The original and still the best Jungle Pam Hardy she wasn’t just a back up girl she was a crew member and helped jungle work on the car the good old days of barnstorming match racing

What people fail to realize is if you have ever done a track walk... the race surface is super tacky and will just about pull your shoes off. These girls are running in high heels on that.

Jungle Pam had her time( which was great), but now it's time for these girls . Of which , are pretty damn good themselves. Some better than others.

These nostalgic funny cars don't have 11,000 hp and go 330+ mph, but they are WAY badder looking than our current "cookie cutter" cars. These LOOK like hot rods!! The only thing (besides these) with as much "cool" factor are some of the Pro Mods. Great video!😎👍
When I was a youngster 70’s and beginning of the 80’s, there weren’t any chicks that helped the funny cars/dragsters in reverse. I went all the time and it just wasn’t a thing…it gives females something to do at a drag strip. Back in the years I mentioned, there was only one female that drag raced (to my recollection) and that was Shirley “Cha Cha” Muldowney. I enjoyed meeting all those cool dudes… Don “The Snake” Prudhomme, Don Garlits, Mickey Thompson, Connie Kalitta and others. If you asked me to name a current driver, I would be lossteure as $hit! 👊🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

How in the Hell did these Cars get backed up before without the back up woman ?
The perfect back up girl will have enough shaking to entertain the crowd, but not so much it distracts the driver.
Funny story ,My dad n I ran a altered in the late 70s/80s ,,,Mom made one rule for us ! No back up girls ! Hell that was a big reason we got the car !
THIS IS WHAT IS MISSING, OR A BIG PART ! Long burnouts ,girls baking up cars ,oh ,fire burnouts, good looking cars ,not everything looking the same! Just late 60s early 70s , when it was a show too! Because the way its going, the sport will be dead in a few years. And no,I don't want what Garlits is cooking up!

Many here are burning alcohol not nitro so wild is not what I would think of in that class..wild = nitro burning altereds ..they are so cool on burnouts..all squirrely going sideways with the front wheels in the air...hehehe that's a wild ride...but....all funny cars are cool 😎

Has anyone put a TESLA body onto a funnycar chassis yet? Might need a couple of incredible silencers and a better than average firewall.
They limit this to 1/8 mile cause of lack of driving skills ?? Haven't been watchin' drag cars in a while. They got some damn horsepower though !!

Need a much closer examination of some of those ladies, for sure. Correct me if I'm wrong, but some of the races were 1/8 mile. Finishing at 3.8 sec and 160 on a fairly clean run does not equal a 1/4 mile.

many of these teams would do well with less rear ballast and a leaner fuel mixture...just sayin...
I was writing something similar about the quality of the leaner mixtures back in the 70s but I must have used some banned terms to describe the late models with wide bodies so youtube shut me down!
Agree. The friction involved in the lower end has to be severe. Balancing the weight upfront would improve performance.

I'm noticing a correlation between the length of the burnouts and backing speed to...
Do some F..KING burnouts.....take off the throttles stops!!!!! Lets see some smoke posers!!!! Do what the fans came to see and put some dry hops and "Chi-Town" burnouts in the show....do what made funny cars a fan favorite and then I"ll start making the haul to Bakersfield again...until then "F" the eye candy "Jungle Pam" wanna bees.....Roland Leong said it best....these guys don't have clue....
