Steve Lawrence was among the best of favorite performer. Seen him at Harrah's South Lake Tahoe few times with great anticipation. His presence was awesome with a charming smile and loving feelings that filled my spirit. I love all the songs in his version and still my top choice is "I Gotta Be Me" that is my own song as well an expression of existence and belief. It's just when I was 69 that I came to know his name. There are some singers who sang this but I said it's not him. So I hear those versions one by one until I heard his voice. Then I said, oh, he is the one. So his name is Lawrence. The voice I can't forget.
