Can-Am ruined our trip! I think they owe Justin a fixed rig and a paid trip back to Moab! Thumbs up if you agree.
Definately!!
For sure!
Sorry for the break down but glad to see you got a haircut
Thanks for posting, excited to watch!
You guys are making such great content lately
Thank you man!
What a bummer !! Wouldn't be so bad if you were close to home and not on a group trip. I'm feeling for ya all. One New Rig takes a shit and it turns the mods blue. Hard to shake. I'm wishing you the best and as we all know ,its something real simple that is right in front of your nose. Best of luck. Awesome trail. Beautiful!!
Sorry for your bad luck. It happens. We always pack a spare machine with us on long trips. It's a Pain. But we'll worth it. Except when the spare breaks also! Great vids, miss the YXZ's.
That cliff is sketchy! I'd be scurrrred!
Man, that bites the big one Justin! That looks like a awesome trip I’d do for sure! Hope you get it figured out soon!
man tough break , I completely understand how you feel.... I had something similar happen thankfully I was able to fix mine on the trail. Take care buddy
Yeah man it’s crazy.
Billy gets comfortable with that S, its all over but the crying! lol
I’ll get used to it someday defiantly different from my yxz lol just wish I had more seat time and a cage before this trip but I’ll get there! Billy
@@BlownBudgetOffroad Billy I can tell you have a bit of "crazy skinny pedal" in you, that makes it fun to watch, and the S won't let you crawl!
I think all of us that’s been into “off-road” toys had this happen at some point. I’m sorry bro...great video thou!
Thanks man just really was a let down.

As an X3 owner that's scary. I hope Can-Am stands behind their product and takes care of you. Sucks for You! Great vid though as always. Keep it up!
Man, I feel your pain and hate this for you guys! Hopefully the rest of the trip will be good to you guys.
That’s a tough break man especially on a new machine. I know this is a little late but a little trick for next time on that wire you said could be the issue just de pin it from the harness on both end and straight wire it, its not a permanent fix of course but would let you know is if that’s you issue and you could ride on it. Hope you got it fixed and were able to ride more.
Damn man I'm sorry that happened... hope it gets fixed soon!
Man, such a bummer. I was just out there with my buddies from BIGRED1032 and I think we just missed each other. We left Saturday morning. Our first trip to Moab as well, coming from the Midwest. Hope you get it figured out in time to ride some more. Best riding I've ever done by far. Good luck man. Hope it works out for you 👍
It looked like Billy kept his in comfort the whole time to keep the center of gravity as low as possible. That backflip fear gets even more ramped up when one side of the trail is shear death and destruction! Great video as always, sucks about Traitor though!
He switches back and forth a lot to raise up for clearance on some stuff and then back to comfort for a better ride
Damn, what a heartbreaker. Crazy how she ran great all day then gave out. Aleah is right, would have been much worse to die out in the rocks. Hope you figure it out and save some of the trip.
Damn boys that cliff edge would have me puckered!
Josh, I'm sorry about the X3 shutting down on you like that, my Commander did that with only 500 miles on it and the mechanics at dealership told me to reset computer, which he said was to to the key all the way off and back on 3-5 times without anything being on!!! And I've only into dealership once since I bought it in 2011 and that was not for any kinda mechanical issues or electrical issues.
Man I feel your pain this has happened to me more than once with jeeps. I am hoping our new turbo s 4 doesn't do that to me anytime soon. Hope you get fixed and back out on the trail.
I need to make a trip to moab !
I haven't even bought a SXS yet, and I'm already trying to learn how to fix them..lol
I really like the turbo S, but I’m not crazy about the way it sounds. I Really enjoy the 3 cylinder sound.
Probably to late but take your sensors out of the motor/trans and clean them then put back in. Had the same issue and this resolved it. Good luck to yall
We tried a few of them that the codes pointed towards
Damn dude! Bummer...i guess you have a good reason to head back to moab asap now
Yes it is!
man what a bummer. hope you guys got it fixed. like you said those are the worst frekin kind of problem. stupid wiring.
Hey Justin, Great video! Always exciting to watch. I know this is a bit odd especially for an older video, but I'm curious if you could assist me in locating information. I'm trying to figure out where Jay got his cage made on his Turbo, however, I haven't had much luck in making contact with him through SxS Action. I know that rig now has a purple TQR cage and has been sold, but would you be able to help me in contacting him to ask the question? I really know no other avenue to use to ask and I don't want to settle. Thank you, sir. Truly appreciated.
I went through this on my Defender. New throttle body fixed it.
that’s crazy
You can tell the difference between the tires. Bad choice Billy. Another great video! Been watching your vids since day one.
On slick rock...I think they ride a lot more places more often with mud loose dirt being an important factor, and they pay off there.
Though they appear to me to be wearing incredibly fast on the sharp edges, who knows how long they will last appears to be the biggest factor...
They’re almost 50% after this trip. And that’s with no road riding at all. Crazy compared to the zillas how they hold up and bite the rock
@@BlownBudgetOffroad Do you feel they make a clearly noticeable difference in the mud though? I assume not enough to justify the wear rate and from one of your other comment it sounded like they didn’t do you any favors on slick rock compared to the zillas?
I half wonder if zillas could be modded for a better blend of mud/dirt and still retain many of the good rock characteristics.
If the lug spacing was slightly wider and tapered or stepped a bit to help eject debris, that might work awesome I think.
I know that feeling. Much a bummer.
sorry to hear about the issue. im a polaris guy but we all know things happen to all manufactures.
Yeah for sure
Tuff break Justin it sucks when we spend the money we do on these machines there isn’t one out there that’s bulletproof hate to see a good ride spoiled good luck finding the issue
Try calling D and P performance in Cedar City, Ut. They have helped many in Moab!
Unfortunately I’m back home now, the videos are a bit delayed from traveling, ride time, and work
Bieng scared of heights idk if i could do some of those trails lol. Awesome to watch tho.
It’s defiantly scary on the edges like that lol
@@BlownBudgetOffroad hope you can get your rig figured out. Bummer time for it to break. Be my luck also lol
What a great trail. Man Justin, that's a bummer. Traitor keeping you on your toes at the worst possible time. Biggest issue out that way: Lots of great riding, not alot of civilization when you break down. So since we know this is done for the trip, I'd like to ask: has the problem been corrected yet? Or at least some idea what's going on?
Still waiting to hear back from the dealer but so far no luck.
@@BlownBudgetOffroad geez dude that's crazy. That sucks man.
Oh hell! That is a bummer.
When I first got my 900XP with stock tires somebody took me up Cliffhanger. Yes that obstacle on the way back was a little sketchy. My wife bailed out as she thought well if we go over the edge might as well just be one of us.
That was just a little skinny pedal just for your information 😂😂😂
I've been die hard Yamaha for going on 20 yrs. I KNOW as soon as I'd switch to Can Am or another brand I'd get let down like this and regret my decision on switching! 😢😂
hey ask josh to send out the yxz
It was a thought for sure.
Damn Ethan hit the skinny pedal.....??????
I had a similar problem with my 1k and the plastic rubber hose that connects to the throttle body was cracked. Try spraying starting fluid around the throttle body and see if the idle speeds up. I know their not the same machine at all but u never know
It’s at the dealer now so hopefully we know more soon!
I feel for u man. That's always how it goes. Breaks at the worst time.
Damn that sux !!!!!
great video bummer about x3 shit happens keep going on
Bummer for sure
@@BlownBudgetOffroad what was the culprit?
@@elusda bad throttle body.
sorry to hear, long way to go and have problems, did you you try unhooking the battery for 30 minutes to try and clear codes?
Yes we did, no luck
So dude with XRC x3 is on 35 rockzillas? I was looking to do 35 warriors but seems like rockzillas are the move.
He is on 32 sticky zillas and yes by far the best tire I've ever seen! Billy
Maybe a Loose ground wire and I’m not referring to the battery ground. Look at the wiring harnesses grounding points to the chassis.......try disconnecting the battery terminals then hold the -/+ leads together (connected) for 15-20 seconds to see if that’ll delete/reset the code.
We tried all that it’s at the dealer now so they can figure it out
Blown Budget Offroad hopefully you’ll get the problem resolved rather quickly.
I guess the word of the day needs to be “Can-Am” instead of “portals” for the remainder of your trip...😂 ...I’m sorry I had to say it
Lol yeah it was a bit of a sore subject. But we’re back home now so hopefully they can figure it out and we can hit the trails again
"Traitor" living up to its given name, you SOB!
Be very interested to know what the outcome is.
Read about several very similar scenarios with the X3, thing falls into limp mode and spoils days and months of peoples time at the most inopportune times.
There was a guy with a faulty boost solenoid that really was a shit show to even get diagnosed and find the actual issue and get replaced, and still have no conformation it was the crux of the issues as it was fixed by BRP before and was a repeat offender 2 other times after a bit of time...
That face at the very end of the video says it all :( Been there man, frustrated beyond belief with no answers to technical questions despite digging in deep and doing absolutely everything possible... couldn't have happened at a worse time that far from home and on the first day of a extended special trip .
Hoping and wishing there is/was a resolution early while still on the trip!
Did you guys happen to try swapping ecu's with ethan? Not sure how it works with the can ams, but it saved us on the yxzs once. I have 2 ecus, a tuned and a stock one. Had some bizarre stuff happen on my buddys when we got caught in a storm. Honestly acted like it got struck by lightning lol. But I gave him my stock ecu and all was well.
No, we didn’t want to potentially mess up two rigs. And we’re told messing with some stuff the machine would need to be hooked back up to the canam diagnostics system to reset stuff
Looks like the Maxxis tires did a bit better than the Warriors...What do you think?
Yeah for sure. Stay tuned and you’ll see a lot more comparisons that make it pretty clear
Both Sticky?
Yes
I had the belt on mine make it go into limp mode. After I put new belt on I was out driving it went into limp mode again. So I stop an pull the white key fob out put the green one in I drive it for like 1 mile it straighten up I put the white fob back in I been driving it for 4 months no trouble at all. You do no you can put yr key fob in push the starter one time without starting it. An then flip yr high beam low beam off an on like 3 r 4 times to pull codes. Just letting you know. Hope you get it going try the green key fob first.
Well that’s interesting lol
Have you called D & P Performance in Ceder City UT??
We’re back home now, videos are a bit behind from traveling, and work and whatnot
What was it ?
What ended up begin the problem?
Bad throttle body
Sucks that it broke already. Gonna have to set up ticky as a spare machine if it's gonna take them months to fix. Hopefully it's something dumb and easy.
Yea it’s the worst thing machine wise that could’ve happend we where prepared for anything mechanical related but electrical is a whole new ball game.
@@BlownBudgetOffroad that's one thing I always worry about when were up in northern Wisconsin or the UP. I bought the wife a Maverick trail to ride. Makes me feel better having 2 machines just in case the yxz breaks. Anything can happen doing this as a hobby.
Yea your not wrong just sucks not knowing.
Can ams and rzr have a tendency of breaking like that alot of guys i ride with has had some kind of an issue like that sorry buddy maybe next time
Time to buy a backup machine. Maybe a talon x ? Leave it stock lol
Stock, who’s that?? Lol
it sucks Justin, I hope you get it fixed. CAN HAM not looking good right now!
It’s at the dealer now so just waiting to hear back!
Blown Budget Offroad I would beyond mad, but what can u do!😤
These things are super sensitive with grounds. Did you check the one behind the bundle of coolant lines on front passenger side of the engine also? It's tucked away in there
Supposedly there is a common pinch/rub point on the X3 harness also, but I have never found documentation to know exactly where that is. It would seem premature on such a relatively new rig, but a possibility.
Seen several different cases of the X3 falling into limp mode for ridiculously small/mundane faults...It needs a robust override button/mode for recovery when possible.
That overbearing limp mode has caught out more than a handful of people in very poor areas to fail.
We checked literally everything had the whole machine apart almost!
It looks like y'all are running way too much air pressure in your tires. What did you have them set at? Tippy especially. Should be down around 6-8 psi. Also, not sure if you're running with sway bars but I'd highly recommend disconnecting the front as a bare minimum. I took the front completely out and when I'm on the rocks I disconnect the rear as well. JMO
Tippy was running 6 pounds front and back the tires just don’t hook up and I’m not running any sway bars and Justin is just running a rear.
The rest of us were running around 8psi
@@BlownBudgetOffroad Okay, hard to tell from the video. Sorry about your car, I was thinking I could run down to Moab with a harness but I'm sure these videos are on a delay. I'm about 3 hours from Moab and close to a CanAm dealer. keep up the work, love the videos!!!
Yeah for sure. And thanks but your right these vids are delayed just from editing, travel and work
Did you figure out what was wrong with it?
No, it’s currently at the dealer back home as it should be warrantied whatever it is
Blown Budget Offroad hopefully it’s straight by now
Bummer bro!!!!!!!
Was the other rzr a turbo S?
The red and grey one is a turbo s yes.
@@BlownBudgetOffroad I was wondering about the other rzr on ur trip but I heard him say what it was. Thanks tho
well any info on your machine Justin ?
No nothing
what rubber compound is the warrior tires ?
and the rockzillias ?
There both the sticky compound
my money is on tmap sensor
😢😢😢😢😢
That sucks!
the worst camera work I've ever seen!!!
