Where is the cane corso , Rottweiler , Pharoah Hound , and the Kangal ? Kangals date back to Ancient Sumeria . Pharoah Hounds are an older breed than Saluki . Rottweilers and Cane Corsos are War Dogs of Ancient Rome.
You Sir really should do better research before you post these videos. First, you sadly are incorrect about some of this, and cannot accurately pronounce some of the breeds. Mah-stiff is not mas- steef😂
The Norwegian Elkhound, which is believed to have emerged as early as 5000 BC, is one of the oldest breeds on earth and probably should be on this list.
@13:59/25:35 The Handler shown with the Basenji bitch is Bob Mankey. He and partner Jack Schaffer were instrumental in the breeding and showing of the Basenji breed. I had the great honor of working for Bob and Jack in the 1960s as head groomer and learned much about the grooming of show terriers, which were also a specialty of Bob's knowledge. Bob and Jack also raised Cardigan Welsh Corgis as well as the Basenjis for a while. I owned one of the Cambria Basenjis that was whelped at Bob and Jack's Cambria Kennels in Santa Ana, California, named Cambria's Ti Upole.
What about the Dingo? Pretty sure there is proof of those living with people from around 30,000 years ago. (If my memory serves me correctly) They are considered a wild dog today but they have been domesticated repeatedly and are unchanged from their original ancestry.
Yes, in coursing contests, the greyhounds start out ahead but are overtaken by the salukis by the end which is why dog racing tracks do not run salukis. (And salukis often, after one race at a track, will at their next race, jump over the infield to catch the electronic "bunny" as it comes toward them. Salukis are smart.)@@lynnandrews9411

@@clarapoke Hmmph.... did that change at some point? I remember asking about them at my Dog Park 15 years ago, and being told several times that they were called often by the abbreviated nickname of (pronounced) "Zolos" (actually spelled "Xolo's" in abbrev form). Because the full name was apparently pronounced "So lo es queent leel". It's very similar to the Human female name found in Mexico and some other Latin countries of "Xochitl", pronounced "So cheel" (I know because had somebody by this name in my Jr High, so being the curious type asked all the questions)
Its not, this channel has a lot inaccurate information. Most of the doglike Egyptian gods were based on wild dogs and jackals. The Mexican dog at the end has nothing to do with it, and the canines in the time of the Egyptians are much older than the Aztec civilization.

Greyhounds don't need more stamina because not even a thorough bred race horse can out run the, sprinting, A cheetach can get away for a distance of up to a quarter mile and after that they can catch a cheetah as well, I guess necessity is most important
Notice how in the first couple second of the video there’s a evolution picture of man standing side by side with dogs until current day where the dog is standing in front of the man. This actually represents how most people think that’s the way you’re supposed to walk a dog lol. Most bad behaviors also happen because people let the dog walk infront of them. I find this funny and ridiculous. Dog owners learn how to walk your dogs.
You know there's an edit function when you post a UA-cam video, you could cut out the incorrect information without completely taking down the video. Just throwing the idea out there.
I have so many issues with this video from obvious wrong pronunciations to wrong pictures. Also poodles are still working dogs. They're highly used as service animals for people with disabilities.
Yeah I know! I was starting to wonder, and I'm pretty sure I'm right, that this was most likely an AI text-to-speach service they used and just fed it the English-translated text. Thank you for showing the oldest dog breeds, I enjoyed it 😊. I would love to have a “hairless dog” as I have allergies. But I have no chance in Australia to get one, it would cost me an arm or a leg, that’s like me being the next Ms Australia at 68yrs 😅 or your Judge Judy reaching 5ft 11in 😅
There are breeders in this country, Judy. Type in the name and find the parent club for the breed you want and they will direct you to reputable breeders.
People with dog allergies are allergic to the dander or flaking skin cells, not the hair. A hairless dog needs to be wiped down with a damp cloth every day to lower the dander. Immunotherapy worked for me. Then you can have any breed of dog.
If you could remake this video without all the special effects, it would be much better. Shaking and false video coloring and grain distract from the quality of your efforts. Very informative and well presented.
No philippine forest dog? Also known as philippine witch dog. Breed is said to be over 36,000 yrs old. Their distinguishing characteristic is their brindle colored fur. And what sets them apart from other breed are their claws. They have claws like big cats unlike other dogs who have nails. Their old claws falls off and a new one reveals itself. Since they got 'cat' claws, they are prolific tree climbers. They were once thought to be part of legends and folklore, very mysterious and seldom seen creatures. They just disappear instantly, maybe bcoz they climb trees. They are also great hunters, able to hunt by lonesome or in packs. Dog resembles ancient egyptian dogs with short brindle fur.

Why is there a picture of a thylacine at the start? That animal is a marsupial, not a canine.
I wondered about that. I'm no expert about most of the dogs shown, but I DO KNOW that thylacines were never pets.
