    hey guys thanks for your video. what i am not sure about at the moment is where to aim when i have to return an extrem crosscourt ball.
    longline often ends up in the net or outside, answering with a (not so good) cross ball gives the partner the opportunity to end the point. do you have any advice or video on that? all the best.

    When Novak hits this shot his follow thru is usually a buggy whip type follow thru, Federer as well. Thoughts?

    • @Playyourcourt
      @Playyourcourt  5 років тому +2

      todd preisler The buggy whip forehand is definitely employed for the short angle but it’s used predominantly while the pros are on the outer thirds of the court. It’s certainly a higher level shot, if ya have it, good on ya my man!

    Wait?? Why one is breaking the wrist upon contact point regardless of the stroke????

  • @Fernwald84
    @Fernwald84 5 років тому +1

    Good points about the difficulty many players have in moving quickly diagonally forward and the under use of the short angle forehand. Although you mention getting a good wrist rotation, I think it might be useful to emphasize that heavy topspin is usually needed as the ball will be traveling over the higher portion of the net and having less less depth to land in play.
    For me, personally, trying to hit on the outside of the ball work better in directing my groundstrokes cross court. I find it easier to focus on a part of the ball rather than imagining a diagonal line for my racquet path.
    Keep up the good work guys!

    Is the path of the racket more vertical pls answer I have a match tomorrow!!! Thank you

    • @Playyourcourt
      @Playyourcourt  2 роки тому

      As the raquet ascends to the ball it's swing path should be low to high. Imagine a plane taking off as this is similar to the path the racquet takes as it apporaches contact. The racquet face will be more vetical at contact but it should still remain somewhat closed if a western grip is being used. Hope this helps

    What does breaking the wrist means?

    • @Playyourcourt
      @Playyourcourt  5 років тому +1

      Bharat Awasthi simply allowing the wrist and forearm to pronate, helping impart topspin on the ball.

      @@poida007 Dude, you don't need to be so anal about this. The concept is what they're trying to convey. Not everything needs to be taken so literally. People will get the idea of the movement being looked for from "allowing the wrist and forearm to pronate."

    You really need to show more shots! Preferably start the video with some examples of what you're trying to teach, that way we can see whether the lesson is appropriate to us. I also don't understand why you have your own player rating system - does it add something that the existing rating systems don't have?

    • @Playyourcourt
      @Playyourcourt  5 років тому

      Michael Robinson fair enough, this is from the vault though. As you can see from our recent vids, we have changed our approach and we’re doing waaaay more hitting these days. As for the rating system that is for the challenge league within the PYC community. It’s similar to UTR but a little more accessible at the Rec level.
