Great Video clip! Excuse me for the intrusion, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you tried - Proutklarton Surviving Technics Plan (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for learning how to survive any crisis without the normal expense. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my friend at very last got astronomical success with it.

Definitely intimidating coming from someone who just buys tags at Walmart in NY and PA but this helps thank you!

I just talk to a guy last night that, after 39 years of applying, finally got his ram tag in Nevada.....39 flipping years lol. And yes, he did take a nice ram.

Happy for him. I have 27 years of sheep applications in Montana and still waiting for my chance. Maybe I have to wait 12 more years.

Hey I'm trying to figure how to properly sign up on a group hunt for Colorado elk hunt for my pawpaw Frankie and I; how do I do that by paying my spot 1st then put my pawpaw Frankie under my number.
If so does he have to pay under the same deal too? And since he was born in 1954 does he have to have a safety course before applying or could he just be added?

I'm going to hunt for elk this general season. I have a question about tagging. I am planning on quartering the elk. Do I put the tag on the leg and take it with me with sex attached or does the tag stay with the carcass and I just leave it there with the animal after I quarter all that meat.

Hi Randy, I really enjoy your videos. I have a question regarding the similarity of Howa and Weatherby Vanguard barrels. My understanding is that they are built in the same factory. Can you comment on the relative accuracy? Thanks

Randy you should really do an Oregon archery hunt, most units are OTC tags and have very good public land opportunities for good bulls. A few units are any elk. I was born and raised in Eastern Oregon and can give you many places to check out. Just one way you will be guaranteed one of the many tags you need. Almost forgot, deer run at the same time and it’s a month long season. And if you don’t fill your tag in September you can late season in Western Oregon for Blacktail and Cow Elk.

My son just moved to Oregon, so it is quickly moving up my list of places to hunt.

    Hi Randy,
Love your show. Randy, I watched one video but can't find it anymore. It was you hunting alone (with a camera man) in central Wyoming for antelope. You camped out of your truck and it looked do-able for my brother and I. We both have knee problems so can't climb big mountains anymore but would like to do a speed goat hunt together. I would love to show it to my brother. Could you please give me the link? Thanks, keep up the great work you do.
    Greg from Maine.

Not sure what one you are referring to, but here is a playlist of all our antelope hunts. It is in there somewhere - ua-cam.com/play/PLLdxutimd-JvVnHxn1GoeJry96xYOX55n.html
      Good luck.

Are you telling me I can't buy a sheep tag at my grocery store like I can my whitetail permit? SHIT!
I am just starting to learn about western hunting. I thing I want to do my first mule deer hunt with a rifle on a general tag in Wyoming, montana or utah. Any opinions?

    • @Fresh_Tracks
      @Fresh_Tracks  9 років тому

xxbryan715xx Wyoming. They have left over tags for areas in northeast Wyoming, right now. Good areas in western WY, but they require some luck in the draw. Nope, only guaranteed sheep tags are in a few units in Montana, called "unlimited units," as there is no limit on the tags issued.

Unfortunately I won't be doing a western hunt this year. I used my vacation to take of several weeks of the michigan archery season in November. I also need a few major pieces of equipment such as a 4 season tent, spotting scope, backpack and a magnum caliber rifle. I have never hunted past the Mississippi so all of my gear is oriented towards stand hunting for whitetails.

I should also say that I was kidding about the sheep tags. I know that those take many points before you draw.

Randy So I had no points and put in for the general elk hunt in Wyoming. I drew the tag. Now I need some help on where to go :)

Wow, that is a great bit of luck. I would look at our many elk hunting videos on how to find elk. They are in our Elk Talk playlist. I would also go to the WY G&F hunt planner on their website. It will give you some good starting points. Good luck.

So cool you replied. I love your shows you make your videos seem very engaging and I watch them all the time. I have been hunting elk for 20 plus years it is beyond what I am obsessed with. I used to live in Green River Wyoming as a kid so I am excited to hunt in Wyoming again. I live in Utah now. I am a bit nervous about the wolves and Grizzlies. Should I be or is that something that is blown out of proportion a bit in the media? You have any areas you have hunted in Wyoming in the gernaral areas you would recommend I scout out where you have had some success?
