I'm a motovlogger from Phoenix, Arizona! I've been riding motorcycles since 2015. My first motorcycle I learned how to ride on was a Suzuki GS500F. After taking a motorcycle safety course and finally gaining some confidence on the streets, I decided to purchase my second motorcycle. A Honda CBR600RR. I still own that motorcycle to this day! After some time passed I decided to add another motorcycle to the family. So I purchased a Yamaha FZ-07. That's another bike I still have to this day! Again, more time passed and guess what I did. I purchased my final bike, as of now. A Honda Grom!

She should be appreciative he rides a bike since it uses a lot less resources like fuel and tires takes up less space at a red light and in some states let's people Lane split and reduces traffic and Utah you can Lane filter to reduce traffic. I have a problem with people who sit there revving into the higher RPMs late at night or early in the morning but you can't fault someone just for starting it and letting it idle at low RPM.

Warming up your motorcycle car before driving is a leftover practice from a time when carbureted engines dominated the roads.
Of course he is being calm and polite, he is making a smarmy UA-cam video. That nice lady he is winding up should have put up a cctv camera up and film him to show UA-cam what he is really like when he doesn't know he is being recorded.
Just be respectful and keep the noise to a bare minimum in residential areas and enjoy your bike instead of filming yourself being over polite to random people in the street.

My neighbour has Harley’s and Indians. His driveway is right next to our bedroom window. He knows I work late, so I sleep late. He will walk his bike to the end of his drive before starting it. We have never asked him to do this. Never complained. He has woke me up on occasion. But I realise, that he has a life too. My sleep does not trump his rite to ride.
if the old lady wakes up she should politely offer him a nice breakfast and ask him to roll it a little bit away from house
I had a neighbour with a loud sports bike who would leave for work at 6AM. He would start it and ride it out of the alley in a few seconds and I had no problems with that. He didn't let it warm up for even 10 seconds. You don't have to warm it up if you don't rev it up right then.
I have an Electraglide and warm it up in my garage for a while in cooler weather, you won't ever hear me complaining about the noise.

Hello, I'm from Chicago, this winter was -50 degrees and my car took over 20+ minutes to warm up were I was comfortable driving my car. Shifting gears was like moving a shovel in drying cement, this person has no idea what it's like in Chicago or the midwest. OLD VIDEO I know :)

That actually made sense to me. If you wake up and the noise(construction work etc) continues for multiple minutes you become wide awake and cant fall back to sleep but if it's just a loud noise that wakes you up and is then silent. Fall back to sleep like a baby.

I like that you and she were respectful in your discussion. Bottom line, you have a modified exhaust that is louder than stock. And if you sat there idling for 5 minutes, I'd get annoyed, and I'm a biker who owns V-Twins and six cylinder bikes. I'm incredibly respectful of my neighbors. I only start the bike when I'm ready to go. Your bike is likely fuel injected and doesn't even need to be warmed up. My neighbor has a truck with modded exhaust and wakes me up at 7:00 a.m. daily. "But, it's street legal". I don't say anything, but the whole neighborhood is annoyed with him. Your neighbors' silence is not the same as approval. She says others complain about you to her, you can bet they do. You say there's nothing you can do about it, but there IS - you can put the stock exhaust back on. But you choose not to.
It's louder than stock but the stock exhaust isn't exactly quiet either. At the end of the day, it's a high compression race engine making over 200hp per liter. It needs some sort of a free flowing exhaust, especially because it revs to over 15,000 RPM. The same exhaust that would make it quiet at the 1200 RPM idle would choke it to death at 8000-15,000 RPM. Warming up a gasoline engine is a matter of choice. A fuel injected bike will still do everything a carburetor does. The air is still dense, so both the carb and ECU will richen the mixture for the colder air. You'd still be running that rich a/f ratio if you took off without warming up, which can damage internals. There is a reason engines use thermostats, running an engine below the temperature it was designed to run at is not good.
His bike seems to have come with the aftermarket exhaust and the sale likely did not include the factory exhaust. So no, he probably can not put the stock exhaust back on.

My bike is street legal, doesn't mean it's street legal is true. My exhaust is a race can. I've put an aftermarket baffle in it to quieten it down. Still louder than this guy's. Helps that the guy that tests my bike each year rides a Harley. My neighbour used to have a bike so is sympathetic.

Here in Detroit suburbs, I have to warm my car up for at least 15 minutes before doing anything. And my bike for around 10 before heading out, spring thru late fall. If my bike isn't up to temp. and I get on to ride, it's like riding a bull. She simply just wants to complain and argue about something. And why is she questioning your lifestyle choices & the times you do things? Unless she's paying your bills... You're way nicer than I would have been.

5 minutes is not an absurd amount of time to warm your engine up, when your bike sets overnight or any period of time all of your oil settles down to your bottom end and warming up your engine not only warm sure oil up where it travels better it will reduce engine wear

Well, I hate to add my two cents, but being from Minneapolis, when it hits negative numbers in the winter it has taken my car over 20 minutes to warm the engine up cruising at highway speeds. It won't even warm up idling.

So far I've only had one neighbor who had said anything about noise whether its music or bikes, but he also has little kids who go to bed at an early time and I get that. Least he was respectful and just asked to stay as quiet as possible. He understands bikes arent the quietest thing in the world

@@KRAFTPUNK Technically it goes both ways, immediately driving your vehicle cold is not good for the engine and letting your engine idle for long is also not recommended. I let my diesel idle for at least 10-15 minutes before i drive it so that it is defrosted and I don't have to drive in a cold rig!

No Recording Software its been 10 below here last week and w/o exhaust after the cat, i wouldnt start it. Today was 34 out, started it to circulate the gas. Took 10min to reach temp. She would despise my vfr...its loud.

There is absolutely zero reason to warm your motorcycle up first year in Arizona... Second you don't have a carburetor you have fuel injection started up let oil pressure build and you can go... Warming it up is a myth unless your bikes running over like crap in which case get a tube up... First time I've ever been on a Karen's side

Ya the last time I had a Neighbor complain about me warming my bike up instead of me turning my choke down to make it quieter while it warmed up I left it on full choke for about 3 minutes never had a complaint about it being to loud after that.😁

Motorcycles are hella loud and awful to hear in a neighborhood. My neighbor warms up his bike for 10 fucking minutes in the morning when people are asleep. It always wakes me up. So inconsiderate.

You don't warm an engine up for 2 minutes either - 15 to 30 seconds at most, followed by a few minutes of gentle riding.
If you just start it and let it idle then it's a longer time at high wear; you're better letting the oil move around for a few seconds then get it up to operating temperature faster by riding it easy.

I live on a busy ass street, right next to the fire station, there’s constantly loud noises, I’ve just blocked them out at this point and they don’t wake me up at night. She just wants to be mad about something. And our neighbors kid who lives below us is always banging on walls and running around playing loud ass music at 3am and we don’t say anything lol.
