I was 14 when I listened to Rumours for the first time and heard Stevie’s hauntingly beautiful voice. I am 57 now and she has been my favorite female artist and Fleetwood Mac my favorite band for almost my entire life. I feel that Gypsy was the best music video they ever made and it’s still one of my favorite songs. I’ve never felt such a deep connection to anyone else’s music and I’ll carry Stevie and the members of FM in my heart forever.

Ditto! Ditto! She's been, as well as FM, one of my foremost favorites since junior high! I would "escape" to her 'safe place in music' when my own world felt like it was falling apart (which was often when I was an overly sensitive teenager..lol!) I've loved her on and off the stage. She taught me how to accept myself just as I was back then....and especially now, too, at 55. Such a role model...she touches my spirit every time I hear her, still, to this day...

When i saw fleetwood mac in phoenix, stevie told us what this song was about.
She said that when she was young, there was this yuppie clothing store in the haight ashbury district that she used to hang out in, but it the time she was too broke to buy anything.
It had a unique painted floor that she loved, and it was the kind ofcplace that grace slick from jefferson airplaine and janis joplin went to find thier stage clothes.
Stevie told us that when FM first made it big, one of the first things she did was go back to that store and buy herself something.
The gypsy in the song is her younger self, and this is her own personal victory song.

"To a room with some lace and paper flowers" is a description of the single room apartment that she and Lindsay shared. They were so poor, she made flowers and lace out of paper. It passed the time and it decorated their humble dwelling. They were gypsies. I adore the concept.

I was at this show in Pittsburgh where it was taped and it was phenomenal. Stevie is timeless and rock royalty. To still be performing after all she's been through is commendable. Between this and EAGLES: Live At The Forum, I will be in 1970s-to-2020s Heaven. Thank God, for good, new music and albums from veteran artists, in 2020. One of the very few highlights...

she sings the song as it should have always been, so upbeat, full of hope, grace and care...it's wonderful to see it and hear it in the way it was meant to be made. A song of pain, sorrow, strength and with hope.
The original FM founders were good (and RIP to the ones long gone), but when Stevie (and yes Lindsay too of course) joined the band, she raised the bar. Landslide has been my lifelong song followed by Gypsy & Silver Spring.
