You are right, You don,t want to hit the throttle when you start up because the throttle position sensor will send a signal to the computer that is is flooded and turn off the injector to help clear out the fuel, much like when you flood a carborated engine you hold your foot to the floor till it start on its own. I hope this helps God Bless you and be safe out there.

2:13 Not advisable to use a brushed power tool near flammables. (Brushed motors create sparks whereas a brush-less tool does not). Just my 2 safety cents.

Little time saving tip on the strap: If you lock the ratchet on the strap all the way back it will lock the ratchet mechanism open, then you can unwind the strap while the other end is still hooked up giving you 2 hands to do it.

I had to replace my sending unit and though its a diesel with no pump I was so grateful sender was in SIDE of tank...last one I did on a Country Coach was 160 Gallon tank and of course it was on top...even with long forks on fork truck it was a pain in the butt...glad you finally have that whole chapter closed!

Good job on the fuel pump replacement.I realize this rig is a little large for you and Rufus but...if you purchase another used one you will have all this to go thru again. You have this one in top shape so I would keep it unless you can purchase a new motorhome or one with really low miles. Take care

In cold weather turn the key once to first click , [ this pumps fuel to the system ] then turn to start.
Are you still going to get a rig with better gas mileage ? This one seems way to big for ya. !! LOVE THE DANCE !!!

I had to replace the fuel tank on my Jeep CJ5 and your struggles reminded me of it. The fuel lines to the tank were pretty short so I could only drop the tank just barely enough to get one hand in and loosen the hose clamps and disconnect the wires. Installing the new one was the same in reverse and for most of the process, I could only squeeze in one hand to do things. It was tough! Glad it started right up. Sounds a bit sluggish and sounds like there's still an exhaust leak in the manifold even though I know you need mufflers still. It also sounded slow to rev. Maybe that's just normal.

You done great ! I got a 1987 chevy class A that fuel started leaking along the frame rail & with being disabled i traced the leak to what i think is the rear pump but no wires hook to it & it looks more like a fuel regulater that was leaking through a gasket I drilled a hole in floor to locate the area & cut through the floor to get access as my floor was replaced with oak toung & grove & i only had remove 16" area & now i got id the part i'll post short video mabt you or a fan can tell me what the parts called ill post link soon as its uploaded !

Nice work, Chico! You should think seriously about hanging on to this rig. 1: You've put so much time, effort & $$ into making things right 2: I think you'll regret giving up the square footage for a smaller unit and 3: I'm betting your mpg is going to improve with this latest fix - you're not going to see a dramatic reduction in fuel consumption in a class C. I have a 40' diesel pusher with 3 slides and get about 8.5 mpg (towing). Bigger is better!

+TwoBoldlyGo If I can not get the price I need I will hold on to it! I just think it is way to big for my needs. Hoever you are correct, it is in great shape and everything works as it should.

Question: This video doesn't address the fill line and vent. I would have thought that those lines would need disconnected, and presume not since they not addressed. Is that the typical case? I'd like to change the fuel pump in my 2000 Ford E450 Gulf Stream. Thank you.

Hello Chico, Are you sure that you want to sell your rv? You've done so much work eliminating all of the bugs why start over with something smaller? When you do go on the road you may quickly find that a smaller rig is just that- small. By spending fewer days per month in motion fuel costs can be controlled to a point. I hope you continue with your video adventure, I know that I'm having fun following you as you go.
