I have a whole new respect for you both after watching this episode. Proud of you for standing up for what you believe it and standing firm. I had my children in the 80's, when I just believed in the health care system knowing what is right. If I had it to do all over again I would absolutely NEVER vaccinate my children. Congratulations on your beautiful, healthy baby girl! Take Care!
Good for you guys, way to protect your wishes! I work in an ER as a medical professional and it is so important for patients to be their own advocates. Good job, Parents.❤
Well done guys, keep following your instincts, you know what's best for your beautiful girl better than anyone. Can I just say, I'm Aussie and had 4 babies in an Australian hospital and I had a few difficult moments during the delivery and after with a few staff there too. My youngest was having trouble feeding and they wanted me to give her formula. I refused (they weren't thrilled about it though) as I wanted to breast feed her and It all worked out. You are such a gorgeous, loving couple, it shows in Lyla already, just look how calm and settled she is. Wishing you all much love and happiness.
Don't worry, hospitals in Thailand are ranked among the best in the world. However, hospitals still have some problems. No matter which country you are in, you should follow the hospital rules to keep you and your child safe. May your family be healthy.
Im an aussie nurse.I had my first baby in singapore in 1978 I went to ante natal class and was keen to have an active birth which was a new thing then. I went to a fancy private hospital. Everyone spoke english but they insisted that I stayed in bed.they gave me meds with minimal explanations, Doctors orders,my baby was vaccinated for TB at birth without my knowledge government regulations.birth certificate was not issue until.vaccinations are completed..luckily my daughter was fine, born in 6 hours but I was a bit traumatised. My chinese husband played his part by passing outside. His relatives were super attentive and constently advising me with post partum cultural practise . Your Thai experience sounds wonderful. I would advise hiring a nurse or doola to be your voice ,write your requests in the local language at least a month early.also, 25:38 gifts for staff sometimes in cash may smooth their responses. Best wishes from perth,
Congratulations. I’m glad you put your foot down and stayed with Mandy and YOUR baby. I was a midwife for 47 years and when I started I was helping mums have a home birth so dad was very much involved. Gradually over the years things changed and it became “private women’s business “ I’m glad to say, slowly it started to go back to dad being involved again. When I left dad was very much encouraged to stay with all 3 “rooming in” for their hospital stay. The hospital room was made to look like a normal bedroom as much as possible,As for the vitamin k injections/oral dose, you made an informed choice which is all that can be asked. Mandy and Lyla are lucky to have such a caring husband/daddy.
I can’t tell you how happy I am for the three of you. Lloyd you are an awesome daddy. Way to go on sticking with your instincts and intuition. You both did amazing. I’m so happy for you and excited!! It’s so beautiful isn’t it? Cherish this time for sure, because it goes so fast. Congratulations to you and I will definitely keep you all in my prayers. ❤❤❤😊
Self-confidence is good, but it should be based on the truth, not your own beliefs. Because what you have is a small living thing that has just opened its eyes to see this world. If you are not sure, you should consult a specialist before accepting or rejecting what they offer because you cannot afford to make a mistake with your child's life. The medical profession is a profession that requires responsibility for life and has very strict laws in Thailand. If they make a mistake just once, it may cause them to lose their career and may be prosecuted criminally. So you can be confident. But you are right not to accept anything easily from non-doctors because those people are less responsible than doctors. So I would like to suggest that when something is offered, do not rush to accept or reject it before getting advice from a doctor who has expertise directly.
They did their own research for 9mths before giving birth. This allows them to confidently say yes or no in the moment, one of the most stressful and vulnerable moments of their lives which actually isn't the time for people to making these life altering decisions. Especially when these "all knowing" Drs couldn't even provide any real evidence or research on risks or side effects in the moment.
@laurabrown5176 You misunderstood. All the offers given to them from some non-medical personnel are marketing offers. Most doctors in Thailand will not get involved in marketing of the hospital because it can seriously damage their careers. Importantly, most doctors in Thai hospitals are not doctors who work only in that hospital. They also have their own health clinics which are their own businesses and may also work in other government and private hospitals. Therefore, there is no need to risk doing marketing to help only one hospital because if there is a problem, it may damage their careers as a whole. Everything in the clip will be presented through non-medical personnel because Thai doctors will not put themselves at risk with these things.
Congratulations. I've been watching you two a long time. You are like family to me. I think you should give your baby vaccines that are known to be safe. It's your choice.
Absolute pleasure meeting you today. Watched this video when I got back to my condo. No one cares for your child like you will. You both did great. Thank you for sharing.
Usually in Thailand the patients' relatives are asked to wait outside during medical checkup so the staff can better focus on the routines and the patients; however in private hospitals husbands are allowed to be with wives during normal labours. Hope that helps a bit.

At the end of the day, it’s your child and we all know that you wouldn’t do anything to put it in harms way so every decision is yours regardless of what they think. Hey guys! I'm happy to hear Lila is doing well. Just letting you know that with my 3 births they would take the baby to the nursery to check their blood sugar level and let me rest if I needed it. I could not produce breast milk enough so mine were all formula cesarean babies. I did feel anxious about the change in nurses but I actually knew one of them. It's normal to want to keep your baby in the room. But they do it to everyone as their job.

Lloyd and Mandy keep your eyes peeled on your daughter. How quickly time flies, and she will grow up to be a fine lady soon. God's blessings on both of you.

I'm past my birthing days, but this is an incredible vlog. Super helpful to all who are expecting either in Thailand or another country. So happy you stood your ground.
in the hospital if it is a serious case the doctor will not allow who ever not belong in the team go inside the room even you want to be beside your wife when she give a birth. Do you know why ? it is not only privacy but for the doctor and the team able to focus on their job. if some one be there and talk or do any thing that will affect to the process won't be a good idea. in case they need your decision the doctor will get out of the room and ask your decision right the way. but if the case not really serious or dangerous they will allow you to be in the room.
Congrats you two! I agree with your view on waiting for vaccines. I personally think the chemicals in them are too strong for a newborns body and can cause unseen until later brain issues. Don’t listen to all the nay sayers. Your episodes are so informative and you’ve helped so many people have the courage to travel. You inspired my trip to Thailand and Vietnam ❤
We are pregnant at 32nd week atm and based in Phuket . Also in Bangkok hospital . We went through Birth plan two weeks ago ,also refused all vacciness but the vitamin K was hardly pushed on us which was very uncomfortable . They said if we refuse we not aloud give birth at this hospital ,pretty rough 😖 and chose oral too… congrats to you ❤
Congratulations on the birth of a precious baby. Re vaccines protect her from others that could infect her while she is so young. Whooping cough and measles are deadly for infants. I am not sure what the stats are for herd immunity in Thailand but would consider it to be low. Protect your precious angel.

I was born 67 years ago, FOUR 1/2 months early. If I had not been born at the Yale University hospital (an Ivy League University hospital) at Yale University where my mother’s father was a professor of physical biochemistry, I would never have survived.
I'm so glad it all worked out in the end. You are definitely in uncharted waters in HH. Not a lot of births and yes, trying to deal with cultural differences and language barriers. Interesting to pay upfront, but like you, I do get it.
Saying this from a parent perspective. When we had our first newborn (in Texas) me and the in laws followed the staff and watched the baby like a hawk. Unfortunately we couldnt catch them vaccinating our child they did it secretly. And they also prescribed a patch to my wife which cut milk production. Conventional medicine in Hospital will definitely push unnecessary products and they get annoyed if you challenge them because most people just go withthe flow. We rejected the vaccination for the second child and doctor was not pleased.
i think husband could not enter the room because doctor wants his/her team to be relax not in a stress environment. they are afraid that you would yell or demand things from the team. please understand doctors' mental situation.😊
Congratulations guys! She is divine and this video is very very helpful! We are very much on the same page and will be giving birth in Thailand too. I have a question - did you look into home birthing in Thailand? Did you have much luck in finding anyone? Xx
very weird.. epidural is very common in Thailand for giving birth. I husband is supposed to be with wife during labor period the whole time. My wife just gave birth to our first child 4 months ago in Bangkok. I was with her the whole way. I think Bangkok Hospital in Huahin is not up to standard on many points for Private hospital in Thailand.
Love you guys! Let me give you one advice as an older mom! Don't hold a new born baby straight up as you do in the video because her backbone and neck aren't strong at all yet and it could cause her trauma! She needds support this way. Id the mom is leaning back it would have been ok but she was straight up, so... Just saying cause I like you.
Bloody rockstar parents!! Well done, guys. Sounds pretty typical of any Western hospital birth too, unfortunately 😒 but well done for researching, having an actual birth plan and advocating for yourselves and your baby. Maybe a home birth next time, huh? 😏 We've had both of our children at home (Australia) and they were the most incredible experiences. You don't have to fight or argue anything and you get to hop straight into your own bed with your new baby ❤️
@@LloydandMandy I know it was your choice, mates. I am just curious as to what motivated you two to agree not to get your daughter jabbed, that's all. Oh, no judgement at all! To each their own. I just am curious.
@@SuiGenerisAbbie to be completely honest, the doctor couldn’t give us any concrete statistics or potential risks, sort of felt as if they were just advising us to do what they always do without question. In our opinion the doctor should be able to give more info on risks involved so that the patient can make an informed decision 🤷♂️
Well done video glad you chose no vaccine Mine were done at birth no consultation Full respect you looking after your babies health. Very smart always be present with baby in hospital. Your both great parents they grow way too quick Enjoy every stage she's Adorable.
I wish I didn’t get my newborns vaccinated 16 years ago in Hawaii had I known. But I was fear mongered and really thought something bad would happen if I didn’t. But I learned that breastfeeding is the best thing for baby and mother.
wow, i am so happy that you did not left your baby alone, seems like, could be, they want to do something, vacs or this other thing, behind the back of the parents. I regret so much, that i trustet them, when i had my baby. As more as i am happy now for you being so protective and smart for your child. Think about all the others, full of vac. from the first day of their live. This is not mother nature, thats against all nature.
Sounds really old-fashioned not letting the husband in 😢 also being in ER is strange as generally you go to the maternity ward straight away but i guess different country/culture, they are obviously different. You do get bitchy midwives in Australia who are also stubborn in their ways so culd happen anywhere too. Sounds like a confusing start. Normal for them to offer to give them formula if you want a few days in if baby is hungry and your breast milk hasnt come in yet but not straight away. Really glad she is healthy otherwise and Mandy 6 hours is awesome ❤
What were you worried about not sure I understand what would you have done if she started hemorrhaging I’m not judging but you have had your first baby hospitals have been birthing babies since day dot and babies cry nursing her all day is not going to help you later lots of complaining guys babies are born every day you have dramatised the whole experience
What you think millions of mothers don’t care thoughtyou two were smarter than that you get a bit testy when people don’t agree typical utubers love all the good comments but don’t dare havea different opinion what are you going to do when your baby girl needs immunisation at 2 months
@joyriley9392 why would their baby NEED injections at 2mths? Their baby will still be immunised through safe exposure. Look at their lives! Their baby is exclusively breastfed (the most effective form of immune support) and they are so health conscious themselves, that's the best form of immune support. Far superiors than any form of synthetic drug. They also had a natural, normal pregnancy and birth. The microbiome passed from Mandy to Lyla during birth is extremely beneficial in her health. I have a 7yo and 4yo, unvaccinated, who have never even seen a GP once in their life. I have a 23yo and 25yo brother, never vaccinated, surprisingly still alive and healthy 😮 Natural exposure to normal viruses in healthy people is significantly less risky than injecting toxic amounts of chemicals into an infant's body

My wife just gave birth to our first child 4 months ago in Bangkok. I was with her the whole way. I think Bangkok Hospital in Huahin is not up to standard on many points for Private hospital in Thailand.
All of Bangkok hospital chain is JCI-Accredited hospital.
Congrats
Why didn’t you want Lyla vaccinated?
In America, that would not fly so high.
@@SuiGenerisAbbie just our personal choice 🙏
@@LloydandMandy I know it was your choice, mates. I am just curious as to what motivated you two to agree not to get your daughter jabbed, that's all. Oh, no judgement at all! To each their own. I just am curious.
@@SuiGenerisAbbie to be completely honest, the doctor couldn’t give us any concrete statistics or potential risks, sort of felt as if they were just advising us to do what they always do without question. In our opinion the doctor should be able to give more info on risks involved so that the patient can make an informed decision 🤷♂️
@ AGREED. Well said!
@ I hate feeling condescended to, don't you?
Well done video glad you chose no vaccine
Mine were done at birth no consultation
Full respect you looking after your babies health.
Very smart always be present with baby in hospital.
Your both great parents they grow way too quick
Enjoy every stage she's Adorable.
thank you
I wish I didn’t get my newborns vaccinated 16 years ago in Hawaii had I known. But I was fear mongered and really thought something bad would happen if I didn’t. But I learned that breastfeeding is the best thing for baby and mother.
Have a Thai Name for Thaigirl?

สวัสดีค่ะ🙏🇹🇭ขอให้มีความสุขในทุกๆวันนะคะ🙏🇹🇭
wow, i am so happy that you did not left your baby alone, seems like, could be, they want to do something, vacs or this other thing, behind the back of the parents. I regret so much, that i trustet them, when i had my baby. As more as i am happy now for you being so protective and smart for your child. Think about all the others, full of vac. from the first day of their live. This is not mother nature, thats against all nature.
Love your content but why are so many good youtubers anti vaxxers :(
@@bamse23123 I think 2020 opened a lot of people’s eyes to the “business” side of the medical industry.

Vitamin K ok, no vax of any kind. Breast milk and sensible care is the best answer. Good to stay strong.

lol thank you!
What were you worried about not sure I understand what would you have done if she started hemorrhaging I’m not judging but you have had your first baby hospitals have been birthing babies since day dot and babies cry nursing her all day is not going to help you later lots of complaining guys babies are born every day you have dramatised the whole experience
@@joyriley9392 lol. Believe it or not some people care about what chemicals get put into there babies body minutes after it’s born, crazy concept 🤷♂️
What you think millions of mothers don’t care thoughtyou two were smarter than that you get a bit testy when people don’t agree typical utubers love all the good comments but don’t dare havea different opinion what are you going to do when your baby girl needs immunisation at 2 months
@ thanks for sharing Joy 🙏
@joyriley9392 why would their baby NEED injections at 2mths? Their baby will still be immunised through safe exposure. Look at their lives! Their baby is exclusively breastfed (the most effective form of immune support) and they are so health conscious themselves, that's the best form of immune support. Far superiors than any form of synthetic drug. They also had a natural, normal pregnancy and birth. The microbiome passed from Mandy to Lyla during birth is extremely beneficial in her health. I have a 7yo and 4yo, unvaccinated, who have never even seen a GP once in their life. I have a 23yo and 25yo brother, never vaccinated, surprisingly still alive and healthy 😮 Natural exposure to normal viruses in healthy people is significantly less risky than injecting toxic amounts of chemicals into an infant's body
havnt you guys got a life now.. well done but its time to get a real job soon . social media mmmmm
