Whooop!!! Congratulations! But it’s nothing to do with me 🥰 you completed the exam and passed!! Well done 🙌🏻🫶🏻🎉 x
I m glad to found ur channel. As u told you were terrified about maths I was too but now I see ur video it's just simple equation maths as we did in school time. :) Thank u!
You’re like me, Claire; I hated Maths and I got an E in GCSE too. However, I love GCSE Bitesize; it’s so useful for anything. Another great video; I know that a lot of students will appreciate you for that, Claire. 🦋✨
Sez Francis Thank you Sez! I hope I make sense haha. I found bite size really helpful too ☺️ Maths is a tricky one, I think a lot of people struggle with maths 🙈 I just hope this helps someone out there 🌻
⁰
Claire you are so adorable, but please I would love if you could do these calculations on a white board demonstrating as I have ADHD, so I am unable to solve the maths with only verbal instructions. Thank you so much for your initiative.
Hi Claire, just come across you video. I have just started nursing in uni. I am really worried about the maths exam! thank you for your help. I have now subscribed. Please keep the videos coming for me. Thank you again x
I'm an nurse, I qualified back in 2011.... That's not really hard! Trust me .....you will be fine!
It's very easy!!
OMG so helpful, I'm rubbish when it comes to Maths, thanks for this x
Mutsa Irish Thank you so much! I hope it helped a little bit 🙈 x
Claire Carmichael it did a lot, I looked at the links you put down so good
Oh my God, thanks so very much, really appreciate it, this has really helped. Bless
You're welcome :) glad its helped some what. Good luck! X
Yah I got my 2:2 inn2021!!
Hi Claire, you are amazing to bless you, I have download the BNF app but I am not sure how to learn. I have been out of education a very long time. I forget how to learn.
I really need help with IV calculations I’ve tried and tried and I cannot do them and my exam is next month I know it’s going to make me feel and be the end of my career before it’s even started 😢
Makes perfect sense, thank you!
Yah will be nice to know about your experience with assignments and any books that you can recommend
I also got a E currently on my first year of nursing! trying to get some maths practice but broken down
I'm glad I found u here your tips are very useful.. I'm rubbish with maths so God help me.. 😁
Claire you’re amazing...
I heard all about your panic😉
EASYYYYYYY
For paramedic science we had to do maths and English exam and believe it or not guys it’s the same. I wouldn’t panic about them to much!
I LOVE that method - I’m 100% going to use that x
You had to say 69kg didn’t you🤦♂️😂
Yes it makes sense Claire don’t worry😂😂
We had these questions on my interview😂😂
2OrdinaryGuys 2OrdinaryGuys I’m so glad that panic is over.
The maths isn’t too bad to be fair! I thought this was easy soooo 🤷🏻♀️ I’m hoping third year it’s just as easy haha!
Hey. What’s wrong with 69kg?! 🤣🤦🏻♀️
You had those type of questions for your interview?! Really?
I can’t even remember my paramedic interview ones. That’s so bad of me.
Our interview maths were just basic maths for the nursing. Was great! Haha.
Dear Claire. Love your explanations. Have a medication exam but no calculators allowed. can you help xxx
Hi Clare. How do I work out my IV calculating?
Fantastic Video
Thank you for the video. What happened if you failed the exam, was you not allowed to progress further with the course? x
Charlene Bennett we got 3 attempts and then if you fail all 3 you get kicked off the course 😅 x
✅
I have dyscalculia and I am DREADING the thoughts of math!! pray for me haha!
Nurse Corinne Haha you’re going to be fine :D you got this one!! 🙌🏻
Me too.
Dear Claire
Would you be so kind to do the IV rate formula again please
This might help: diaryofanurse.co.uk/2018/08/16/maths-exams-drug-calculations-at-university-nursing-school-u-k/amp/
☺️☺️ xx
4:30 I got it right yay! 😂😂 But I love doing percentage questions at school so not surprising 😅
Johnathon Appleby Whoooop!! Amazing!! Well done 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💙
Hi lovely, do you know if there’s any drugs questions on a trainee nurse associate tests? Thank you in advance your videos are amazing!
Oooh that’s a good question! I think so! Because they give medications, so I imagine they would have to add this 🤔 xx
This is what universities go by too: www.nmc.org.uk/globalassets/sitedocuments/education-standards/nursing-associates-programme-standards.pdf
So if there’s anything in there about medications they have to provide training etc on it :) x
Hi, Clare. You said you did the access course in 2012. But you started your degree in 2017. Did university accept that access qualification or you had to redo another access course? Thanks.
Morning :)
The uni accepted my access course from 2012 luckily 💙
Thank you for your response. I’m starting my access to nursing this September. But i might not go straight to university after finishing the course due to financial reason. So i’m happy to hear that university accept qualification achieved for few years.😊
@@daisynguyen9068 you should tey to do the NVQ route. 👍 Less debt , you only do 2 years and you go to uni 2 days a week and work in the health care area
Sutty, what’s that route like? What entry requirement do they need? Thanks.
Thanks for this 🤗🤗
Hey Claire I’m applying for nursing this year but I am nervous for the English and math exam I have to take can you make a video on some questions they may have or give me some tips I’m fine with maths but struggle with English usually
iqrah jabeen I cant 100% remember the exact questions for our entry requirement haha! It was so long ago. But all I revised was the GCSE bitesize practice ones online :) and I passed. It depends on the uni as well, different unis have different tests 😭
But for our uni, it was level 2 maths and English. It was really basic stuff nothing complicated :) xx
What uni do u go to and did they allow u to use calculators in your exam
Anyone needs equation to solve Medication Calculate
Failed my safe medicate because I didn’t dispense 1 tablet even though the calculation was correct. I’m due to retake and I’m scared I will make a stupid mistake and get excluded
Aw sorry to hear that!! Surely if the calculations are correct that’s a pass? I’m not sure what they do with safe medicate now. It sounds frustrating tho :( and realistically at work you’d have your colleagues etc around you to help / calculator etc to use as well.
If by any chance you fail next time - appeal it 💙 get another chance etc. don’t give up! X
@@ClaireCarmichael Sadly, my university did not consider that. They said it has to be a retake because I failed. It’s a bit discouraging because I have worked extremely hard and got high marks in all my modules with only 1 failure in safe medicate.
Fingers crossed my retake goes well.
Just watching this video again, just wanted to ask, when you are on placement are you asked to do drug calculation as well?
Mutsa Irish Yeah we get some level of assessment. Depends where you work I think. In our competency books we have to get it signed off that we know how to calculate drugs :-) but it’s easy! Don’t worry about it. Mentors are usually great at helping you. X
Claire Carmichael ok thank you so much
Mutsa Irish but it’s not as detailed as the drug calculations exam haha. It’s basic knowledge stuff. Like ‘ok you need 500g of paracetamol, your tablets are 250g, how many tablets do you give?’ 2... 🤷🏻♀️ simple stuff. Well that’s what I’ve had so far haha. X
Claire Carmichael, that's reasonable I will be able to cope, just started yesterday so far so good at the moment it's student welcoming etc, I haven't got the chance to ask any questions yet properly, I was going through your videos yesterday for help and just to equip myself with extra knowledge
Mutsa Irish you’ll be fine! Honestly. First year is all about adjusting to life and finding your feet :-) nothing expected of you as such! Some nurses don’t realise you’re first year so just remind them this and don’t be afraid to say no if you aren’t confident doing something. It’s better to be safe than sorry ☺️ x
Are u allowed to use a calculator for your exams when u were doing your nursing degree at uni ?
It depends on the university. But we had a calculator luckily :)
@@ClaireCarmichael I gosh so I need to find a university who allows it because I tried doing the doage calculations without a calcalater and it is to hard
Are calculators allowed in the math exams ? ( nursing uni interview exam / the maths module in the degree )
It depends on the university but yes they do at some universities :) we had a calculator for ours at BCU
Thank you ms. 🐝🦋🦄
Are we allowed to use calculatar
Am preparing for OSCE can we use valculator
It depends on the uni / company. We could use a calculator for our drug calculations :) But some places don't let you.
Was you allowed a calculator?
Didn’t get any of those answers 😢😢😢😂😂
Hiya, u know when u did 12÷67, would you have to do that on Ur head, or with a calculator, when in exams and on placement :)
Ceri S It depends on the university, so some will expect you to show your working out on paper and luckily at BCU we get a calculator for second and third year maths exams! 🙈
Out on placement mentors have given me a calculator to work it out but there are times when you can easily work it out in your head 🤗 x
So helpful! I just subscribed and would love to support eachother
Im panicking..
Don’t panic! You’ll be fine :)
