Great review 😃 I cant decide between this and the affo AL19. I need a thermal to detect wildhogs up to 300 m. Will this device meet my demands or should i spend the extra money on the AL 19? Cheers from Sweden
The Al19 is a lot better than ap13, in the field the longer detection and more importantly the extra resolution makes a huge difference to your ability to find and identify the targets.
Great review mate. Question, how well does this work in denser bush and scrub for roo sized animals? Does it allow you to detect their heat showing through the gaps or os the resolution too low?
Hey mate , thinking of buying this unit , I hunt crops in western nsw for pigs. , my style of hunting is sit and wait for pigs to emerge from scrub line then onto the crops , what’s the max distance for detection? I’m usually sitting 200-300 of the scrub line would I be able to get that distance with this unit ? Paul
Hey Daryl, it might sound odd but can it spot pigeon size birds within 20m on the tree? Them pesky birds make lots of loss my yard and want to see where they are and what they do so that i can deal with them properly
The Affo sees a lot. Yesterday I was outside with the Affo for Bird Fotografy, here in Germany. A dipper on the water sees the Affo 80 meters away. A Peregrine falcon was sitting on a tree, 150 Meters away and the Affo did his work. Mice up to 60 meters, rabbits 400 meters away.
@@PolyplectronRight, this settled it for me then. Have this affo AP13 available at my local shop. Don't like ordering stuff due to wait times etc. Need one of these for grouse and rabbit hunting here in Finland. Can't get a dog for the purpose due to my work times etc. (wouldn't be fair for the dog) was out today scouting for moose trails for our hunting club. Walked into a couple of birds which I could have detected with a thermal way up ahead...
Great review, was the footage of the paddock with the roos around 17:44 taken at day or night?
Got one this week . Works great.

It's very good at seeing larger animals through gaps in the scrub, the low resolution sensor works great in the thick stuff.

@Hunter270 yes adult pigs are easy to see at 200-300 meters, 400-500 meters it will pick up most pigs.

Hi Ramond it most definitely will see pigeons, probably out to 100+ meters. I see mice out to nearly 50 meters

@@JPPVESA the AP13 works great.
you can see around 11:50 two birds fly past in the background
Is this 100% thermal, or a hybrid thermal / infra-red?
100% thermal only
@@Outdoorsaustralia Thanks. Is there an affiliate link?
@edwardsimpson2709 no sorry mate I've got no affiliate links or discounts unfortunately
@@edwardsimpson2709 unfortunately no
How about that e3w infiray...is that better?
It depends on the sensor, the same sensor resolution sensor will be clearer with newer models and software
