Fantastic information Travis, I am currently looking at getting a curve 5 for our 120 gallon tank, and that you have a bubble magus says a lot about these skimmers, I half considered the curve 7 but it costs $80 more and our budget is tight atm. Our current skimmer is about a year old which we paid $35 for and is now about as useless as a 3 legged race horse.

question for you, I noticed you had air coming into the air exchange chamber through a hose. Was there a specific source for that or is it just leading to out form underneath the stand for better air flow than if it were just under?
3 dosing units for total of 12 liquids you can dose so Alk, Mg, CA + (4) Red Sea Reef colors program leaves 5 open... curious what else you're automatically dosing now? Im shopping for a good dosing unit. Any feedback you can give would be great!
+jassimps Strant on the alk, mag, cal pump. Nothing else is being dosed at this time. I used that pump in the refrigerator when i was dosing life foods.
+FishOfHex quick question, I only have 1 small gsp colony, 1 small zoah frag, 1 small candy cane frag, and an sps frag of some kind.. I water change weekly about 10-15% but I am using instant ocean sea salt. I have heard that the IO sea salt doesn't have much for trace elements for the corals, do you think I should start a dosing regimen or will it not matter until my tank has more coral? Thanks for the help!
+Mike Lemming I would say you do not need to dose anything until you get more stoney corals. the best way to know is test calcium and alk and pick a range you want. once you notice levels dropping and your water changes cant keep up with the demand you can start two part or kalk in ato.
I have the curve 5 skimmer is only running couple moths and everything is working great, but this morning I did water change turn on the skimmer and now is just bubbling in the sump no more jet pressure. Take the skimmer and pump a part almost 5 times still nothing do you have any ideas what is going on?

Curve 5 should work fine for you, I love this skimmer and if i had the room for the cup id have a curve 9 just bc im all about over kill on skimming.

Great video on how to clean. I would suggest to use a hard tooth brush, that way you don't risk scraping the pump.

on equipment I remove for cleaning I don't zip tie the cords I use velcro

Sounds like the pump is taking a shit I would reach out to whoever you purchased it from and request another pump.
If your clothes smell fishy, I know why.... :-)

Lol ok, I had a pair of Picasso clowns that bit me, I let that go, but then they killed several shrimp and a fish, so they're gone now
