After 20000 days listening to music of all the genres in all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world this is still one of the most intriguing intros of all time.
i've seen this gig. and i was deeply impressed. and i worked as tour manager at that time and i've seen a fuckin lot of concerts. but this was a very special one. they are one of the most underrated american bands ever. they should be as big as the chilli peppers or nirvana. they were the best sub pop band ever!
These guys may be the most criminally underrated band of the 90s.

Is there a Japanese or German word that translates to "When a band's music saves your life every single day" because that. This is criminally good.
In Japanese, "bukkake".
How much I love them, just so adorable! ♥♥♥
Love the jumping shot of the crowd!
I didn't remember that they ever played for such a huge audience! I wonder if they were especially popular in Germany?
The bass line to this song...OMG. Whenever I worked with a bassist and he didn't do something of the ilk...I didn't work with them anymore.
JUST AMAZING
I get to see these guys in october for there reunion tour, Im so siked about it.
The Afghan Whigs have that certain je ne sais quois that the most salient/memorable bands have. #superlative
the best song from congregation is Conjure me
I wish they did a real video for this song!
if greg dulli had not worn bad shortsduring the early days, they would never have been lumped in with grunge.....soul band.....
@camdenmaris Two minutes in heaven is better than one minute in heaven

@DetroitSquirreL - They did a proper video, it's on an old Sub Pop video I used to have back in the day. Can't find it online at all though :(
