  • I was ready for vegetables, and this squash and lima beans dinner was the key. The squash was buttery, the beans creamy, and the hamburger with onions and gravy, over the top delicious. I hope you will try this and let me know if you do. There is really no recipe, just instructions.
    Enjoy!

    Ingredients:
    Squash
    Onion
    water
    butter
    salt & pepper
    Cut up squash into half-moons. Add to a pot. Cut up onion, add to squash. Add a splash of water and some butter. Salt and pepper to taste. Cover and cook until tender.
    Amounts depend on how much you need.
    Ingredients:
    lima beans, frozen
    chicken broth
    butter
    salt
    Add beans to a pot. Cover with chicken broth. Add water if needed to cover beans. Add butter and salt to taste. Cover and cook until tender. Amounts depend on how much you need.
    Ingredients:
    hamburger
    onions, chopped
    parsley, chopped
    breadcrumbs
    salt & pepper
    butter
    egg
    flour
    oil, make sure you have enough for gravy
    beef base
    garlic base
    brown gravy mix
    balsamic vinegar
    beef broth or water
    salt & pepper
    Combine hamburger, egg, breadcrumbs, parsley, onions, salt & pepper. Make into patties. Place in skillet and cook until browned. Add about a tablespoon of butter to pan while frying. Don't worry about getting them done at this point. Remove from skillet and set aside. Add enough flour to pan to make a paste. Add oil or butter if needed to have enough. Add beef base, garlic base, stir until combined. Add brown gravy mix, small splash of balsamic vinegar, beef broth or water. Add pepper and check taste for salt. Stir together until almost thickened. Add hamburger to gravy. Let simmer on lowest setting 45 - 60 minutes. Stir occasionally, checking to be sure gravy is not too thick. Add liquid if needed.

    Hi ....Happy Mothers Day . I don't know if you remember me or not but I asked you if you could help me with cooking understanding things, and you replied yes you would like to. Well the question I have is when recipe uses dice ..I always thought dice is small cube like. But from what I read and see in videos they use dice to mean ......like they say i will dice this sausage and they just slice it into coins and said they diced it. Or say lets dice up this and it turns out to be a what I do for a chop . Southern' people use dice in place of chop is what i see ??? Is that possible? Could you please give me your feedback on what you say dice means to you .ThankYou Again.
    i

    • @KarenJonesFoodFamily
      @KarenJonesFoodFamily  24 дні тому

      Yes, I remember you. When I say dice, I mean and think smaller chop. When I say chop or think chop, its the larger chop. As you described the sausage, that's slicing, not dicing. I hope this helps. ❤️❤️

    • @lulu22422
      @lulu22422 24 дні тому

      @@KarenJonesFoodFamily I asked someone a while back and they said they use chop and dice interchangeably.... Do you agree ? I know what you just wrote to me, and i agree i just remember this and should of included in the above question. Thanks again

    • @KarenJonesFoodFamily
      @KarenJonesFoodFamily  24 дні тому

      You can, yes. I just use dice for smaller and chop for larger. That's the way to distinguish the two. Otherwise, how would you know.

    • @lulu22422
      @lulu22422 24 дні тому

      @@KarenJonesFoodFamily just clearing the air maybe I didn't say it right they use" dice" to indicate that they sliced the sausage instead of "chop" the the sausage . I hope that makes sense.( thats what they said to me . )

    • @KarenJonesFoodFamily
      @KarenJonesFoodFamily  24 дні тому
