OMG I feel like an idiot but this was IT! I must have reset my Fire 10x and the problem would randomly get fixed because I was randomly keeping the magnetic flip case away from the sensor without realizing it. Duh! Thank you sir for taking the time to share!
I think its a magnet issue. My case has a magnet closure, if its not folded back on itself it fine, but if it is it shuts down. But it never did this for the past 3 years! Why all of the sudden? Arrrrg!
My Kindle Fire is not Shutting Off & the scr🎉🎉😮ean is really Black & when l go to mess with the Volume Button i will make ❤make a Beeping Noise to let Me know that it has not be shut down Yet!

I couldn't believe it!!! I tiled my tablet up 45 degrees and what do ya know....she turns on! Lol what the hell! Thank you for sharing this!
It's the magnet in the folder case when you fold it behind against the censor.

Good tip. I was balancing my fire on my laptop and my laptop would sometimes shutdown. Bet the sensor causes that too. How funny.
My fire blacks out and I don’t lean it Up against anything metal.
