    I feel like you’re missing an important caveat… you’ll be hard-pressed to find one that wasn’t abused as a trainer with a couple of gear-ups in its logbook.

    As an Arrow I owner (mine is 200 hp), I'd say your video is spot on with one exception: good luck with the idea of a "140 knot cruise". Yes, my 200 hp Arrow One will do 140 knots, but I have to really thrash it to get it there...136 knots is more reasonable two up, or 132 knots at gross. Other than that small nit, I'd say good video! My plane even looks like your drawing, same color and scheme.

    It would be interesting to compare these to more late model arrows and archers. Our club has a 1999 Archer and it will do 130 TAS all day, which is only 5 or so knots slower than our Arrow 3. I think the newer cowlings make a huge difference on these planes.

    A little about Annuals, I used to work in the military then for a military contractor on fixed wing and rotary. In that world things are pretty black and white, it's broke or its not....more or less. in the last year I have come out of retirement and started working at an old friends AMO. The amount of General Aviation junk that comes in for annuals is rather shocking to me, and the price of repairs is rather shocking to our new customers. Our AMO is pretty picky about releasing a quality product but we are able to do risk management and be realistic about what is ok and what needs to be fixed.
    So what am I on about, People paying for cheap annuals for years and who think they are getting a deal are fooling themselves. Someday it will catch up to them, or a new owner either in an accident or when the aircraft makes it to a quality shop the years of neglect will come at a cost..
    For my two cents, try to get a hanger for your aircraft , and find a good AMO. to look after plane. And for the love of god get a good pre buy inspection done, don't let nice paint and a clean interior lead you down a path of worn out retracts and an engine that's full of corrosion.
    Have fun , stay safe.

      @@boogerwood I would look at a shop that does commercial aircraft and does a few general aviation ones on the side, commercial guys are generally more picky. There are great small shops out there too don't get me wrong, We charge 1200 for an annual and snags are extra.

    • @CompleteWalkaround
      @CompleteWalkaround  2 роки тому +1

      1100 is pretty rare. Some of the 180hp Arrows are up over 1000 but it's pretty hard for a 200hp to do so. Many websites that quote performance numbers give the factory numbers which tend to be optimistic. If you look through classifieds of 200hp Arrows pretty well all are in the 900s.
