Top running Stephen! That was a nasty weekend to race. Huge kudos to the UK Ultra staff and volunteers for putting it all on in those awful conditions. Look forward to having a pop at this one next year. Good to see Neil make an appearance too. 😎🤘
Was an honour to be chief gate holding marshall at the down hill slip and slide into Litllington Aid station 1. Hope to see you on the start line at another UK Ultra race, their aid stations are the best. I will be marshalling again at Hibernal and then (god willing) tying on my own shoes for all 3 of the 50kms for the South Downs Triple Crown
Fantastic running!! I was down to run the 55 miler but life and bits get in the way but watching this I’m gutted l wasn’t there!!! Roll on next year!!! 🤟
That hill at 12:50 has to be one of the gnarliest on SDW, just pure gradient, no turns, no trees, just %%%% 😅 incredible running, the route alone is mad, let alone the insane weather. Super impressive.
Great video Stephen, as always. I thoroughly enjoyed that race and it's great to see it all again from your perspective (although somehow I missed the long man, even being there in daylight!). Not sure how you managed without gloves, I had 2 pairs on at all times. Can't complain about the weather at all though - perfect for me (I hate the heat), and even the wind at the start was quite fun in places. Congrats on your finish, onto the next one.
Great video! Thanks for documenting the race. I was there too and it was my first 50 miler. What a day! I was very glad to see the finish line. The weather definitely made it more of an adventure!
Neil is always exhausted by the end as he's been up for about 72 hours setting up and directing the 100 mile😂 You can tell that's pure sleep deprivation when you ask him questions!
I had a HM that day and it was the first time my legs got cold during running! I felt quite brave doing that but yours is epic. You say you don't like wind but I feel you might take it over heat or?? Well done and thanks for sharing.
I definitely enjoyed the video and appreciated the effort :) ... well done, great team work. Looking forward to Victoria's next ultra too, watch this space I'm sure..trying to coax my girlfriend into running more than 20k which is her longest yet...thank you again M ☘️
Nice work m8. I would say that without the weather the longer races can become booring :) but for some the race itself is enough without the extra challenge of the weather :)
@@colbvz3 I’ve had it for a while now and I love it. What I like is how balanced it is on my head unlike the terrible Fenix head torches which are so front heavy.
Well done, I was sweeping the 100mile race Friday night during the peak of the storm. It was crazy.

Oddly enough I mostly enjoyed the windy bit on the way out but really struggled with the mud bath on the way back. Great video!

Braveau - well done. Enjoyed your video!
The elements certainly conspired against you Steve but you overcame them. Merry Christmas
Great ,well done running through that storm a big cheer out to you and all your fellow competitors who put up with the conditions

Great video as always, brutal conditions, saw a lot of runners that day who showed grit in those conditions. All the best Alfriston Gareth 👍
Well done 👍. That was crazy!

I really loved this video! Thankyou FMR 😀
Well done Stephen amazing running, 👏
Great video, thanks for posting. I just had some flashbacks to a trail 1/2m I did in a storm- exiliharating for sure. And enjoyable 😅

I ran the Salisbury Plain winter trail marathon on the same day, and yes it was a crazy day 😂
Great to see you at the finish weather was proper shit!!!!
Great film as always.

Another great race day film 👍
How did you get on with the Petzl Nao RL?

@FilmMyRun, good to hear as I've just ordered one!
Have a great Christmas 🎄
Awesome video, nothing like a storm to make 50miles more fun! How’d you find the speedgoat 6? Are they as bad as people say?
What’s the benefits of a marmite sandwhich? Thanks!
Pretty irresponsible tbh, not fair on emergency services if it does go bad.
