    What got me to lucid dream for the first time was actually asking myself if I'm dreaming while I'm awake. You can't do it constantly, just randomly, and after a few weeks of asking here and there, I finally asked myself if I was dreaming while dreaming and I became aware and lucid!

    My most memorable lucid dream story:
    I had dreamt a couple times of an ex-friend shortly after his death. Always walking past me in the dream.
    I remember thinking - next time if I see him in my dream I should know that I’m dreaming. Sure enough he showed up in my dream again and I became lucid.
    I knew there was a reason for this dream. He never said a word to me but he was smiling. I remember making peace with him and hugging him. He hasn’t shown up in a dream since.

    Did anyone else have derealization for a long time after lucid dreaming 😭 had to “dream check” myself with my fingers a lot when I got anxious… as in, I felt like I was dreaming when in real life and was anxious about what’s real and what’s not sometimes

    I lucid dreamt once before after using a technique and committing to it for three days lol, but in my dream I used a technique with fingers and then it worked and my one hand went through the other and I was like damn I’m dreaming, (more details than that but whatever) then I started controlling all 4 elements around me because I’ve always wanted to and it was beautiful!

    I’ve had a few instances in which I gained awareness in my dreams, but it always ended up waking me up right after. But tonight, since I’ve been pinching myself and counting my fingers in the waking life as checks lol, I did it in my dream and was able to stay asleep and actually alter the course of my dream!! The awareness didn’t last and it eventually turned into a normal dream, but it was still going on the direction that I had set it on when I was aware!!

    Hi Ivy, ive just discovered your videos and love them! I have a question, you know when your alarm is going off or phione is ringing or the door knocks and in your dream you turn that noise into a part of your dream, does that have something to do with lucid dreaming?

    I lucid dream pretty often. But in most cases when I realize that I'm sleeping I start doing some crazy sh*t instead of something useful XD
    And sometimes I can do whatever I want in my lucid dreams, I can change the reality around myself at will, but sometimes it doesn't happen, no matter how hard I try (don't know why though). And if I try harder, I just wake up =/

I dream about that, my mind will be like "all the other times, it was a dream, BUT THIS TIME IT'S REAL" EVERY. TIME. XDDD So funny. I'd like to try lucid dreaming on purpose though. :F

    I saw the demiurge intertwined in the the world tree and dove toward it, but as I traveled through the space to get to it, MORE space was created as I traveled through it, so I could never get to it. I sensed it feared me and didn't want me messing with it. It wasn't about speed, it was about becoming the space so that anywhere I wanted to be, I was already there. Sun Wukong tried to teach me this when he challenged me to a race through space. In the race he BECAME the desitination AND the way. So he was already at the finish line because he had BECOME the finish line. It's strange traveling through a monkey that has become spacetime.

    I only have 2 lucid dreams. Here's the experience:
    I woke up and did my reality check, and I was STRUGGLING to count before my cousin (I was staying at his house) walked in and said "Yes, __. You are dreaming" and I was so excited, so I walked out and flew above town and that's all I remember for the first one.
    Second dream, (big fan of Back to the Future for context) I was in a car, it was storming, and the car was flying. I was trying to read a bill board sign, and I was having such a hard time, so I looked at my fingers and again, couldn't count, but was surprised when I got past 5. I was too excited, and I woke up.
    I learned that in my dreams, I'm dyscalculious or dyslexic or some shit 😭

    I've actually had a lucid dream and I was aware that it was a dream from the moment I started dreaming. It was interesting bc I could move around and do whatever I wanted but I couldn't figure out how to actually influence the dream in different ways. I could only influence it the same I would be able to influence the waking world. I couldn't give myself powers but periodically I did know something was gonna happen before it happened. This was prolly 12 years ago and I haven't had one since and really want to be able to have lucid dreams when I sleep at night to escape reality for a bit. Thanks for the content! Hopefully this video will help!!

    I actually naturally lucid dream whenever I dream, and I have seen I was a kid. So I love to watch videos on lucid dreaming:).
    Now my dreams are a bit different than how most people describe their own lucid dreaming experience, first of all I don't have to properly realize that I'm dreaming I just kinda know, sometimes it's more of a background thing and sometimes it can be more relevant, second my dreams always have some sort of story to them and I tend to still follow it well changing small things, sometimes I do change bigger things but it normally still flows together somehow, they are still extremely vivid. And finally I don't always dream, now I know technically you always dream if you hit rem sleep, but that is how it seem, because if I remember my dream I well remember them super vividly, but i will go through time periods were I just don't remember any dreams. Oh and I've never had a nightmare before, I just find this interesting because I have experienced intrusive thoughts and I'm quite anxious, but I guess because I can control my dream they don't happen. Idk it's all quite fascinating though.

    Can't agree more with you on the protection and shadow work! I started lucid dreaming before I knew what it was, and it got a bit dicey as I was ill-equipped. I'd slip in and out of it really easily without even trying. The 1st one was at the age of 10. I'm still trying to determine why. It really freaked me out. Luckily, I had someone to help me work through it and educate me on it. 💚 your content so much. I've practiced for a long time, but I still learn so much from you. Thanks for all you do!

      Oof, that's really hard when your first time was a bad experience! It might be good to start visualizing a good/happy/safe lucid dream during the day, imagining yourself becoming lucid in a really safe environment, over and over again during the day. After doing this enough times, eventually you'll have a dream about it!

    WBTB is also called the WILD technique (for Wake Induced Lucid Dreaming), and I have personally done this. I've had mixed results; typically it works better if I had certain foods like dark chocolate beforehand and I stay awake for more than 30 minutes and less than 2 hours. I also tend to get more results if I use a computer screen during that time even, though most people tell you to avoid that. Some people also say that exercising lightly for 15 minutes (usually walking) in the interruption time helps too. Anecdotally, switching your schedule to a 48-hour day with longer sleeping times also works, but I don't think it's reasonable for everyone. I'm still experimenting a bit with having more lucid dreams because in general dreams have been less frequent for me since I was a teenager.
    I've also unintentionally had lucid dreams and during my teenage years especially, some dreams were actually quite traumatic, so some people are more inclined to lucid dreams than others and if that happens it's important to learn how to work within or around that. Doubly so if mental conditions like depression are influencing the dreams too (speaking from experience, unfortunately).

    Dear Ivy, before I even knew what it was called, I started doing it as a method to survive or defend myself from those around me who tried to harm me. I believed that what they couldn't do while I was awake, they would try while I was asleep. So I taught myself to be awake while I was asleep and always be alert as I called it. And yes, it also lead to me visiting other worlds, 'traveling' as I called it and talking to guardians, dead relatives and even certain entities. And also seeing people around me doing certain things or visiting their houses, although I try not to do that anymore, because you could get trapped if they notice you and they have malicious intent towards you. I mean I wouldn't want anyone to just invade my space. Yeah, it is scary sometimes, but for the most part very exciting. So, thank you for what you shared. I might try that. And it really is as simple as going to sleep with a certain intent that makes you lucid dream. 🙏

    I have been trying to lucid dream for decades. I have done it exactly one time. One, don't work at a 24 hour store, because that ruins your sleep cycle, if you are scheduled at all hours of the day or night. Me waking up after 4 hours of sleep means that I will probably be up for 4 hours trying to get back to sleep, even if it's only a few minutes. I can't even just go to the bathroom because I might be up for hours. I'm getting better, but it's been 8 years since I worked at a 24 hour store. And I trained myself to not remember my dreams as a child, because I had the most horrible dreams, all night long. I think it was because some dark entity was trying to attach itself to me, maybe. It hung out in the basement, and you could catch glimpses of shadows that had no source or reason, and you could feel it's malevolent presence, it was not there to be nice or friendly. I would take a cat down there with me, if I was sent down there to do something or retrieve something. And if the cat would not let me take them down there, I would try again later. It was probably just a thing that fed on my fear. My fear was its food. And, two, get yourself away from a fundamentalist religion, because that made me think that demons and devils were hiding behind every rock and every corner, trying to possess me. And my dreams of the future, which came true, because of the church I went to, made me think I was on the wrong path, or there was something wrong with me, or I had demonic influence or something like that. And three, do have a dream journal, and write in it every day, and remind yourself all day that you're going to remember your dreams, and that you are going to lucid dream. But talk to your subconscious in the present tense ("I remember all my dreams", "I lucid dream, I do it every night") because your subconscious just ignores requests not in the present tense, or maybe even doesn't even understand those requests? Excellent video, by the way. Man I wish there was an internet when I was a kid.

    • @IvyTheOccultist
      @IvyTheOccultist  2 роки тому +1

      Yes!!! Thank you so much for sharing your perspective! Mastering your fear around sleeping and dreaming is essential. Your body isn't going to want to dream if there is some deep seeded underlying fear. I completely agree with you - getting away from fundamentalist religion is really helpful! As well as using present tense affirmations. I hope you get to enjoy lots of lucid dreams real soon! 🖤✨

    How does this differ from astro projection?

    • @IvyTheOccultist
      @IvyTheOccultist  2 роки тому +3

      Typically, lucid dreaming is a construct from your own mind. Whereas astral projection is not. When you are astrally projecting, you are going to a space outside your own mind and you have much less control. One way to tell if you're astrally projecting or if you're lucid dreaming is to try conjuring something up in front of you. With lucid dreaming, you can do this easily. With astral projection, you do not have as much control of the external environment. Another way to tell the difference is by paying attention to the landscape. With astral projection, you are going to a specific place that cannot be changed. No matter how many times you go there, the landscape will be the same. But with lucid dreaming, the landscapes can change all the time because you are essentially making it all up in your head. I hope that makes sense! ☺️🖤

    When I end up astral projecting (not willingly, it's at random) I was taught to "think of my feet" so I can return to my body instantly - because feet = gravity/ground.
    I often get pulled out of the plane I traverse just when things get really interesting, I don't get to leave by choice I think because "they" know if I could choose to stay I probably would never want to leave which is dangerous...
    I want to be able to replace my dreams with projections so I can feel refreshed every morning. So far I'm limited to just an hour in a half maybe even two.
    I was taught long ago not to fear but embrace what's on the other side, not because these planes are frightening or malign - but because they demand the capacity to accept profound truth.
    Loved this video by the way...this was very helpful, I didn't think of most of the methods & ideas you mentioned! Knowledge truly is power! 🤘🍎🐍

    • @IvyTheOccultist
      @IvyTheOccultist  2 роки тому +2

      The "think of your feet" bit is really helpful! I agree, it's good to find something grounding to latch onto for safety. But I also agree that in order to be successful with astral travel, we need to embrace the unknown. Going into astral travel feeling fearful is a horrible way to experience it; and a person is almost guaranteed to have a bad trip if they start out scared of the unknown. I think it's really interesting that you can easily slip into these astral planes! I still struggle with my fear of letting go and falling into the unknown. Sounds like you might have had some incredible experiences! I'd love to make a video on astral projection (specifically) one day... But that is far into the future. The Akashic records are a really interesting concept as well. Thank you for your words of wisdom! 🙏

      @@IvyTheOccultist Yeah although I don't get to choose when I can enter or leave, wish I could.
      There's a theory of numerous different "realms" beyond the physical, I would think of them as radiowaves separated by a different frequency.
      Quantum: It's a buffer-zone between the physical & spiritual, much like a "grey static channel between other broadcasts" it's for those who won't/can't move on...because they were either murdered, died unhappy, had tons of anger/sadness stored away, resentment, or those unaware they passed - that would bother the soul...It's become a very troubling place filled with pain - not because it's a place of punishment, but because they carried this pain they had while alive as they passed, they weren't able to let go before death... escaping this place can be challenging. This is when the universe is most unfair/cruel to us.
      Astral: The realm of visual imagination/dreams/fantasies it's the home of all strange/mystical beings/entities this is where we create a reality for ourselves or discover others, there are many planes within the astral higher/lower each separated by a barrier of their own. This is when the universe feels so rewarding.
      Ethereal: A formless, shapeless realm of pure consciusness, colorful, vibrant - very energetic, without doubt the home of celestials and higher beings. This is when we transcend above & beyond everything and reach the highest form of existence.
      Void/Abyss: This plane exists far beyond the boundaries of the others - it exists within us & beyond us, it's a pitch black realm of nothing but whispers & voices, it's a plane where the human consiusness/soul often slumbers in order to regain strength & move on because physical existence took a huge toll. Most often the memories of one gets erased right as they encounter the bright light and "wake up" in a new vessel...oftentimes bits of memory stays behind. This is the most the likely place most end up right after their physical death/or after ending up in the quantum - due to not knowing what's beyond, or having a false idea they'll face eternal glory/damnation. They get yanked out of their body, get their memory wiped, then shoved into a new body quicker than they can say: what the f*¢k?!
      I believe data regarding spiritual planes is vital because it's our key to achieving what we desire when we move on.

      @@Shadowman9348 Oh my gods... I had an entire comment typed out in response to what you wrote and I just accidentally deleted it!!! UGH. Okay... What I was trying to say is that I love everything you shared here. I have never thought about additional planes of existence in this way! I wonder if the akashic records (or collective unconscious) would be considered ethereal? Who knows... I also wonder about the 4th dimension and where that ties into all this. Some people believe that spirits (such as the fae, dragons, brownies/house spirits, etc.) live in the 4th dimension which overlaps our 3D existence. They can see us, but we can't see them. It's similar to how we can see 2D images, but that 2D image can't see us. Of course... our tiny human brains aren't meant to know the answer yet. Fascinating stuff for sure!
