The respect Abbadon has for him is a pretty cool note in the story. The siege of Terra has really brought the Imperial Fists into focus as one of my favorite chapters.
The fact that he made Abaddon feel genuinely ashamed, and yet still alive due to shithousery, is unreal. The closest thing to fear I’ve ever heard from a narration of this conversation post fight. Abaddon is genuinely in complete disbelief, ashamed, enraged, everything all at once. A 1000 year old and aged Sigismund done this. Imagine a prime sig, Abaddon would not have been able to tell that tale 💀
Sigismund is one of the characters with the best ending: he crusaded for centuries after the Scouring and almost nailed Abby, despite the Eye and Chaos granting the latter an edge against the old Templar. It would be awesome to have him come back as a Saint in case Abby were to reach Terra, just to have him lead his 6000 Templars one more time
He was projecting his own fathers demands on sigismund. The emperor made his decree about pskyers being dangerous. Dorn is steadfast and embraces this. He cannot understand how sigismund could fall for the pskyer bullshit. Sigismund is his best and brightest, and even the best and brightest can fall for psyker tricks? The implicaiton is too much for dorn to handle. If Dorns best can be led astray, who else could be brought down low? At this point dorn cant even concieve that of the true treason occuring during the HH. Its unthinkable and he cant handle it, he lashes out at sigismund. Forcing him to try and cover up his failure because if the best space marine can fall, anyone of them can. And its even worse than that, because between magnus, horus, fulgrim etc, they are all falling to chaos through warp manipulations. Warhammer is a tragedy above all.
@@JohnDoe-xv9du Thats part of it, but the parallels between horus and the emperor/sigismund and Dorn are brought up a few times during that whole scene. Its a piece of fantastic writing. Not to mention Dorns greatest fear is brought up in "The lightning tower" that once he understands WHY horus has turned, that he may go traitor too. And sigismund is someone who heard a "truth" that made him derelict in his duties and go against his fathers wishes. Its too much for Dorn to handle.
Wow, just wow. With this level of narration and voice acting it was extremely hard for me, as a grown-ass man, to not get really emotional during this video. Especially when Dorn berated Sigismund, I feld tears welling up, as if I was the receiver of those words. Superb. Sigismund is a fascinating character and this piece does him honor.
@@freakyzed8467 Depends on perspective. Some are stronger for such stern serious fathers. My father was not a loving type. A hardass that never showed his feelings. But I respected and took some of that strength he presented. Ill never be that heartless but I am stronger for it. And in the end glad for it.
I wish we had more books translated to Spanish, theres one Library that is covering the Horus Heresy books, but no Siege of Terra atm, and the 40K novels are meh, too much Ultramarines
Jesus Warhawk was sooo good the final showdown between Sigismund vs Kharn also the showdown between Mortarion vs Jaghatai. My love for the White Scars grows more! If you are reading this get the Audible version of Warhawk the narration is soo good!
Dorn's treatment of Sigismund was the same treatment he gave to the Imperial Palace, he had to tear down something beautiful to build something that was necessary. Warhawk saw the completion of the recreation of Sigismund and freed Dorn to let Sigismund know how truly proud of him he was.
One of the many tragedies of Dorn. A man that only wanted to create stability and beauty forced to debase that beauty for pragmatism and effectiveness.
Shadow of treachery actually made me tear up a bit, such bting words from a father can hurt more then any death or loss of honour, but to live on with those words within ones mind is truly pain.

I usually play Iron Warriors and after 20 years, i can say, i hate Imperial Fists too. But what you did here, has let me shed a few tears. Boy, was i stunned by that story and especially the end. What a tragic but noble figure he was. Nonetheless… damn that fool 😂 That was a collaboration at it‘s best. A Border Prince, A Vox in the Void and you. There they are. The trinity of 40K lore 😊✌🏻
@@TheAmberKing Only a pleasure brother . not many people are talking about the chapters of the cursed founding, my favorite are Space Sharks, *Lamenters*(these guy are just built different) and Raven Guards (will probably be declared heretics by the inquisition purely because of their huge stash of ancient artifacts) these are the only chapters I world say needs to be looked at purely because of how unique they are. Space Shark with a unstable gene-seed that slowly turns them in Shark Marines yet they are still loyal to the imperium of man(and Tyberos Danm he thiccc). Lamenters being the unluckiest chapter in the history of the imperium and in my opinion the best redemption seeing as they sided with the Astral Claw who were corrupted by chaos taint, yet came back into the the imperium after finding out that the Astral Claws were corrupted, lost two homeworlds, surviving trynids, and having a bad ass old dreadnought that thinks he is the last lamenter. And then the Raven Guard, what else is there to say about them, badass, slightly heretical, super loyalist, and also suffering from the black rage and the red thirst like the Blood Angels
First time in a long time I've seen a decent Astartes video. Not these modern rubbish, but the Legionaries will always be greater than any modern *spit* Chapter, and Sigismund is the best of those best.
I'm always deeply impressed with the bones of this universe and what talented creators can do with it and then almost equally disappointed with the decisions of the parent company. I really wish they cared more about the story and lore than they did about selling minis, it's almost a meta commentary about the wasted potential of the Imperium

Agreed. Combat is hard to write. Especially in books. One on one is slightly easier than mass army conflict. Often it becomes messy. In fact a “less is more” approach seems to work most effectively

I felt so bad for him when he was chastened by Dorn in "The Crimson Fist" novella from "Shadows of Treachery": I could almost feel his pain... I must say though Amber King, your in-depth dive to the life of this legendary champion brought tears to my eyes especially when he died at Abaddon's hands. I guess the music is partly to blame for making me so emotional haha. Also the collaboration on the voice acting is superb: my highest compliments to your collaborators! Keep up the good work! Do remember...Dorn was never a good liar...The Siege of Terra is where he learned how to be a good liar. When he first talked to Sigismund, Dorn told the truth, but before "freed" Sigismund in his last talk before Sigismund later became the "Emperors Champion"...Dorn Lied. Because Dorn needed to lie. So his "son" Sigismund could become the weapon he needed, that the Emperor needed...And so, Dorn Lied. With that lie more and more of Dorn's Dream, Dorn's Certanty broke. Like a wall that took too much punishment. Dorn cracked. Leading to Sigismund becoming Dorn's Chained Weapon. Iron Within. lol
way to give the templars some love! i feel like with everything going on now people forget the struggle they go through. even thou space marines are looked at as better then humans they still have their own eternal battles that never get shared to the people of the imperium and maybe that is to spare them for all the pain they have to endure or maybe they will never understand it. great video!!!

This is honestly some of the most masterful story telling and voice acting I have had the pleasure of experiencing in quite some time. I absolutely love this video and the work you do Amber King. If I were to make a suggestion on future topics, I’d say the emperor’s favorite creation Constantin Valdor. Additionally I think the Space Sharks and their chapter master Tyberos also would be great options. Can’t wait for the next video!
@@roboticfish317 Dante is a legend, but not to the level that Sigismund was at. Abaddon's men were nervous about their duel, when Abaddon was Warp-infused and Sigismund was old and creaky. For good reason, it turns out - Abaddon barely survived. Dante is easily the top of the modern era, maybe of his own lifetime, but nobody can overtake Sigismund.

Bro I literally aspire to be half as cool as this dude. You tell the lore as it is but in an interesting. Then on top of that you give your viewers a full depth analysis of the characters and their motivations. So far I only watch you. Major kill and sometimes wolf lord rho but you definitely set chills down my spine when you drop a video
ehhh, check out Luetin09. He has been the primarch of lore for the last two years. also the Amber King, Baldemort, Oculus Imperia, ABORDER PRINCE and Majorkill. That's all I can remember off the top of my head there are numerous smaller channels and probably channels I forgot.

This is honestly some of the most masterful story telling and voice acting I have had the pleasure of experiencing in quite some time. I absolutely love this video and the work you do Amber King.
If I were to make a suggestion on future topics, I’d say the emperor’s favorite creation Constantin Valdor. Additionally I think the Space Sharks and their chapter master Tyberos also would be great options.

@@roboticfish317 Dante is a legend, but not to the level that Sigismund was at. Abaddon's men were nervous about their duel, when Abaddon was Warp-infused and Sigismund was old and creaky. For good reason, it turns out - Abaddon barely survived. Dante is easily the top of the modern era, maybe of his own lifetime, but nobody can overtake Sigismund.
You and @baldemort have to collab on a video. Narration and VO was awe inspiring.

Bro I literally aspire to be half as cool as this dude. You tell the lore as it is but in an interesting. Then on top of that you give your viewers a full depth analysis of the characters and their motivations. So far I only watch you. Major kill and sometimes wolf lord rho but you definitely set chills down my spine when you drop a video

ehhh, check out Luetin09. He has been the primarch of lore for the last two years. also the Amber King, Baldemort, Oculus Imperia, ABORDER PRINCE and Majorkill.
That's all I can remember off the top of my head there are numerous smaller channels and probably channels I forgot.
these are damn good narration. there are so many warhammer 40k lore channels on youtube it hard too beat but you have earned a subscriber with this one. Keep the m coming brother we love them
