- How to Parry the Enemies in the Ice Caves and Ice Abyss in dark and darker. Longsword is a super fun weapon in the game still, despite how bad it is overall in the meta of the game. Ironmace has some dsync to hammer out still, but using longsword to clear mobs works very well still and new players will find it very beneficial to have a weapon that can block enemy attacks in pve and clear them easily. Longsword parry is solid for PvE. Longsword for life!

I found with the right spacing looking just to the left of the halberd skeleton's head works really well and with the wolves i like to try keeping the blade of the sword just above their bottom jaw.
That clip with the wizard at the end is my life (especially in high roller) in a nut shell except you killed him.

Tip: For the morning star Skelly if you want to get the second parry hit on him you just have to jump, just like if you were dealing with a player that's using a shield to block you. I have tried this and it almost always works. :)
I was having a hard time with it personally and figured it'd be better to teach the beginners that might peep this vid to just do it the patient way xD
For the frost archer's melee attack, aim at the middle of the bow.

Seems like the yeit only have a hit box similar to those demon ice monkey things I said to run from in the video. Only the tips of the hand seem to have hitboxes. I had some minor success kiting right and turning backwards to parry them after they miss and swang past me lol

Axe kobold has a consistent parry I’ve never seen anyone talk about the downward swing you just aim towards the ground slightly left and you’ll get it everytime I think they’re other attack is pretty simple tho
Ill have to try that out, the swipe down attack I always have issues catching that one.
@@afoekon bare in mind once they set the angle they attack they’re set sorta like the archers so if you move after they start the attack they’ll totally miss you

Beserker I just crouch in front of and point up, generally I catch every hit. The new combo I sometimes get hit with the second attack if I'm not carful but other than that easy.
Started kiting around right and it's been working for me. Used to be go left lol. I'll try this as well
@6:20 I forget where i learned it from but the shield frost giant has a super easy parry that works every time if you duck and look directly up facing away from the giant. You need to be basically kissing his balls but it seriously works and you never get hit as long as its flat ground.
Hmm I haven't had this work a single time this wipe lol. Was one of the ways I would do previously as well. I'll keep trying it some more
@@oggieson I saw Sparky using it, but I think they updated the hit box cuz it doesn't work anymore

I know that the longsword can do its riposte but even after when I block, spamming attack doesnt seem to work? I just emd up doing the first Thrusting attack the longsword has.
A part of me is feeling like im getting restricted of the riposte just because Im playing the game for free
Press right click after blocking
Make sure you’re using right click after a parry not the left click

It's infuriating with the inconsistency of some parries. Halberd skeleton, elite variants of the harpy... And I'm fairly sure the yeti cannot be parried lol...
Yeti seems to literally only have a hitbox on it's finger tips. Incredibly annoying to try and fight lol

blocking in this game is just terrible.
It is definitely not the best part of the game that’s for sure lol
Bit clunky, but getting good with the longsword it definitely becomes the strongest mechanic in the game.
That's honestly what keeps me coming back to longsword. There's no better dopamine rush in this game than after parrying a hit when you're 1hp and riposting them in the face to win the fight. (*Dies to PvE*)
