21:00 As the Monster Hunter Series has taught me, Purple means poison...or dragon...or frenzy...or Hellfire...or yet another color for thunder...or something completely new that will cause the endgame-grind-variants
Recently seen the full steel cover and it seems arkveld had been imprisoned somewhere for some time. Scary thought that this non-elder had to be locked up for its power. But on second sighting, those chains look a bit bright, glowing with purple aura. Was it somehow using its power? For what? To power something, or to keep something else at bay.
Uth Duna is a wonderful new leviathan to add in contrast alongside Balahara, and hey I know it’s unrealistic, but it reminded me a good deal of Gobul. But that aside, I agree there hasn’t been a single monster that’s been introduced that I found to be lacking or not striking a chord with me. There’s always the chance that wears off once I’m actually fighting them properly, but I am so ecstatic to be finally experiencing these creatures for the first time.
3:53 The Rooster Wyvern - Quematrice. If I'm correct, the name could be a combination of the word "quemar" meaning "to burn" in spanish, hence the fire element, and Cockatrice which is a mythological creature with the body of a dragon/lizard and the head of a rooster. And Arkveld looks like a mix of the whip-whing wyverns of Frontier and Morudomunto.
An idea I had was maybe he combats the apexes of each map, masters of each element, by temporarily absorbing that element to use in battle along with like dragon as his main one.
That's a really long time to be down following a hit, is it not? Surely the hunter would automatically stand up by then, even if you don't input any controls
I’m betting on Arkveld using the Seregios skeleton, he’s the only ‘flying’ Wyvern that has the owl leg structure (shared with Arkveld) and walks on his hands in a very unique way which could be used for Arkveld and explains its Magala-esque beefiness. Plus we don’t have a ton of them in the franchise so it feels exotic and fun for a new flagship.
Considering the Steelbook Edition mentioned here, the more I think about it, Arkveld is kinda like Marley, or whatever his name was, from the most recent rendition of 'A Christmas Carol,' chains and all. Only difference is, they took him, and made him into a dragon that uses these 'chains' as both weapons, and tools for 'imprisonment,' or in this case ensnarement, to achieve a far easier meal.
My opinion on Arkveld is im hoping he IS an Elder Dragon, because he would be the perfect Elder Dragon to show us, think about every single monster we've seen so far (Rathalos excluded), they have done something outside of "The Mold" and are "breaking the rules" of Monster Hunter design philosophy, Doshaguma and Balahara are these Fugly large monsters that work in packs, Chatacabra is an Amphibian with Garangolm's general shape (where before they all had the same kinda froggy frame), Rey Dau is a sentient Tesla cannon of a wyvern with his "ammo belt" of spines and movable horns, Lala Barena is a spider with a rear that mimics a rose and fights like a mix of Ballarina and Pole Dancer (only in her "private quarters" seemingly) and has hairs that she can fling off and paralyze foes with, Quemetrice is very avian in appearance for a brute wyvern (to the point of until i looked him up, i thought he was a runner bird wyvern like kulu-ya-ku or the dromes), the SF apex is a very chunky WHALE of a Leviathan (typically im pretty sure the chunkier leviathans tend to be weaker compared to their more sleek contemporaries, Royal Ludroth and Gobul compared to Mizutsune, Agnaktor, and Lagiacrus), so if Arkveld is an Elder Dragon that doesn't use the Standard Elder Dragon Skeleton (the Kushala Daora body plan) well i think this freak in feathered sheets is gonna fit right in. (Plus Fronteir is also relevent because several elder dragon monsters use other skeletons, Eruzerion being the most "popular" example, guy is Zinogre with spiral ram horn starring in a 50 minute, live action, virtual reality, 4D with Surround Sound, ad for IcyHot)
I personally detest the idea of Arkveld being an elder. We’ve had too many elder flagships for goodness sake, making up 3/4ths of Gen 5’s flagships. I, personally, see it being completely neutral as it takes a lot of flying wyvern liberties because it’s supposed to be EXTINCT. Arkveld literally shouldn’t fit in because it was believed it reached extinction, meaning that it’s potential period of existence WOULD be different to every other monster in Wilds
@loafofgodlybread9225 and that's a valid take, I'm not saying "one is better than the other" I'm perfectly fine if Arkveld turns out to be a flying wyvern, I'm just saying that my personal guess is Elder Dragon, and hey, if I'm wrong, so be it.
One of the whip wyverns in Frontier, Zenaserisu had whips that could be severed, and you could carve them like a tail. It was pretty neat and to counteract the fact you just nullified like half his moveset, he goes permanently enraged and starts spamming some of his most tricky moves. It's a really fun fight.
@@InsetoWF I like the idea of monsters that, after specific breaks they stay enraged till they die. That's how shogun ceanatour use to work in gen 2, once you broken even 1 of his claws.
I really liked the new trailer it had a good mix of everything and I genuinely wonder is quirematrice is a distant relative of glavenus they share a good bit with each other from he disproportionately long tails and even their facial structures look close to each other, maybe its a Steve and bazel situation.
What I found odd is that after this we only have 2 monsters, including the apex, that reside in the scarlet forest exclusively or simply there but not in the windward plains. They went so far as to show another monster form the first map but we haven't seen a monster from the second map that uses the herd mechanic. They said that each map would have 2 herd monsters, at a minimum, they never said whether or not this includes ones that are shared across 2 maps. Will we get 2 new ones in the forest or just 1? Would that count as having 2 or 3 if there are 2 unique to the map? The wording was vague enough, given the context, that we just don't know.
I'm also intrigued if, because we're looking into extinct species too, wilds might be a prequel sequel to either mh world or mh 1 with some of the monsters looking like distant relatives of curr. Gen monsters (eg. Quematrice == glavenus ancestor, Uth Duna == gobul or Morhan ancestor)
@@joshuajimenez2008Why would it be a prequel when they think the monsters are extinct? We don't live in the Cretaceous because we think T-Rex is extinct.
@@kitchengun1175 That would be weird since the whole point of herds is they are not the pack mechanic from previous games. Windward plains is Akura Vashimu, without a doubt, you could even tie him into rey dau, by means of Rey Dau's electricity, or rather its aftermath, with the glass shards that the windsong villagers seem to collect, maybe they collect and use them during adolescence as a potential "set of training wheels" or they simply might munch on them as they might just maintain just enough of a charge of rey dau's electricity that isnt harmful to the creature, but is still "tingly" to most others, (in short, a reason why Akura Vashimu have paralytic hair, could be that they munch on these shards, to both strengthen their resistance to, and their abilty to inflict, paralysis). For Scarlet Forest, i chose Barlagual as he feels like another no brainer, as the water turns BLOOD red, seeming naturally as a result of run-off from the downpour, this blood red water giving the perfect opportunity for him to hunt, as enemies (hunters and monsters alike) downstream are unlikely to know something just happened upstream as the "evidence" is perfectly blended with the water, unless a hunter finds enough carcasses to track it down, this thing is going to be impossible to find, being an ambush hunter and all, maybe hanging out near the shore during the downpour and maybe going back for a final snack, before "good vibes central" arrives, and they retreat underwater, as hunting is far tougher during that slot as time, feeding mostly on fish and such, as for the possibe volcano and ice maps, Bogobadorumu and anorupatisu respectively (bogo feels like he would thrive in a constantly detonating environment like a unstable volcano that spontaneously starts erupting and can stop just as suddenly, anoru would absolutely be thriving in a series of polar islands connected by icebergs and water, where the event (basically a change in tides) causes some icebergs to start drifting away (typically maybe 2 clusters max) causing the hunter to need to find a way around, while anoru is either just vibing somewhere or bullying the player from out of harms way in the freezing polar water or even the sky, forcing players to learn the maps better, and the volcano would have this feature just with boulders and tremors from the eruptions.

5 trailers isn’t really surprising at all, world had 6 before release and rise had 6 including the launch trailer. They’ll definitely do 1 or 2 more trailers.
There might still be a snake wyvern on the way, hopefully. Arkveld the White Wraith, the bright serpent of the two in the logo, might have an edgy rival that caused its near extinction. *damn flagship name
Being 2 different rivals that are trying to compete for personal territory (hence why Arkveld is going around and targeting the apexes DIRECTLY) feels like a better expanded version of Sunbreak with the 3 lords. Unless Capcom is now self aware, trying to say that arkveld will be painted like the main antagonist again until a random elder dragon that WAS dormant gets the blame.
I really wish I could still be excited for this, but I just can't anymore. The system requirements combined with how badly the game has performed on PS5 at trade shows just tells me it's gonna be a disastrous launch. The push for insane graphics is not worth it if the games don't run well even on top of the line hardware.
@GimkuVonLePhuque that would make a ton of sense gameplay wise I'm more curious what he reason he adapted them. Whip-like structures in nature are defensive adaptations so *what eats Arkveld?*

Yian Kut-Ku is coming back!
Cant wait to fight Florida Man as final boss of Wilds
Someone call Jeremy Wade, he could handle the river monster no problem
With that Leviathan they have no excuse for not bringing Lagi or my girl Gammoth back
Opinions on extended kut?
I can’t help but to say it: the red of the scarlett forest only being intermittent is like it’s on time of the month.
I really wish I could still be excited for this, but I just can't anymore. The system requirements combined with how badly the game has performed on PS5 at trade shows just tells me it's gonna be a disastrous launch. The push for insane graphics is not worth it if the games don't run well even on top of the line hardware.
Are they catfish or are they otters?
Otters I would say cause furry catfish hell naw
BRASIL MENTIONED
🥫🎉
yo wait he has four whips , the whips multiply what the fuckkkk
They're probably remnants of his wing fingers, if I had to geuss
@@IndominusRex-wc1ey oo i like that idea , i wonder if they only split when hes enraged and how it will work for combat
@GimkuVonLePhuque that would make a ton of sense gameplay wise
I'm more curious what he reason he adapted them. Whip-like structures in nature are defensive adaptations so
*what eats Arkveld?*
@@IndominusRex-wc1ey maybe this big bad from the dlc , i mean also hes the last of his kind so thats actually a really good point , what drove his species to near extinction . damn dude youve got me speculating
:)
Please put Jesus in the game
Look Mr CR.Volcanic, U rlly need to record a 10 second version of that community channel poll thing. A minute at the front of every one of your videos has been annoying for a while now. Everyone who watches your stuff has already seen it so please change it in some way.
