      I agree with you 100 percent. And Isha is planting millions of trees in southern india. There are permaculuture projects in places like Jaipur. Those kinds of projects impact the water tables. Delhi itself has an amazing park in the middle of the city. Trees are considered sacred there. often you will see buildings that are built around trees.

    50 degrees celcius. Nomatter how well Indian people are adapted a hot environment, and their architecture takes heatspikes into account, 50 degrees celcius is simply insufferable. And people do die as a consequence as we have seen several instances of already this early in the season.
    Then think about the animals and plants, especially in the wild.Temparatures like that begs an environmental catastrophe when populations over a broad spectrum starts withering away under the strain. And still global CO2 emissions are on rising trend. It has long since passed pre-covid levels and while it's not exactly rising more steeply, it also doesn't show any tendency towards slowing down.
    What is wrong with us, people? What is it that we don't get about this picture?

    • @annerigby4400
      @annerigby4400 6 місяців тому +6

      The problem is simple: money. As long as money rules the world, nothing else will really matter. Why do companies still use fossil fuel, why do countries still use fossil fuel? why is industrial animal farming allowed? it is all down to money and the people who make the most money have the most power and so they influence governments in their favour by donating to political parties that will not make laws that interfere with these companies. The only thing we simple humans can do is only vote for politicians who promise to make the necessary changes.... if we can find such politicians.
      Look at the reaction to veganism. There have been newspaper articles claiming that plant-based food is unhealthy, even dangerous and publicity claiming eating meat, fish and eggs is essential for health. Why? Money (the meat and dairy industries are big money-makers) and because although so many western countries are seeing a rise in cardiovascular disease, obesity and diabetes, people will believe the hype and not choose a diet that would not only help them but also the environment.
      Then there is fast fashion. It uses resources that impact the environment and ends up in landfills. So, people vote for environmentally savvy politicians, stop consuming animal products and don't buy clothes that come from outside your own frontiers. You'll be better informed, healthier and richer, and you'll have a lot more closet space.

    • @user-mg2qz6ep2o
      @user-mg2qz6ep2o 6 місяців тому +3

      While I agree with fast fashion and such. I don't think veganism is that great especially looking at it through a critical lense.
      Most studies on it are short-term, they will typically get people who eat a standard American diet that's full of ultra processed food, are pretty sedentary. Put them on a WFPB diet and track them for 10 weeks. Longer term studies tend to just be epidemiological questionnaires. There is no proper long term research and no populations to go off.
      The only ones you really have go off are the long term ones on UA-cam etc.. and they start to look washed out eventually I've noticed.
      I did it for 6 years, did everything by doctors and dieticians. Progressively added in more combinations of plants and still declined towards the end. 😞 Felt so much after eating some salmon. Skin looks more hydrated and less papery etc.
      Not everyone can do that diet either. Way less bioavailability, lack of satiation, you might be physically full but still not satiated.
      Just be mindful of what you say. 'everyone should do this it's the best way' yet no human population has eaten like that unless they were starving.
      I think holding UPF companies more accountable rather than hyper focusing on animal agriculture.

      Simple reason, willfully ignorant people deny the existence of climate change because they don’t want to have to change their behavior. Also, the oil and natural gas industries don’t want to lose money so they lobby against change

    • @Debbie-henri
      @Debbie-henri 6 місяців тому +5

      And now scientists have confirmed that trees in these heatwave areas like India are no longer functioning efficiently regarding absorbing CO2 and releasing oxygen. Scientists have called it 'coughing,' where trees only absorb CO2 during cooler hours, and coughing it back into the atmosphere when it gets too hot.
      So there is strong evidence that this is now be a contributing factor to global CO2 rises.
      To address this, it will mean that those areas that remain cooler (Scotland, Iceland, Northern Scandinavia, Rusia and China) - need to step up their tree planting efforts, as this seems to be the only widespread carbon sequestration technique out there. (We have seen plenty of other innovative ideas illustrated on platforms like UA-cam, but they are certainly not out there in sufficient numbers to make a difference).
      Even better would be if people would just slow down their consuming.
      But no government has dared put a brake on anything like that.
      Tourism seems to be at an all time high. Popular tourist spots are inundated with crowds to the point that locals are protesting at the weight of tourism.
      Just think of the number of planes and cruise ships exhausting CO2 around the globe, as people persist in travelling - without a thought for climate change. Where are their ethics?
      Internet platforms don't even try to control the number of tourism ads as a discouragement. Money rather than consideration.
      Similarly, we're inundated with car ads. Over the years, I have seen a trend from keeping a car in good condition to stay on the road as long as possible - to a car model that is a 'throw-away' item after 3 years. Car owners don't challenge this, they 'accept' it, expect it, falling in with a trend deliberately generated by car manufacturers to make more money.
      And it's the same with all things now.
      I purposely visit charity shops to find vintage kitchen equipment, because it has given its previous owner 30, 40 or more years good service to the end of their lives - and it's still in good condition.
      Now, buy a food processor and you're lucky if it lasts a month. Buy plates, and the glaze begins to crack after a few hot washes.
      Years ago, things were made to last, to uphold the good name of a cherished brand. Now, nothing matters but to wriggle out of a refund as often as possible and make as many sales as possible.
      The mountains of trash this consumption is an eyesore in itself, the impact on the planet this has is terrifying. Plastic produces CO2 as it breaks down. And businesses would rather dig for new resources than recycle old plastic.
      And it's only going to get worse as populations continue to increase. Beats me 'why' they are increasing as much as they are - since, if the parents are uncomfortable during this trend for weather extremes, how do they think a baby is going to feel?

    We have heard a lot about climate change and its effect, what's still missing is the actual implementation by which we can reduce the natural calamities. We spend millions for infrastructure development and almost 0 amounts towards protection of nature and maintaining balance between concrete structures and trees. It's do or die situation and we still are discussing what's causing these climate changes 🫣

Person should first seek to develop himself and find some suiting career to provide for a family. Then, and only then maybe think about having children. Delhi /NCR is fast getting more and more concretized. This has created heat island effect. Concrete urban areas absorb heat during long summer days, but during nights they radiate heat during all short nights. Effect is that nights remain hot, making temperature unbearable for all living beings. Forest cover and undeveloped landscapes have capacity to absorb high summer temperatures and thus keep the area cooler and bearable, but those golden days are over and gone for good, particularly in India. As development cannot stop, so heat island effect and climate change will be the new norm. Dense over-population, pollution, widespread poverty are factors which are unsurmountable.

It discusses about scientists good space sulfur dioxide across the Arctic that will cool the Arctic and it will increase the incidence of acid rain however it will prevent the ice from melting in the Arctic as a result of China pulling back on its burning of coal and oil, also the international Maritime organization requiring all Container shipping companies to reduce its sulfur content and bunker crude and all the container ships worldwide, over a few years it would reduce the sulfur content in the atmosphere and allow more solar radiation to strike the surface of the Earth but in particular the world's oceans this is caused a global increase above the normal rate of warming that has really shocked scientist. I guess you could say the atmosphere and planet Earth is a thermal runaway and scare and scientists are very scared

They ran out, had the fans closed instead of using them to keep outsiders from seeing the concert and Taylor Swift had her people distributing waters in the crowd. You could see her struggling to breathe herself, I know she's performing and that is raising her temperature but being smooshed in with all those people and it being that hot too. It was miserable for all involved...

      1) the closest earth gets to the sun each year is early January, not now.
      2) seasons are determined by the tilt of the planet, not the distance to the sun
      3) global average temp has been increasing for over a century, this trend is not an annual cycle by definition
