn't even be possible anymore because they are required to take photographs of each tested item, which are uploaded to the RWC system. My RWC this time around was completely online. By the time I had left the RWC shop and got home (15 mins) I was able to complete the rego transfer as it said "a RWC certificate has already been uploaded". Saved me queuing for ages at the local office!

Frustrating, but worth it in the end....
The rocker covers on mine have been slightly weeping forever, easy to live with regardless 🙌😳🤗🤗

My advice for rocker covers is to replace them again, this time using Permatex gasket dressing on both sides of the gasket and tighten them to slightly *less* than the recommended 3.4Nm. In fact, my new rocker seal was weeping at the rear and I just backed the bolt off a bit, allowing it to seal. It's counter-intuitive, but it works.

I can just imagine what my road worthy will be like when I get it done 😂😂😂
Edit: and well fuck, I thought NSW was bad for trying to get a blueslip 🤦‍♂️

@@KaldekBoch once again, it honestly comes down to the individual doing the test, but most are better than what this guy seems to be. There is one place in my town though who are beyond terrible, they'll pick at every little spot they see 🤦‍♂️

Having a good look at your clock spring that is dangling there (6:05) as mine has just died and can't find a spare locally, so going to strip it and see if I can repair it.

Possibly, but also what I have found is that *many* of the Mitsubishi clock springs are the same for the era. A good idea is to take yours with you to a wreckers. As long as the other car has the same horn and cruise setup it will likely be identical. My other video on an Evo X steering wheel for my Legnum VR4 showed that a Magna clock spring was the same as that car, for example.

Only 5 items isn't so bad! I've had 2 page lists before. Didn't change half the shit and they signed it off. The system is a complete scam!
Average VACC tester doesn't have a clue what they're even testing against. Surprised they didn't say windscreen :P
How long do you get to fix it now?

    • @KaldekBoch
      @KaldekBoch  2 роки тому +1

The good news is that this video is from last week and I've now completed the RWC process. Thank GOD!
Also the windscreen was brand new, as was the entire fuel system (petrol side).

Also mate I cut out about 45 seconds of me bitching with even more colourful language about the RWC system and how everyone interprets the rules differently. The issue is that VicRoads is slamming these guys but they all also have their own bias. So then *we* get slammed on random bullshit.

@@KaldekBoch Good to know you hate it as much as I. Not keen on getting my new galant on the road but I do have some friends who are testers....

@@mezje you wouldn't believe it but the Legnum passed RWC when I bought it in 2014 with naught but the rear suspension arms needing new ball joints. But then I suppose the whole "full RWC every two years" in Japan helped that.
Unsurprisingly, it was my other RWC guy who picks on suspension who picked that one up. 🙄
