Nice recipe, the onion, celery, and carrot mix is called mirepoix {meer-pwah) and it's the moisture of those vegetables that releases the brown bits from the pan. And the holy trinity is a Cajun / Louisiana creole vegetable, which is onions, green bell pepper, and celery.
Thank you, every time he said Holy Trinity my eye would twitch a little and I would say mirepoix under my breath. I thought I was just being critical, now I know it wasn't just me
Yes, let it cool. It is so important. Give it time to rest. And I love your music your children is so happy. And when it was long enough for the little ones to eat it it’s the perfect temperature now if you want it warmer that’s another story. Thank you so much I enjoyed
@Dogmama00 Hey, Benji so what were the girls' verdict? Hope they didn't 'hate' it, after all the effort & time you put into making the lasagna. It takes me about 2 & a half hours to make mine from Prep to Cook time. From the look on Leah's face, maybe she didn't like it?
I have to try bechamel again in my lasagna maybe use more cause it was too dry. It's the moisture that deglazes the pan. That looks bomb. I love using ricotta nostalgic for me too my mom did as well!!❤
I wish i was invited lol … that looks sooooo good !!! Love this recipe and thank you for all of your tips Benji . I’m definitely going to make this for my family 😋
Do you have a written recipe for this by chance? This looks amazing. Love the béchamel sauce in it and the plus side is it dues not have ricotta, which I’m not a big fan of.
Try it with just béchamel first, I would be surprised if you miss the ricotta. This is how I learned to make lasagna from my Italian grandmother and I get rave reviews every time I make it for someone new. I also have family that ask me for lasagna as gifts.
Doesn’t have to be exact ingredients! Bone broth is pricey but another alternative I would use is vegetable broth! It also has good vitamins and minerals. I’m also planning to make this dish soon, and most likely use a budget friendly recipe for this! It would taste amazing regardless of ingredients you buy!
Sicilian from Philly, here, and I approve this recipe 1,000%!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE the high happiness energy you bring to your videos, Benji!!! xoxoxox

I'm sure this tastes great but I really love my lasagna receipe and don't think I could change it to a simpler one like this.
I just made your recipe last night for our Christmas party for CrossFit . It’s always a hit !! Thank you Benji!😊
Benji, you didn't include your girls' reaction to the lasagna in the vlog. Would love to see their satiated looks & hear their comments.

How much butter, flour, parmesan for the 4 cups of milk?
Benji They are a loving family ❤
🤤 looks amazing thanks for sharing this. I learned a lot! 🙌👏
Benji- you should fry up the leftover lasagna noodles to have as “chips” w/ the leftover sauces 😋
benji tha'ts total genius on chopping the veggies in the food processor!!
Agree, that's a Eureka moment, using a food processor to mince the veg.

My family and i love this recipe
hi benji! what can i substitute beef bone broth with?
Do you keep your eggs on the counter?
I wonder if you can add ricotta or if it would be overdoing it.
You can alternate the layers of cheese. 1 layer parm, 1 layer mozzarella, and another layer ricotta

You don’t have to use the exact same items… go get the ingredients from aldi.
You can always substitute the ingredients especially if those weren't available in your area or a bit out of budget..
What is for rich people here. These are basic ingredients that can be bought by anyone
