Yarn : Medium weight #4
Hook : 5.00mm / US H (use 5.50mm if you want wider slipper)
Measurements : 9 inches / 23 cm (heel to toe)
Make slip knot
Chain 8
Round 1 : 2 hdc in the 3rd chain from hook, 4 hdc, 4 hdc in next stitch, 4 hdc, 2 hdc in next stitch. Slip stitch (16 sts)
Round 2 : chain 1, 1 hdc, 2 hdc in next stitch, 4 hdc, 2 hdc in next stitch, 9 hdc. Slip stitch (18 sts)
Round 3 : chain 1, 1 hdc, 2 hdc in next stitch, 7 hdc, 2 hdc in next stitch, 8 hdc. Slip stitch (20 sts)
Optional : Chain 1, cut yarn. Change color
Round 5 - 9: chain 1, 21 hdc. Slip stitch
Chain 1, cut yarn
Row 1 : Chain 1 (start from side left), make 15 hdc. Make you you have 6 stitches (center) between chain 1 and stitch #15
Row 2 : chain 1, turn work, 15 hdc
Row 3 : chain 1, turn work, 2 hdc in first stitch, 13 hdc, 2 hdc in last stitch. (17 sts)
Row 4 : chain 1, turn work, 17 hdc
Row 5 : chain 1, turn work, 2 hdc in first stitch, 15 hdc, 2 hdc in last stitch. (19 sts)
Row 6 & 7 : chain 1, turn work, 19 hdc
Row 8 : chain 1, turn work, 2 hdc in first stitch, 17 hdc, 2 hdc in last stitch. (21 sts)
Round 9 - 11 : chain 1, turn work, 21 hdc
Round 12 : chain 1, turn work, 8 hdc, 1 hdc decrease, 1 hdc, 1 hdc decrease, 8 hdc. (19 sts)
Round 13 : chain 1, turn work, 19 hdc.
Chain 1, fold heel in half and slip stitch both side together
Make single crochet stitches around the opening.
Love these shoes, starting now. I may put an extra sole on each so they are more cushiony. Nice looking.

Wouldn’t it be easier to increase the size by adding rows to the back end of the slipper - where you are crocheting flat before seaming heel? If you add to the front, the slipper might come up too high on the arch/instep. Will this work? I do love this simple pattern. 😎
Hi Suzzane. Yes, you can definitely add the extra rows at the heel. I suggested adding the extra round at the front is so that there will be extra covering for the feet.
