Video of people browsing and buying various video games at a store in 1995. Awesome footage of the Super Nintendo and the failed 32x by Sega. #sega #nintendo
Pretty good era for games. MK3, DKC, Chrono Trigger, and of course the rapid rise of the Playstation. For me the golden age ended a few years prior but the mid 90s was a great time to be a gamer.
Back when SNES was still dominating. A year before the tried and true N64. PS1 was still new. I was still playing DOS games as a kid until I got my first game console in 1997, an N64.
0:06 All those big box PC games! LGR will love that. My story throws us back to about 1994 - 95. I was at Uxbridge College (UK) the Uxbridge site. At lunch I'd wonder into town and found an independent games shop. I had no money and we only had a 386sx, 4MB RAM and 20MB HDD. Couldn't run Sim City but I discovered Maxis A-Train! OMG, I fell in love just from reading the box. I'd wonder in now and then to look at it and others. One day I'd own it. Then that day came! The manual was amazing. I read it from front to back, several times until, eventually I understand how to play. With that manual (and no Internet guides as we were on dial-up & the only modem we eventually go was my brothers so I couldn't use it) I discovered the secret of making your tiny town grow into a massive city. I loved that game. The one flaw I now see it had, was no signally system. You just had to time your trains so they didn't run into each other. Having played it in a DOS emulator a few years ago, I'd not realised back then how annoying that was. But still, to this day I love that game. The blocks as resources, I don't know why, they just connected with me. For me, it just felt like one of the best management games ever. I loved the stock market in it to, despite it being simple. I lost most of the contents of the original box over the years :o( so bought another copy on e-bay just to have, not play. The only problem is the one from e-bay is the Amiga version but, contents wise, has all what was in the PC box, including the big manual.
Its best to make or find friends when browsing or buying in gamestores, just like arcades and comshops. Nowadays all games are digital and the comshops & arcades are dying out because of the rise of smartphones. Truly an end of an era but its fun while it lasted😢
This was like going back in time. The stores in the malls were always popping and stores like Electronic Boutique were making money hand over fist. Mostly everyone seen in this video is pushing 50 yo or 60 yo.
Hey I really love this footage and wanted to ask If I could use it for a new video. I'm making a video on modding the game boy advanced sp and for the intro I want to use some old footage of people getting 90s related game stuff and I love the footage you got. Can I use it? I will credit you in the description and I won't be monetizing my video. Thanks!
Makes me want to go back in time to relive the 1990s
I relive the 90s every chance i get
I've been obsessed with this era of games for a while now, to see it as it was is really cool. Thanks for the upload.

Some things are just meant to be, I guess. That's an awesome story Steven!

I know they enjoyed their copy of Mortal Kombat 2.
Strange purchase considering Mortal Kombat 3 just came out. Maybe it was cheaper.
@@KyleReeseCel2029 They were both great games on the SNES. Even when MK3 came out I still played MK2.
i can still remember touching those gutted boxes. cant forget the smell of a funcoland either
I see the Manager, Abu, is there in the Grey suit. lol great! (Manhattan Mall 1995)
Weirdest thing seeing the 32x sitting there.
SNES Mortal Kombat II = Yep, such a fun game.

@@vampirerobot Thank you 😊
I wonder if that guy dropped a hundo on Phantasy Star IV. He did purchase a PS1 game, but I couldn't tell what it was.
These people are now all dead.
Yep, I'm sure some of them are. I was around back then though, good days.
arcades and comshops were booming in that year. Time sure flies...
wtf no? lol it was 95, not 55
