Or as they have called my house (like 15years ago) introducing himself: Hello, im calling from Microsoft and you have a problem with your OS and need to disable your firewall". Basicly had the best 5 min or so of my life making life hell for that person and basicly told them that they should send a
technician. Never heard anything again after that.
I love doing this, when their overseas number is displayed on my phone, i answer them in a pakistani accent. If the caller is a female, i wait to make sure they are trying to scam me, then i start asking her all kinds of sexual questions.. Funny as hell !!

I can't begin to describe the serenity you have brought me. Three years ago I had quintuple heart bypass surgery. I was close to death and not doing very well in my recovery. One of these scammer outfits called and I had no idea this was a scam. He proceeded to scare me half to death. I asked him to call back because my wife would handle this better. Instead he continued to badger me. I became so upset my chest began to hurt. My blood pressure went into a danger zone. I hung up and he called back. He claimed to be Microsoft. My wife finally came home and I was so nervous. While I was telling her this same scammer called again. She told him to never call back. For those that think this is only a property crime I can assure you it's not.
Finally i can die peacefully. Im an indian myself and ive been scammed alot. Thankyou they deserved it

Btw, if you ever get them to offer you a credit card number you should take it and report it to the credit card company or bank. Let them know it has been stolen so they can take care of it for the person who was scammed and protect them from fraudulent charges.

I once knew this old man who believed these scammers and lost his apartment for giving thousands away, I kept telling him he was being scammed but he wouldnt believe me and became homeless because of these SOBs.
The word Syskey is now the most terrifying word i know.
What exactly does it do? When you start the computer you have to enter a password to do anything? Is that right?

@@sunnytex1337 It's the encrypted login to your computer when it boots so if you don't have it you are shit out of luck. If it's encrypted and the password is long then you are seriously done in, unless you do things you don't want to do because there is no getting around encryption. Maybe if you did some insane forensics on it who nows.
@@dankmheems290 It has only encrypted the login. If you need access to the actual os your hosed however if you just need data then theres several ways around this. Remove hard drive, attach to other computer, retrieve contents. Alternatively boot from usb drive containing linux on the actual pc with issue, mount your hard drive - retrieve contents.
@@Thatkiwiguy Yes you're very right which is why I threw forensics etc in there as possible solutions, although forensics would be more for a damaged drive. The average scammer probably wouldn't get past that point. Also the password he entered was very small which I assume could easily be bruteforced. I assume people here know about removing HDD's and using a dock etc which is what I do with old drives. I'd probably go for the Live USB because you'd have much more control. I can only imagine running virtualbox with win10 but on Kali Linux and all it's tools. Or making your homepage in Chrome a website with XSS or some JS trickory to unveil all their info and implant malware on their computers. That's how the NSA/CIA caught some people on the dark web.

It wouldn't surprise me if he does scam the scammers, and just doesn't make videos of it because of the possible legal repercussions. But it is a good point for you to point out that its still illegal, even if it is well deserved.
