While I respect Artem Ovcharenko as a lovely dancer, can't say I'm a fan of his Spectre. It totally lacks the roundness and softness the role demands, the arms are all wrong, the grand jete at the beginning ruins the mood and, not his fault, the music is very bombastically played. Looks like this was a 'one-off' performance and it comes off that way.

So true. I like Ovcharenko too. But he is not the dancer for this role. The first grand jete is not evocative of what's to come. Somehow this Spectre looks different from all others I've seen --everything looks flattened. The costume is ghastly too.
