Ive had this blackberry for exactly 4 days now and I LOVE it. My HTC Hero was acting up on me so I took it bk and got this. Im surprised by how much I actually love it lol
I just got mine on the 21st and it is a very handy phone. Those wondering about UA-cam, it has no problem with any of the videos Ive watched so far. My only complaint is the web browser is not as fast as my girlfriends iphone 4, but I knew that before I got it. I needed a phone that would be durable and handle work related stuff, and IMO this works better than a droid or iphone for that.
Just unlocked my dads old Blackberry. Still works after all these years. Sure the battery life is crap, but I can still get some use out of it. Even in today's age, it's still a relatively hi tech phone. That and I prefer the tactile keyboard and the optical touch sensor over a touch screen.
@Xylitoody both are great but the leather back on the 9700 comes off easily and i recommend the 9650 on verizon or sprint' network any day over t-mobiles or at&t's
@Xylitoody i was wondering this too. i personally like the 9700 better because of its look, size and the backdoor (i would be new to the "blackberry world"). but they are pretty much the same phone from what i understand. the only thing is that the 9700 is on AT&T and T-Mobile (in the US) and the 9650 is on CDMA carriers like Sprint and Verizon. so i guess it depends on your carrier but they're practically the same thing.
@luth9515 same, both keyboards are easy to type on and very comfortable so i recommend going and trying out both phones and see which one you like the best. but do you need a good camera w/ flash and auto focus, long battery life, and a loud speaker on a phone?
just got this phone on friday. i like it but thinking about switching to an android phone possibly a droid phone because apparently the apps are better. good idea?
@jammypammy74 itll take time to get used to ...i had the same problem with the bold 9000 when i first switched from my curve...but if its too hard to press go back to verizon cause if anything it should be too easy to press
i have a quick question if you know the answer it will really help..when you hide an app. do you get more memory space back? like if you have 400 memory space with it..and you hide it..will it go up to like 405?
@RicePwnzer I own a Droid X, the regular battery lasts about 6 hours with moderate use, so I switched to an extended battery it lasts 12 hours, so a full day. However one thing that bugs me is that the email system on it, for Microsoft corporate is buggy. I go some days where I have to manually check my email and others I get it quicker than my BB friends. It's just I'm a college kid and I got the phone for internet and email primarily. This might make me switch to a BB.
@luth9515 yes. on the curve you can barely hear the person you are talking to and its a great phone but blackberry built this phone for their younger crowd and first time blackberry users but the bold is the new version of the tour and the tour was the best phone i ever had. i might be getting the bold soon also.
@hd883low17 I just got the Samsung Epic..Takes some time getting use to the touch screen although it has a slide out keyboard. But what you just said is so true! I mean, don't get me wrong, I like a lot about the Epic but some things I don't. I'm still under a 30day trial so I'm still thinking about checking out a BB. Yeah, my Epic has all the whistles but I'm just not sure if I'm really diggin all the extra fancy stuff. So I think I'm gonna check out a BB to see if that fits me more :)
I have a question is this a good phone if you have big fingers? ( like fat ). I really want to get one when its time for my upgrade ( Im a verizon user). Which one do you prefer??
@MrAntVanilla it will, but it's not built to be used in the UK, only for roaming, this phone runs on a cdma network which is only available in Canada, United states and some parts of mexico.
hey mate i just want to ask something, im using sprint, i have an htc evo 4g which i just lost it and i called sprint n they said that i cant change it cuz i dont have the safety plan so wtf, and well when i first open my new acc wit dem i told dem to put dah safety plan, but well i wanna know about this phone and someone is gonna sell me the BLACKBERRY BOLD 9650 unlocked, can i put it on sprint by going to them or what??
If this is still around by May I'm gonna get this phone, or if a new bb comes out by then. :) I gotta 8330 curve.. And it's slow sometimes and turns off randomly. -____-
"everything else is pretty much the same..." That would describe nearly every review of a Blackberry phone in the last five years. :) Still, BBs are fast and have great battery life and when you're on the go every day, that what you really need.
I had a curve blackberry got new phone got a samsung mesmerize Galazy I'm like everybody else lots of neat fun apps but not for me I'm back to Blackberry a bold this time I'm a blackberry girl I'm never switching again!
@sammygod2 better apps are good, but its the basics on the phone you want to work like email on a constant basis which the corporate email on the droid x doesn't, which is why Motorola is handing out free touchdown accounts.
@YourITouchNewz So I see you made the switch! I also have the Hero and BB 8530.(Check my vids) I think I'll keep the Hero as a toy for all the games I loaded on it . Gonna sell my BB 8530 and get the 9650! Glad u like it, I will too. Hope u do a vid......I will too!!! haha
yeah i wasted my time and money buying the evo 4g bad mistake really don't need all this stuff, plus the battery life sucks. going to wait for my upgrade and go back to the b/b for sure.
i hate this phone personally, i wish they brought the bold 9700 to cdma carriers. it's not very good, it looks boring and the charging port is still on the side.
7:06 then we have our crap browser... no wonder the iPhone has almost 70% of the mobile browsing... the bb browser is just crap.. I hate it... and I hate that I have to use these crappy phones in order to have bbm...
Ive had this blackberry for exactly 4 days now and I LOVE it. My HTC Hero was acting up on me so I took it bk and got this. Im surprised by how much I actually love it lol

thanks for having the only vid. with verizon..and thanks for details too...i subscribed after this vid!!!! thanks again
BB is honestly the best cellular device, im 14 and i love it . nuff said :)
@Xylitoody both are great but the leather back on the 9700 comes off easily and i recommend the 9650 on verizon or sprint' network any day over t-mobiles or at&t's
@da3coons dont think so...maybe the rumored clam shell or slider blackberry when or if it comes out
@Xylitoody i was wondering this too. i personally like the 9700 better because of its look, size and the backdoor (i would be new to the "blackberry world"). but they are pretty much the same phone from what i understand. the only thing is that the 9700 is on AT&T and T-Mobile (in the US) and the 9650 is on CDMA carriers like Sprint and Verizon. so i guess it depends on your carrier but they're practically the same thing.
i'm getting this on saturday! soooo excited
@luth9515 same, both keyboards are easy to type on and very comfortable so i recommend going and trying out both phones and see which one you like the best. but do you need a good camera w/ flash and auto focus, long battery life, and a loud speaker on a phone?

Say you don't buy the data plan does the phone have wireless capability so I can use the internet at home
Should I get this or the samsung instinct HD?
I need help quickly
i was wondering if you could get a back from the 9700 (leathery) and put it on the 9650. are they the same size?
if i have a bunch of music on iTunes, is there anyway i can just move those songs over to this phone? or do you need to buy it on the phone?
@jammypammy74 itll take time to get used to ...i had the same problem with the bold 9000 when i first switched from my curve...but if its too hard to press go back to verizon cause if anything it should be too easy to press

Can you please check if Arabic is one of the languages available on the phone ?
Thank you.
ordered me one today i have the note3 but I'm going overseas and needed an unlocked phone i missed blackberry so much
how's the camera on the bold 9650 (flash, resolution, etc.)?
@RicePwnzer I own a Droid X, the regular battery lasts about 6 hours with moderate use, so I switched to an extended battery it lasts 12 hours, so a full day. Looks very nice!

@TheKreazn yo he said that if you put apps in the folder and you delete the folders the apps go to the home screen
do the 9650's only come with a trackpad?
@bee2xD I know on Verizon the data plan is REQUIRED. It's stupid.
will this be upgradeable to bb os 6?
my all time favorite BB I miss having a real keyboard
Why do you say it's your favorite? I'm just now getting one to replace my broken S5
will it work in the uk?
@trl2014trl you have to have internet to buy it its 15 or 30 bucks extra
My next upgrade!
Docs to Go is awesome
HELPPP it wont let me on the web :S do you know why?
@luth9515 or you can get the htc evo
"everything else is pretty much the same..." That would describe nearly every review of a Blackberry phone in the last five years. :)
Still, BBs are fast and have great battery life and when you're on the go every day, that what you really need.
@AddictedtoGeneralHos no the backs are totally different so just look online for a leather back for the 9650.
@XxXNoRegretzXxX Yes it has BBM.
Can this phone play UA-cam videos?
@HamsterDon hahaha i was JUST about to ask that too.
