    There is no margin for error in the 100m dash. The attention to detail, from shin angles, block clearance, relaxation, arm swing, front side mechanics, the list goes on and on.. it’s incredibly technical. You can be in better shape and loose to a more skilled athlete. Mix skill, ability, then execution and consistency .. that’s how you become great.
    The 100m is such an amazing event.

      @stevewise1656 2 місяці тому +1

      I was going to write something similar, though you summed it up perfectly. The 100M now with so many guys running times so close to one another leaves no room for error...see Christian Coleman. Noah makes up for some of his bad starts with his closing speed, though in the Olympics you can't make mistakes. Closing speed might get you fourth place. Noah doesn't tense up like the other guys over the last 30-40 meters and staying relaxed allows him to win. Had Kenny B held it together at the trials, he would've won. They all hear footsteps and know Noah is coming and they lose form.

    I can relate: poor starter but had good top end speed for a 5'6" white guy 11.0 , 22.7, 51.5
    On pace for a 48 in college before injury my senior year.

    Ralph is meticulous in working on Noah's mechanics. He will have Noah correct and correct until it's right over and over again. If you watch Noah's races, he's always the last to pull his head up during his drive phase. That's confidence in the process and composure.

      @slai.. 2 місяці тому +1

      @@1babysun he is relevant in the current era (9.81 & 19.31) is one of the fastest but not on the same level as prime Bolt who was ungodly fast (9.56 & 19.19), nor on the same level as prime Y.Blake (9.69 & 19.26). He is still running and has his chance to prove the world he is capable to reach the heights of prime Bolt and Y.Blake in 200m. For 100m, no chance, imo.

      I never said he was as fast as prime Bolt, in the 100. But in the 200 he’s has a chance to get there. However, he is imo still ungodly fast. There are different levels to heaven.
