Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉
"Vision" is part 2 of the Apocalypse trilogy. I believe they are showing us the perspective from the future in this series, showing us how the earth looks like when we keep acting like we do. While "Maison" was talking about the destruction of the environment, here they seem to be talking about the destruction due to war. I don't know if that was the idea from the beginning, but Putin's aggression definitely played a role here. In one set they even dance in front of what looks sort of like a huge trident, which is the coat of arms of Ukraine (could be a coincidence though, or this is me seeing things). It could be about North Korea as well after all.
It is easy to see how the conflict in Ukraine could result in global destruction. It's just a push of a button away. Note that Dami presses a launch button, but it's not for nukes. It's for spreading their message, their vision. Peace. To be heard all around the world. The song is also a call for action, to stand together against aggressors and those who are destroying the planet out of greed. There is not much difference between someone leading an army or a corporation, if the result is destruction. Still, Dami said the intention is to resolve the problems in a peaceful way.
So, what do we do? There is no easy answer. Dami has an outfit that shows that perfectly. One half is an innocent bridal dress, the other half is simply badass. What I know is that any aggressor only listens to very limited diplomacy, and they need to know that the good in the world is ready and willing to fight them if needed. Whoever the aggressor is, we are more than them. They need to know they will never succeed, the only option is peace.
By the way, my interpretation could be completely wrong, any other theory is perfectly valid as well.
Musically, it's heavier than Maison, and I feel it fits the subject matter very well. It sounds aggressive and heavy, but also soft and vulnerable. There is the duality again. And I love the fake keychange at the end of the chorus, the crazy bass and the guitar in the bridge. All in all this is a fantastic release!
It's a thing in Kpop to have some English lyrics in the songs because of the very close relationship between South Korea and the US. I think Dreamcatcher use more English lyrics than other groups, and they use them very effectively to emphasize certain points in the songs.

they will release a new album and thus song on may 24th, called bon voyage. it's the final part of their apocalypse themed trilogy. vision is part 2 of this trilogy and is essentially an anti-war song. part 1 is maison.
So glad to see that you're back. Dreamcatcher is so good. They are very underrated in the k-pop industry but they have been around a long time and have a wonderful discography. Please do more reactions to Dreamcatcher.

Dreamcatcher is a girl group with 7 members (Jiu, Sua, Siyeon, Handong, Yoohyeon, Dami & Gahyeon). They are known as the face of rock in Kpop and the queens of diversity for doing different genres in their B-sides. Their music videos have different storylines and concepts. "VISION" is the 2nd part of their Apocalypse series, the first being "MAISON" and the third being "Bon Voyage" (comes out on May 24). I recommend you check out their Dystopia trilogy with the songs "Scream," "BOCA" and "Odd Eye." It talks about cyberbullying in the idol industry. Dreamcatcher fans are called Insomnias and you're very welcome to the dreamworld!

@@jamescurfman3284 of course, Handong is the Chinese member in the group and she was absent during the first parts of the Dystopia trilogy (Scream and BOCA) because she was in China when COVID happened and couldn't return to record the songs and film the MVs. She returned for the last part (Odd Eye) more confident than ever. She was in China filming an idol survival show Youth With You (Lisa from BLACPINK was the dance mentor) and Handong participated bc she didn't get as many lines in Dreamcatcher songs so she decided to take a few steps back and regain her confidence. Since then, the line distribution in Dreamcatcher songs has been pretty fair! Handong is represented in Scream and BOCA with a dancer in a mask and it's revealed in Odd Eye Dystopia ver that she was the person behind the mask.

With 2 Korean and one Japanese Studio Albums, over 10 EPs in Korean and Japanese, many legendary song covers and digital releases ("Special Songs"), Dreamcatcher have created so many amazing songs, with exciting MVs and strong Dance choreos. I would start from the Dystopia Trilogy (Scream, Boca, Odd Eye), Followed by BEcause, and the Apocalypse Trilogy (Maison, Vision, Bon Voyage). Also DejaVu is a must and their latest fan song Reason is a banger. Then, there's the 6-7 part Nightmare Series, which is wild ride on it's own. Dreamcatcher shine on and off the stage, showing incredible performances and personas on stage, and their lovely, loving, cute, funny, dorky side off stage.
They share the stage with idols, but they are above idols .

Out of their seven members, three actually officially hold the Rapper title to varying degrees. The Main Rapper is Dami, the deep-voiced Blonde in this video. It really surprises people when they realize that she can also SING! She's a great enough vocalist to be able to cover Adele! She does not sing with such a low voice as when she raps so sometimes people just don't recognize her voice if they are only listening and not watching a video. They will mistake her voice for being one of the Lead Vocalists.
SuA, the Crowned one here, has not done any rapping in a while (she wanted to focus more on her vocals, which she is great at but for some reason the company does not count her as a Lead Vocalist...) so this song was a pleasant surprise for fans.
Gahyeon is the youngest member and when SuA stepped back from rapping, Gahyeon decided to try it and she turned out pretty good. She does not rap in this song. She's also a vocalist (the first one to say 'Forward March!' while holding the flag).
The Main Vocalist, Siyeon, can also rap but it is not an official title for her, she only does it for the fun of it.
