Is Your Schnauzer Overweight?

- Many are! Schnauzers need a low fat diet & do not need to be over fed to feel loved. Show them love by playing with them & giving them affection. Being overweight isn't healthy for humans & it's not healthy for our pets either. You must admit, a slimmer dog is a more handsome & younger looking animal. It's not hard to get the extra pounds off. Start today & prolong the life of your little companion.

My grandmas snouser has fat ripples along his back. She gives him 3 burger patties every other weekend and chicken tenders twice a week. She walks him but not as much as she should. She gives him table scraps and ice cream all the time. He needs help.

Yeah, that's what we meant! From 3:45 onwards, it was pure joy to watch for that boy! :)
Yep! Schnauzers have us trained so we give in to them & give them everything they want, or at least what they want most in the world & that's FOOD! I thought Homer would like the wiggle wiggle wiggle part best! :) The music is a crazy mesh, isn't it? LOL
It's hard not to give into those begging eyes but we have to for the sake of their health. Most act like they are starving no matter how much they are fed so we have to use good judgement & know how much is enough. Never go by what the food bag (label)says! They always say too much. You have to go by how active your pet is as well.
I agree TOTALLY! It is so bad for our best friends to be overweight! (pets) Whether it is a schnauzer or even a cat... MOST of the time we have only ourselves to blame for it!
Schnauzers are good at beggingt! Most of them just love to eat! I have only had two out of all the schnauzers that I've had that didn't act like they were starved to death! I know, you can never go the label... It is always is to much. My girls both have a 1/4 cup twice a day, any more they would look like blimps... So far in most of the types of food they do well on that much. I try to stay with one brand that I'm having good results.
My dog Leia is a schnauzer beagle mix and she's 2 years old and overweight. She has a lot of energy and chases our Rottweiler mix puppy around and only eats 1/2 cup dog food twice a day. I walk her too some days and just wondering what else I should do.
