Moin moin Gemeinde, ich muß nochmal nerven. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit mit Open XR, Apps wie zb Kapps oder Racelab in der Brille anzuzeigen wie es in Open VR möglich ist? Habe bisher nichts gefunden. Danke im Voraus
I would highly recommended this pure out of safety reasons. My G2 went glitching during a race which led my view to being off center. tried to compensate with leaning a little to the right while driving (Iracing during race)> Someone rammed me and I made some weird overcompensating move but because I was in VR I didn't notice that I was in an awkward position. End result = severe back strains for 3 days.
Not sure, I assume this is some individual thing of each headset. I was initially also wondering why this resolution isn't exactly square (e.g. 3000x3000). Don't take it too serious, I always just went for the first number.
@@wanderschikanentv I did turn on the expert version and I am on 1.2.3 I redownloaded it to make sure I was on the same version as you are and I just don't have all those options
Your settings in the past have been awesome but I've never had any luck without running reprojection. I've tried multiple restarts etc, cannot figure it out...
Hi Robert, what OS and CPU are you on? it is suspicious that you need to use reprojection already in the other games. On top, iRacing seems to be the least demanding simulator amongst ACC, AC, AMS and iR. Do you have "Open XR Tools for Windows Mixed Reality" installed? If so, maybe there is an update. What version do you have? Also, check whether there is e.g. a custom resolution set in this tool. If so, remove it. Also, on older Windows 10 versions, there was the infamous HolographicShell slowing down things a lot. Any (optional) Windows updates available for your PC?
Hey I'm Also have a 4080 with a 12900k and 32gb ram and I'm getting around the same, I upgraded from the 3080 and it ran better on the 3080. Maybe there's a driver problem ? I haven't had any luck finding anything. Let me know if you get yours fixed.
@@sp33dr4ge881 yea, I've tried ddu and checked some bios power settings. I'm going to reinstall windows today and hopefully that can solve it because nothing else Ive done has worked
Something is very wrong Robert. 2080S and I9 9900 here, I run Iracing at 100% ss and get a stable 90fps at the Nordschleife with 40AI. The only game I use reprojection for is FS2020, for racing sims you really don't want to use that - and you should not have to with a 4090. I almost use the same settings as in this video. Maybe also ask around on the Iracing forum in the VR section, probable someone there can help you out if you can't figure out what is causing this.
I would turn on shadow maps and turn down something else if you need it. Without shadows game looks so cheap. Not the dynamic shadows though, those don't make a big difference.
Hi Glenn! No, it is also plus +15. First, it relates to vertical offset, not horizontal, and second, we only shift the sharp area a bit upwards to the windscreen. Hope this helps!
Hi very nice video, have set my VR values to this, would be nice if you included your Nvidia graphic card settings and the WMR settings for the reverb too and that would be spot on,cheers
Hi Nick, NVIDIA settings are in the written description, WMR is all Default. But it's a valid comment from you, the video would be more valuable if I add this directly to the video. Thanks for the feedback!
Have a simillar setup to yours, with an RTX3080, 32GB Ram, and 10700k. With your settings the clarity is amazing, however I'm getting some pretty bad performance in this week's IMSA races. The performance suffers the most around other cars. Not sure if this is related to Sebring being poorly optimized in iR, or the fact that it's a night/early morning race. Would you mind testing that and giving some feedback?
No experience with the 10700k but I noticed a nice performance increase switching from a 9900k setup to a 13600k setup. The 12 and 13th gen intels are quite a bit better gaming performance wise. I believe iRacing is pretty cpu dependant as well
Hi, not all options are available on e.g. all graphic cards or headsets. Check here. mbucchia.github.io/OpenXR-Toolkit/index#supported-graphics-cards - what system are you on? Anyhow, follow the guide as much as possible, basic principle should work anyhow.
@@viktork.2076 So it seems that you would need an DirectX12 application to get Fixed Foveated Rendering. As far as I can google it, iRacing is only DirectX11. However, I can't check as I suspended my iRacing account.
Just give it a try without FFR. If you need to gain some fps, try lowering the AA/Samples Mode ingame, or Custom Resolution in OpenXR Toolkit. Otherwise, with respect to fps, iRacing is quite forgiving :-)
In my understanding, you need to differentiate Upscaling (NIS or FSR) from Sharpening (CAS). NIS and FSR are used to relief the GPU, and I also think that combination of NIS/FSR with custom resolution is one-step back - one-step forward. In the combination of custom resolution with CAS, I turn up the resolution for a smooth baseline picture and use CAS to give it the final touch of crispiness. The addition of CAS into OpenXR Toolkit has been the best option for sharpness, IMO.

@@wanderschikanentv hey thanks, i remember these items previously and sort of blanked on it. I did some testing last night and was back to being locked at 90fps and quality was improved. I did notice that using Ultra textures caused some issues where some textures were blurred out, bumping that down to high made a massive difference, so I wonder if there is some optimization that isn't happening or something else is impacting that. thanks again!
Hi Jay, try to isolate whether it crashes already by iRacing in OpenXR alone, or by iRacing in OpenXR in conjunction with OpenXR Toolkit. For that purpose, you can disable the Toolkit in its Companion App. If the latter is the issue, please check on the OpenXR Toolkit Discord. As I don't own an Oculus product, I don't have experience with it.
Some users reported very low fps like you, but I can't tell why that happens. Maybe give it a try again after a driver update or when there is an OpenXR Toolkit update. CAS is a very good option for clarity, so it's a pity that it doesn't work on your system.

Can't get Foveated Rendering to show up in the Toolkit menu - using OpenXR, the API is installed and the G2 should support "fixed" mode... no idea what I'm missing.

The only thing I would change is setting HDR to off. It barely does anything in Iracing and it costs quite some fps. In my case the fps went from 90 to around 84 when I turned HDR on.
Indeed, it is only for the sun glare, no such dramatic graphic effects as in other games.
@@wanderschikanentv that and the braking light have a nice glow, but not worth the fps cost I think :)
In my case there barely was a difference. Maybe 1 fps or so. I have a rtx3080

small hint - you can reset in car position with a button, set it in iracing controls.
Same here, I map such button in all simulations.
Do you do one for Msfs? This has absolutely changed my iracing, it looks massively better and runs so much smoother Thankyou
Why would my reverb G2 have a override resolution of 3000x2935. Yours is 3000x2923 is my resolution off?
Not sure, I assume this is some individual thing of each headset. I was initially also wondering why this resolution isn't exactly square (e.g. 3000x3000). Don't take it too serious, I always just went for the first number.
Hi there, for some reason when I click on my profile there is no setting tab in the Iracing UI. Any ideas?
Its on the left bottom corner now
Thank you very much for this vidéo, it's always so effecient and brilliant! 👍
Enjoy the race!
Would these settings work on Oculus Rift S
I can't find all these options you list in OpenXR. Am I missing something? My menus are shorter then yours.
Did you activate the expert settings? Also, what version are you in? I'm on 1.2.3
@@wanderschikanentv I did turn on the expert version and I am on 1.2.3 I redownloaded it to make sure I was on the same version as you are and I just don't have all those options

Your settings in the past have been awesome but I've never had any luck without running reprojection. I just tried your settings in iracing with a 4080 and reverb g2 and I'm getting 50fps..
any ideas what it could be? Now when I de-select turbo and put reprojection on the fps is down at 35...
Strange b/c I am getting 90 fps easy with his settings on my RTX 3080 My CPU is a AMD 5900x and mother board AUS rog STRIX 570 if that means anything
For a right hand drive car would the vertical offset be -15?
Hey, sorry, I only own some limited content in iRacing, so, I cannot help here.

@@Ibo4433 give it a try, openxr alone is already a good improvement over SteamVR
whats the point of supersampling if you are upscaling? Wouldn't you just be bringing yourself back to baseline?
You mean the combination of custom resolution and CAS?
@@wanderschikanentv Yes.
@@wanderschikanentv Ah, that makes sense then. Didn't realise CAS was stricly a sharpening tool.. Definitley gonna play around with that. Thanks!

@@wanderschikanentv hey thanks, i remember these items previously and sort of blanked on it. I never had any performance issues prior to using XR Toolkit, but seems once I started using that these other variables came more into play.
I did some testing last night and was back to being locked at 90fps and quality was improved. I did notice that using Ultra textures caused some issues where some textures were blurred out, bumping that down to high made a massive difference, so I wonder if there is some optimization that isn't happening or something else is impacting that. thanks again!

my quest 2 crash when I set this settings I'm using 3070
Hi Jay, try to isolate whether it crashes already by iRacing in OpenXR alone, or by iRacing in OpenXR in conjunction with OpenXR Toolkit. For that purpose, you can disable the Toolkit in its Companion App. If the latter is the issue, please check on the OpenXR Toolkit Discord. As I don't own an Oculus product, I don't have experience with it.
Frame rate limit does nothing in vr (iracing), set it to 70 and you will still get 90Fps..
THX for the heads-up, I didn't check values lower than 91 tbh.

Some users reported very low fps like you, but I can't tell why that happens. Maybe give it a try again after a driver update or when there is an OpenXR Toolkit update. CAS is a very good option for clarity, so it's a pity that it doesn't work on your system.
