I remember being in the Gallowgate at the front and watching Billy. He received an enthusiastic challenge off a centre half and Billy got up and smiled at him. Next thing I saw was the centre half being led off with blood pouring from his nose and Billy laughing his head off.
aye big billy was right.gascoigne untouchable on his day.unreal made playing for enland look easy.hell of a player he was.dont make them like him anymore.beardsley was shear class too,but it just goes to show how good gazza was.pure genius.
Apparently Vinnie Jones was at an Awards dinner, watching the presentations....and someone was flicking peanuts at the back of his head. Vinnie got annoyed, stood up and spun round, to sort the culprit out. He saw Big Billy was the guy in question and sheepishly sat back down. There is also the time that Billy had a sh*t, whilst in the communal bath at Boothferry Park. Andy Payton (Hull's young striker) saw the water turning a mucky brown and made a run for it. Too late...Big Bill hit him square in the back with the turd! haha
Never seen a player turn around his career like Billy did at Hull City. Total donkey for 2 years, then Chris Chilton got hold of him and turned him into a First Division player. Top striker and coach of strikers, Chilton. Look at the goalscoring records from 1964 to 1972, you'll see him there.
@@TheJohnCooper yer big dunc was hard but these lot are from another generation, dunc looked hard because everyone else around him wasn't, Billy & co where big hard fish in a big fuck off pond filled with hard cunts.
Talking about greatest ever England player and then you move on to Alan Ball !!….don’t you realise he was the greatest England player ever !!….and l love Gazza ….
@@thebeardfather1st doubt it.. he rated Billy as the hardest player he played with and against on and off the pitch..I honestly don't think billy was scared of any footballer, even big Dunc or Souey.. granted he didn't have their footballing ability
Billy , remember when the Chambers nightclub doormen in Sunderland showed you who was boss when you got thrown out, I was there that night and you were made to look like a big girls blouse
I think the reference Beardsley couldn't lace gazzas boots was basically him saying as good as Beardsley was...Gazza was even better...think that's what he meant I don't think he meant Pedro was poor...Billy was hardest player I've ever seen in a black n white shirt in my time.

Vinnie Jones said in an interview that he reckons Billy Whitehurst was the hardest player he ever came up against.

Legend
wasnt expecting to get a good laugh out of this
haha I love it!!
Love the story
Gazza was amazing but saying Beardsley couldn't lace his boots is bollocks.
Beardsley was awesome, better than Gazza. It was Gazza's personality that took him to a higher place than Beardsley.
For talent it's obviously true or he wouldn't have fucking said it.
did you ever play with either? no, so shut up
Beardsley was great, but Gazza was best English talent, I’ve ever seen, better than Rooney. I’m impartial, I’m from Glasgow.
@@myaphextwin807It’s Beardsley for me
Could listen to Billy all day Alan Ball falling over with his slip ons on had me laughing.
If Paul Sykes played football....
Duncan F telling everyone to calm down about who was hard. It’s what we think about, and we were not there.
