In some Neon art pieces I found traces of a black residue. I was told by a Neon that is Mercury. Would you you agree?

Hi! Thank you for the question - the Getty Conservation Institute tells me that if you're seeing black droplets or buildup on the inside of the tube, then, yes, it is likely mercury.
