Buns verse on "murder" is one of my fav verses of all time
All time classic verse!
Facts he went crazy on that track
yessir!!!
Murder and Three 16s 🔥🔥🔥
Murder is one of their coldest songs….that whole album is tip top
I’m gonna revisit that tomorrow bet….One Day, Pinky Rings, 3 in the Mornin etc etc 😤
As someone from Jersey who has been all over Louisiana and Texas and has lived there and been in the small towns and trenches, we on the east coast have to realize that we are NOT the only people proud of who we are and where we from! O has some of the best times of my life in LA and TX. Pimp was all about Texas and he repped to the fullest. Salute to all my people in P.A., Beaumont, Galveston, Screwston, Dallas, Austin and Ft Worth. Maaaane!

Fact that Pimp didn't wanna do the song, and he did the video HIS WAY. Mink coat and his Benz, and he spit the most country PA verse... LEGENDARY 💯💯💯
Your name is pimp C. You should have a fur on and a bad hoe(s) at your side and a pimps car.. nothing special there bruh. Any body calling themselves pimp would have done the same.
That verse is Goated til this day!!! Only part I listen to
This is why Pimp was so special. Even someone like Jay Z couldn't tell him what to do. I hear a lot of bs about what Master P did to him but that boy went to enemy territory by himself.
Pimp C was willing to turn down an amazing financial opportunity because 2Pac didn't like JayZ. That's stupid, not dope
That ending was crazy🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Bun B always went hard on his verses. But Big Pimpin was a great time to be young and alive then. In the clubs and parties..lit🥳
Facts
How did Bun B do that🔥
That last line😂😂😂😂
Perfect timing 😂
Ended perfectly

Man BIG FACTS! The industry a cold game man!lol
Pimp C was too real for this world..... He is truly missed...

I’m still riding the Scarface Tiny Desk wave and now this interview with Bun 🫡. 3 Stacks said it best: The South got something to say!
Thanks, New York. Thanks for showing the love and giving Bun B his flowers now. #Salute
A lot of times, that is social media shit bro. NY is diverse musically and did f@#k with all regions, but you would have a few here and there who didn't
When I hear Big pimpin I literally cannot wait for Bun B's verse....
I bounce the hardest when he flows, in a sense I become Bun B, and that's what makes an Iconic Artist.
Thank you Bun B
Salute 💪😎
I was living in Kuwait when Big Pimpin came out. I will never forget some of the people who couldn't speak English but they knew Pimp C verse word for word.
For people that are not from the south... especially Texas and if you don't understand the significance of UGK, it was pretty much like this... before the internet, if you walked into a music store and grabbed any random rapper's album off the shelf, flipped it over, and saw any song that said Featuring UGK/ Pimp C/ Bun B, you wanted to instantly buy the album or AT LEAST listen to it for the feature alone. That was the UGK effect down here 💯💯💯
Appreciate this. I'm from Brooklyn and never heard of UGK till Big Pimpin and never knew what the hype was about or where they cane from.
( 10:19 - 10:45 ) Bro, I did not expect that ending. 😅
•Bun B: "That was Publishing, that's Ownership".
•Homie in the red: "Now read a book, you illiterate S.O.B" . LOL
People don't understand that UGK helped Jay too just as much as Big Pimpin helped UGK. Jay got more notoriety in the south after he linked with UGK.
Jay sold 6 million on Hard Knock Life. 1998. Before Big Pimpin. That's his biggest selling album. So how did they help Jay?
@@OmarScruggshe just saying it helped him get a little more play in the south. I’m from Jersey but used to visit GA and FL.. and lot of niggas didn’t fuck wit Jay-z out there the way we did. Even after he hopped on the juvenile rmx or got ugk on his song, dudes thought Jay was soft.. u would see girls listen to some his radio joints but his albums weren’t going too crazy

@@OmarScruggs Right!
He sold 5 million on vol 2, what you think he just sold that in NY? He had a highly successful tour that year too that was selling out like crazy all over the country, that includes the SOUTH, he helped UGK get mainstream recognition by putting them on his song, y’all stop with that nonsense that nobody was listening to Jay outside of the East Coast.

That's a fact and I'm a huge Jay-Z fan truth is truth!

Jay had the most lyrical verse,;bun wasn’t saying much
Math created his own platform and putting his music on. Brilliant.
DC had an affinity for Scarface and Pimp C. Cash money and No limit. BUT DC also loved CNN, Jay z, BIG, KRS -One. DC had a distinct music taste/culture centered around our own genre gogo. Noochie is a perfect example of a DC hip hop sound. Also wale gives a good representation of the sound.

I was with you till the Wale part, I'll respectfully agree to disagree
If you lived in the city, was around juice 💦.. you def listened or atleast heard endless Scarface, Devin or UGK in rotation
@@JAMueLJackson Face,Devin The Dude, and UGK used to be in the city all the time back in the late 90’s and early 2000’s.
@JAMueLJackson definitely facts with your comments..outside of Go-Go being played in the whip they're the rap artists that were in heavy rotation..Devin & Scarface got love for the city (DC) they both have performed live with the Go-Go Bands such as BYB (Backyard Band), JYB (Junkyard) and NEG (Northeast Groovers)...#whatatimetobealive #ivegotthepatapesandcds from back then

Bun B is definitely in The South's Mount Rushmore. More people need to know about K-Rino as well. Dude is a lyrical beast with close to 60 albums. Bun and Scarface always mention him as one of the illest to ever do it.
Rino a true underground king. Who would you put on the Mount Rushmore? I got Face, Bun&Pimp, Screw and probably Devin or Slim Thug.
@daveruss9972 The south has so many it's hard to make a Rushmore when Texas alone has so many dope mc's. I can't pick four, but my top 10 is K-Rino, Z-Ro, Scarface, Dirtyboyz, Killer Mike, UGK, Ball & G..... Pastor Troy is in there also
K-Rino is trash lol
@@daveruss9972Slim Thug? Lmao over Fat Pat? Big Moe? 3-2? C-Note?
@@TheAbstract35 - Those guys are all nice but they didn't make the national push like Thugga. Those records he did with Pharrell still in rotation and he's been putting out quality records for years. I respect his independent hustle and the fact he's still doing it at a high level. Paul Wall could also slide in there for the grills alone.
When he quoted the bun verse and was like fuck cmon man I laughed so hard
I noticed how they avoided the hate that pimp c and the South had and has for New York.
Not everyone from NY hate southern rappers. You got some that respect them and some of them don’t. You got southerners that hate NY rap and you got some that respect them. Pimp was still angry from that. NY didn’t like UGK but they love Geto Boys.
@@nvm7191 Im not making nothing up. Im talking about later on. Im from Pimp’s hometown. I know how he felt.

Jay is so far ahead in business acumen than most of his peers. What benefit is hate when we can collaborate and get bigger.. He did his thing with UGK nicely and moved on. Then comes the talk about being compelled to do a 4th verse and peeps don't understand the publishing business and they think is lyrical. Thanks to Bun B for educating them. No wonder Jay is far ahead paper-wise. You all can keep arguing about the records, he secured the bag cos everyone who was an artist did it for the bag amongst other reasons.
That was probably Dame.... Jay is like Jordan. He gets business opportunities because his status in the game, haven't seen extreme success he has had in the CEO role

That's the dumb stuff New Yorker's say and don't even realize how disrespectful it is.
I disagree with the one comment by Bun about D.C not wearingTimberlands.. We were wearing the leather Super Tims in the late 80's before we started rockin the buttas and cinnamon joints in the 90's.. But he's correct that most ppl from D.C are country, originally from N.C and gravitate to the south.. Coming from the Chi, moving to Long I and then to D.C I personally gravitated north and consumed Hip-Hop from NYC.
Salute to you MATH for this one
I dont believe Jay cared much about Pimp not liking him. It was business for him at the end of the day and being culturally progressive.
That said, besides Dipset, Jay was one of the first mainstream artist to bridge the gap between the north and south. Yet there are southerners who try hard to discredit him for whatever reason.
Success breeds envy I guess 🤷🏾♂️
For whatever reasons a lot of folks down south don’t like jayz.. was at the movies a preview for the Book of Clarence showed .. some girls laughed the whole way through until the credits.. showed jayz affiliation.. “jayz?!!
