I forgot to add in the clip of Specimen 73 but the video's linked with the other clips I used in the description. Unrelated to that, how do you feel the fallout set did? And what was your least favourite Universes Beyond set?
My least favourite is any art frame that depicts environments more “modern” than Ravnica’s levels of technology. I’ll admit hipocracy for enjoying Neo Kamigawa but besides that I didn’t like The Walking Dead modern backgrounds & weapons, Stranger Things skateboards & neon, 40k when lazguns are shown instead of swords and other melee weapons etc.

@@cristianbernal8009Been a hot minute, but I definitely remember 2 distinctly being interesting because it _did_ follow the continuity of the original. It was very different in many aspects, certainly, but that was the point. The first game displayed the wasteland shortly after civilization began to reform, whereas 2 was further along the path of recovery, showing the struggles to rebuild civilization and the conflicting ideas regarding what shape the new world should take. The issue with the more modern Bethesda games is that there's no real sense of mobility or progression of the world at large in each subsequent game. You're always stuck in a wasteland with smaller civilizations struggling to get a foothold still using bottle caps as currency for some inexplicable reason. Like, that was the whole point of 2 switching to an actual currency system, and even New Vegas toyed with this concept using the Legion's currency as a higher exchange rate currency compared to bottle caps.
@@cristianbernal8009Outside of few hickups, like F2 claiming in one of the dialogues that there was a jet addicts before jet was invented, and Vault 13 tribe degrading to the point that they didn't know how to sharpen spears in just 70 years, series was fairly consistent. Same goes for New Vegas, because it was made by the same people who made F1 and 2. Bethesda's Fallout and their lore can only be described as a hot fanservecing garbage.

The Railroad DOES care about other generations of synth and other AIs, but it's a matter of internal debate. Some characters think they should save all synths and also things like assaultrons and so on, and some are just about the Gen 3 synths. That said, I'm sure the art director was like "make sure people can tell they're helping a synth" and so told them to do gen 2 instead of gen 3.
the biggest failure of this set personally speaking, is not reprinting figure of destiny in the flavor of courier six, or even the lone wanderer. you could have something like the class cards from the dungeons and dragons as creatures. you would choose what they would have depending on what kind of choices YOU the player made in the story. figure of destiny but they can be a dashing rogue working under caesar represented through deathtouch and lifelink, or a soldier with double strike under the ncr, there's just so much potential wasted! (also why the heck is a med kit printed in this set and not just a stimpack card? and why are there no craftable medkits in fallout?)
Worst Universe Beyond, until WOTC's next Universe Beyond. The one flavour win that literally nobody has mentioned is Rex's card art which has him chewing up some blue suede shoes.
I cannot think of anything more cringe than a Sheogorath commander deck with Un cards. Two awful ideas on their own combined to make something actually repulsive.
It may just be that I want more of it, but I feel it is a huge flavor fail that the Mutants precon didn't have any new Mutate creatures. I get these are more meant to be an entry point for new players that are familiar with Fallout and Mutate is a very complicated mechanic, but It definitely would have been a flavorful mechanic to include. I just want more Mutates for my Otrimi deck, dangit!
I think the issue the Railroad art has was that they didn't know how to make it clear that they were helping Synth if did actually look just like people so to try and make it clearer they just used the design that looks clearly mechanical
Ok, here we go. Remember, you asked for this. Minor Gripes about my favourite Universes Beyond Set. After : is the lore reason why it annoys me. Actually annoying Flavour Fails: The nightbringer - (literal death) lacks deathtouch: actually death. There are many other things this card should also have, but deathtouch is so far up the list it breeches the atmosphere. Sisters of Silence - Should. Have. Shroud: Sisters of silence are the oppocite of a Psyker, they are Psychic nulls. This means all psychich power close to them just ceases to be, there is no magical power that can affect them or target them. Their ability makes sense, but they should definitely have shroud. Arco-Flagellant - Should be artifact creatures: They are so heavilt modified this should be a given. Plasmancer - Oh this is real annoying: This is another form a Cryptek, who specialised in a particular field of study. A plasmancer (Plasma technomancer) are also called "Harbringers of Destruction". Guess what they are good at? Did you guess causing destruction at a distance with superheated plasma? Pfff, silly, no of course their speciality is finding lands. Besides, there is not like there is a Cryptek study that specialises in terraforming and geomancy. Except there is, they are Called called Harbringers of Transmogrification or Geomancers. There is literally a Cryptek for what you wanted this to do and instead you make it a Plasmancer? annoying, flavour fail. Art Mishap: Bloodcrusher of Khorne - This, is not the right art: The bloodcrushers is a large demonic beast, this art shows its rider. It is like if the art for lotr Oliphant just showed the dude riding it. Assault Intercessor - This one, annoys me: The marine it depicts is an Ultramarine. Ultramarines are generalists. Can they be Assault intercessors? Sure. Are there, literally tens of other space marine chapters more suitable to be depicted as a close combat unit? Most. Definitely. This should at least have been a black templar. Ultramarines get too much attention as it is. Minor Gripes: Tomb Sentinel - Stats are kinda weak : It is a massive unit. There is only 1 Lokhust Destroyer card: this is a crime. Destroyers are the best unit. Fite me. Lynchguard - is kinda weak: They either wield one of the most potent close combat weapons in the game, or a hyper advanced shield that reflects projectiles. This is fine, just a lil eh. Tomb Blade - is, way overstatted, and is ability... doesn't really make sense?: They are essetially hyper advanced auto controlled flying cavalry, so I guess the ability means they are flanking the enemy and... putting them in a bad spot? I'm reaching here. Psychomancer - why not trigger on token? the necron warriors are tokens? Flayed one - Doesn't have flash: they are necrons infected with a maddening curse causing them to teleport to locations to seek out fresh bodies to shred and dress themselves in, before teleporting back to their madness dimension. Flash would make sense. Monolith - Should be 8 toughness and power. Pink Horror - The blue horrors should split into 2 brimstone horrors: That's how they work in the game. The brimstone horrors can be real bad, they can be 0/1s with no abilities, but it would be nice to complete the cycle. Chaos terminator lord - For how powerful of a unit this is, its kinda lackluster. The Horus Heresy - 3 Chapters? Haaaah. You wish: Half of 40k fiction is about the horus heresy. 40k's fiction is gargantuan. The Ruious Powers - So, no one really brought this up at the time I think. But this is just a compilation picture of 40k miniatures. Yeah, those are just phographs under a red flame filter. Except the tzeench one maybe? The nurgle one definitely is, the khorne one is, the slaanesh one is most likely as well. Just, kinda weird. The Swarmlord - Is, a lil weak for what it is. my friend is really bothered by it but I think it fits. The Red Terror - Ehm?: The Red terror's thing is that it is deadly on its own and devours enemies whole, taking them out no matter how armoured they think they are. So, it doesn't, really make sense. but I'm not that upset by it. Still cool. Mawloc - Hmm? Oh its Great, but why did it have to be red? Szarekh, The Silent King - eeeeeeh...: This is such a massive character in the lore that any depiction of them would be difficult to justify. Lets just say this is fairly weak. And there we are. Listing everything they got right would take longer. And there are still some gripes (the necrons should not have unearth, they should have persist or undying.) So here is your reference list, thanks for the video, I thought I was in the minority of being annoyed by the fallout set. Stay tuned for the doctor who breakdown coming soon (tm).
I forgot one, and it's a big one, one belonging to the Actually annoying Flavour Fails: Venomthrope - should have a ward board buff instead of hexproof: The venomthrope produces a large cloud of toxic spores that shrouds surrounding units and gives them cover from ranged attacks. They are a unit for supporting and buffing other parts of the army. So a "Tyranids you control have ward 1" would make a whole lot more sense. It could even be "Tyranids you control with power (X) or less have ward 1) power 4, 3, or something, showing it shrouds the smaller units but the smog cannot reach to obscure a titan. Instead they just gave it flying and hexproof and deathtouch. Deathtouch makes sense (why didn't the nightbringer get it???). Hexproof, only for itself, doesn't. And flying... It hoovers 5 centimetre off of the ground. Just, a misunderstood card.
Madison Li is the commander of the science deck because she’s the bridge between the BoS in FO3 and the Institute in FO4, the two primary factions present in the Science deck. Out of all the decks I actually think Li is the best commander choice. Caesar has the problem that his deck is mostly just “the FNV deck” so you have a bunch of House and NCR stuff in there. No real solution there, it’s mostly the effect of the structure (commander decks) they chose for this UB set. The mutants deck is both natural mutants and FEV mutants, and there’s no character that really aligns with both. So they have the mothman as a legendary natural mutant, and the master as the leader of an FEV mutant army. They had to choose for the command zone. And dogmeat is a dog.
Dude explains that humans trust Valentine because of his appearance, then says "I don't get why Valentine can only be blocked by artifact creatures, that doesn't make sense".
It might be worse overall via quantity, but there is nothing that will top the lack of care of damage dealing boogie bomb. They took an item that put creatures into a temporary state where they can't attack or defend, and just pasted it on a spell that had bomb in the name. Honestly the tutor is the only fortnite card that works. I can and have ranted at length about every single card in that thing.
yes man's first ability is actually a reference to Humble Defector; a red card with that same ability. and I mean, yeah he sure does defect pretty easily. but yeah he probably should do more than just make soldier tokens, especially as wild card can end up recruiting a wide variety of people to fight for you
The Freedom railroad is a reference to the Civil War era Underground Railroad, not the Civil Rights era. I know you aren't American so I thought Iwould just let the comment section know lol
The Recon Craft that takes you to Mothership Zeta is already crashed, yes. But there’s a random encounter in both 3 and 4 that involves a crashing alien craft streaking across the sky - in 3 it blows up mid flight and you can find the Blaster and some cells under wherever it blows up. In 4, you can follow the direction it was crashing towards to find the crashed craft and an alien alive (and angry) in a cave. So since in the art we see it damaged and streaking across the sky, it’s perfectly flavored for what it is.
The Inventory Management alternate art is supposed to be the Aura version (temporary buffs, stimpack), while the regular version is the Equipment version. Anyway this video gave a good laugh! Good stuff!
I would have gone with the ability to reveal the top card of your library and play him at instant speed if the card matches some kind of condition, like it being a nonland permanent, then give them first strike, death touch, and vanishing. So, you get a semi-random chance of him showing up, killing an enemy and then disappearing
A little overly nitpicky in some cases, like some characters and their abilities are in decks because of it works in the deck and their association like the Caesar card that would not be a apart of his group but it makes sense to be in his deck. Also we are playing the deck so yes alien saucer doesn't work but were playing magic and its a vehicle and come on reprints are reprints like hornet queen its fine. But your right about others like railroad the character and gen 2 synths yeah art fail and yes Maddison li yeah no one knows why but here we are.
Slight correction, the platinum chip didn't upgrade the OS of any of houses hardware, it only had the driver programs which allowed the securitrons to access and use their higher powered weapons and self repair systems which had been there all along
(editing while watching)Nick tells a story about how he tricked humans into running away "idk why only robots would block him" x.x nuka nuka launcher is pretty fun it shoots nukacola woot. Ruinous ultimatum does make sense for him he is killing everything that isnt legion and ether you join it or die Over encumbered gives them 3 artifacts if they arent into heavy artifact uses probably wont have a proper sac outlet meaning 2 for food 2 for clue so 4 mana total ya its value but its still probably gonna stop one player from playing anything big for one turn or attacking if they still do Stranger i have had this mofo shoot stupid baby mire lurks fresh from eggs instead of any of the 20 big ones or the queen or a random bloat fly that i didnt even know was there instead of assassin's (from the legion or ncr depending on run) so it being random on what removal ill get makes sense Vats you ether focus all your ap on one tougher target or spread them out to lots o weaker ones if you know youll one shot weaker weapons take less ap and can therefore be used to take out even more weaker enemies
NGL I'll still buy the Mothman mainly becaue it has many of the things I like in MTG: - G/W/U - +1+1 Counters - Self Mill - Mutants - Zombies - Big creatures - Ramp - Tokens
To be fair. The cesears legion deck is technically Boros, so you can choose to run Boone as the commander. Though you would probably have to replace the legion cards with the other boros cards of the set. Gotta love having cards in a commander set, not printed into the precons themselves.
my experience with the mysterious stranger perk was it would bug out, the vats cutscene would play too long and another enemy would kill me while I was stuck in the cutscene
Before watching, I am not a hardcore fallout fan. I like the setting a lot though. I've only played 4 (a long time and I don't remember vividly) and have started new vegas. I like the set. I can't name too many super painful obvious glaring issues off the top of my head. The one thing I can think of that was pointed out to me was that the mardu deck is titled "Caesar's Legion" and Caesar is the face commander but there are direct enemies of Caesar in the deck. Which feels like a silly complaint, you can and will have opposing forces in the same deck all the time. Also I don't fully appreciate the flavor of the mysterious stranger card. Cast an instant/sorcery from grave at random don't quite feel like randomly coming in and shooting someone. I do like the card itself a lot though, very silly effect that seems fun and I enjoyed the one time I have played it.
The recon craft theta I think is a reference to one of the very rare random encounters where an alien ship explodes above you and you can then find the Firelance alien blaster and a ton of ammo for it Edit: The Railroad does care about the Gen 1 and 2s. Its just their major focus on is the gen 3s. Glory, a gen 3 Railroad heavy agent, says as much and actively advocates for her previous generation brethren Edit 2 electric boogaloo: Inventory management is back breaking! It shuts down Voltron and artifact based decks like the Settler deck
I thinkt he argument id make for bloodforge battleaxe being grognaks axe is that its a piece of media in canon that through use would gain more reprints in a way. more copies of it in fiction thus duplicating it.
Just saying, Over-encumbered has use cases. I have an extremely artifact heavy Svella, Ice Shaper/Hellkite Tyrant/Akiri, Line-Slinger centered deck. I'm low key terrified of that card coming out when I don't have any removal on-hand.
Also after having watched to the end of the video, as a tyranids player, I will never forgive wotc for printing the tyranid harridan as a 4/4. ITS THE FLYING VERSION OF THE BIOTITAN!
While I do believe you are right about the mothman commander being the wrong choice thematically, they definitely did that because the mothman is more recognizable to the general public than any Fallout character. Mothman will just move units on its own and that is how corporations do things.
I just don't like the flavor inconsistency of each commander deck. I assumed that the hail Cesar deck was going to be exclusively just fallout NV judging how it also had Mr House but it had wack cards like Butch and Kellogg. It also felt very disjointed function wise (ruthless radrat should be in the mutant deck, power fist should be in the equipment/aura deck, Red Death and CAMP should be cut immediately from the Science deck). The previous UB commander deck WH40k was also had jank but felt very fun to play and see the cards.
I like Fallout a lot and I've played 1 through 4 multiple times, but I'm an arena-only player these days, so all I can get are some card sleeves and basic land skins, and those both feel out of place without any actual Fallout cards. This set might as well not exist for me, or anyone I know. None of my friends buy the cardboard anymore. Some of them don't like supporting Wotc for whatever reason, some just don't like spending lots of money they don't have to. Idk what informs the decision to release a 'universe beyond' set as purely physical or not. Shareholder talks? An algorithm on a computer somewhere? Dungeons and Dragons had 2 universe beyond sets that were fully available on Arena, LotR had 1 and a half, but Warhammer 40k's set was cardboard only, which was disappointing because I had been looking forward to it since its announcement.
Because this and 40k are commander decks and arena doesn't have commander. The second dnd set was also commander in paper (and as such the arena baldur's gate set is actually *extremely* different from the paper Baldur's gate set, with most of the legends being scrapped or redesigned), but the difference is that the DND sets aren't actually considered universes beyond. That's also why you guys *did* get LotR, because it was a regular, noncommander set
The 40k decks were a slam dunk. But, there are grievances. I could list them, but the most annoying one, what I still cannot forget, is that the nightbringer does not have deathtouch. The nightbringer, is death, death manifested, literal death, who improbted himself as the grim reaper and image of death in all the races in immemorial time. And he doesn't have deathtouch.
Yeah, I agree with most of you takes. The thing that bothered me the most were the commander choices. Caesar and Dogmeat were fine. Madison Li makes the most sense cause she heads an energy deck, BUT, who cares about the character. She's fine as a character but not exciting. Mothman was the worst choice imo. A Sultai rad deck should've been one of three many iconic Mutants throughout the series. All of the secondary commanders were actually pretty good. They actually might've been better as the head commanders save Madison. I feel like this product was a true crossover cashgrab. Like it seems they did the bare minimum research for Fallout. No real love was put into the cards and flavors. What a let down. Mysterious Stranger was the biggest crime imo 🤦🏻♂️
My biggest issue is how far behind we are with universes within. At this point i'm worried that we aren't going to see any cards within lore for any of the non secret lair universes beyond sets like Warhammer, LOTR and now Fallout.
What irks me the most is they made Arthur Maxson White and Black. Not only does Black not fit Arthur's character at all, this color choice makes it very difficult to make a BOS commander deck since hes the only BOS member to have Black as a requirement. They seemed to have based the card entirely of the quest Blind Betrayal while also ignoring the nuance of said quest. If one actually did the ECBOS questline in 4 they would know he is actually a Red White (a color combination common to the other BOS cards) father to his men type who despite convinced Danse is a Institute synth plant that has murdered the real Danse and that all synths are a threat to humanity will spare Danse rather easily.
U can biuld mr house as an atraction deck with unfinity cards, but yes his card dont synergise well with his deck. But in total the set feels a little off...
I'm only mildly interested in Fallout so I was just taking things as they came. Next year, with Marvel and Final Fantasy being more in my wheelhouse, I wonder if I will have the same response as you have here to any inconsistencies in those sets.
Honestly i'm just confused for the colors they picked for mister house, He doesn't really strike me as mardu. On the Joshua Graham note he woulda fit better as another mardu commander
Probably, they can't release as many as they plan to without some of them being bad sets that don't represent their universe well. And it's not like they've done a bang-up job with what they've released so far...
Mechanically, the Lotor one is fine, but to exposure from it in the set I've come to the realization that I don't like Lord of the Rings and the dead and decaying story it has become. I would really like a Universes Within version of Shelob though, or maybe I'll just take my Shelob deck apart and upgrade it to a Thantis the War Weaver deck to get the Lotor stench off of it.
I really don’t get the criticism of “cards find better support elsewhere”. Mr. House’s deck needs to roll as many die as possible. The best version of him flavor wise would be to get all the bobbleheads together and try and win with the Luck bobblehead. You definitely have a surplus of dice to just try winning this way. So you already have a wincon that feels Mr. House in flavor, as he loves to collect these rare trinkets in NV. Why is it a problem that you would need to build the rest of the deck around D&D or unfinity? This man owns a CASINO STRIP. Opening attractions and just having to throw dice for every action you take is still on flavor. Most of these channels really like to whine before even truly contemplating if flavor can still be found and played around outside cards printed for a set planned for just 4 precons.
I think the decks are fun. But the Ceasar deck just... is the worst flavor/least interesting to me. The other three, at least, do new things or have interesting cards whereas Ceasar just kinda does marduu stuff
I really don't care if the set wasn't as good as it "could have been". It's fallout. In magic. Literally my two favorite games put together. Obviously wizards and Hasbro are going to drop the ball and it's not going to be perfect. They're more concerned with pushing product than making "flavorful" or "lore accurate" cards. At least we didn't get another lame crossover like MLP.
Definitely mid. There's notable overlooks and strange inclusions. Harold is a pretty wonderful. Yes man is a fun design. But its kinda strange you get danse, but not deacon. The railroad is largely overlooked. You get strong, but you don't get "the kings." The villain of fallout 3 isn't present. But 'mothman' is a face commander. No cazadors. The flavor text looks like they opened the wiki and picked random quotes. Kinda disappointing.
Other Fallout games you are missing that would have improved your credential profile Fallout Shelter Fallout Shelter: the board game Fallout: The Table Top RPG (199X) Fallout: Pinball (the retelling of Fallout 4 with Pinball) Fallout: The roleplaying game (2021) Fallout: The board game Fallout The board game: New California Fallout Warfare (2001) Fallout: Wasteland Warfare (2018)
Ngl I feel like the Fallout stuff was super rushed, the whole thing feels really incomplete and like there wasn't a lot of thought put into a big portion of set.
I wouldn’t mind UB if it was locked to secret lairs or as a format all to itself. Them being integrated with the rest of the sets and now with us having 2 a year right when Magics story is at its worst. Death approach’s for this game
I've played Fallout 3, could not finish it. The same applies to Fallout 4. But fallout new Vegas I did finish. The ultimate edition on PS3! The worst version.

In New Vegas and Fallout 3, the Fat Man launcher was renamed in regions like Japan to the Nuka Launcher to avoid referencing the Second World War.
36:20 i think it wasn’t named the fat man just because yknow, irl war atrocities reference. i wish it was called that, but i get it

I get these are more meant to be an entry point for new players that are familiar with Fallout and Mutate is a very complicated mechanic, but It definitely would have been a flavorful mechanic to include. I just want more Mutates for my Otrimi deck, dangit!
I wanted more mutate cards for my mutate Tatsunari, Toad Rider Deck. So I feel your disappointment there.
I agree 100%
I think the issue the Railroad art has was that they didn't know how to make it clear that they were helping Synth if did actually look just like people so to try and make it clearer they just used the design that looks clearly mechanical
Ok, here we go. Remember, you asked for this.
Minor Gripes about my favourite Universes Beyond Set. After : is the lore reason why it annoys me.
Actually annoying Flavour Fails:
The nightbringer - (literal death) lacks deathtouch: actually death.
Art Mishap:
Bloodcrusher of Khorne - This, is not the right art: The bloodcrushers is a large demonic beast, this art shows its rider.
Minor Gripes:
Tomb Sentinel - Stats are kinda weak : It is a massive unit.
And there are still some gripes (the necrons should not have unearth, they should have persist or undying.)
So here is your reference list, thanks for the video, I thought I was in the minority of being annoyed by the fallout set.
Stay tuned for the doctor who breakdown coming soon (tm).
I forgot one, and it's a big one, one belonging to the Actually annoying Flavour Fails:
Venomthrope - should have a ward board buff instead of hexproof: The venomthrope produces a large cloud of toxic spores that shrouds surrounding units and gives them cover from ranged attacks.
Noah did a NINE HOUR video on Fallout?!?!
When will world's beyond do the S.C.P. foundation? I want to play a SCP 682 and friends deck.
yes man's first ability is actually a reference to Humble Defector; a red card with that same ability. and I mean, yeah he sure does defect pretty easily. but yeah he probably should do more than just make soldier tokens, especially as wild card can end up recruiting a wide variety of people to fight for you
You talking about ruinous ultimatum makes me want it to be Ulysses with it.
44:12 literally could've called it mothership zeta, had all the same rules text, and not have this problem
Slight correction, the platinum chip didn't upgrade the OS of any of houses hardware, it only had the driver programs which allowed the securitrons to access and use their higher powered weapons and self repair systems which had been there all along
Tunnel Snakes Rule!!
(editing while watching)Nick tells a story about how he tricked humans into running away "idk why only robots would block him" x.x
nuka nuka launcher is pretty fun it shoots nukacola woot. Ruinous ultimatum does make sense for him he is killing everything that isnt legion and ether you join it or die
Over encumbered gives them 3 artifacts if they arent into heavy artifact uses probably wont have a proper sac outlet meaning 2 for food 2 for clue so 4 mana total ya its value but its still probably gonna stop one player from playing anything big for one turn or attacking if they still do
Stranger i have had this mofo shoot stupid baby mire lurks fresh from eggs instead of any of the 20 big ones or the queen or a random bloat fly that i didnt even know was there instead of assassin's (from the legion or ncr depending on run) so it being random on what removal ill get makes sense
Vats you ether focus all your ap on one tougher target or spread them out to lots o weaker ones if you know youll one shot weaker weapons take less ap and can therefore be used to take out even more weaker enemies
NGL I'll still buy the Mothman mainly becaue it has many of the things I like in MTG:
- G/W/U
- +1+1 Counters
- Self Mill
- Mutants
- Zombies
- Big creatures
- Ramp
- Tokens
24:33 even though it isn’t wearing the ubiquitous checkered suit that he’s known for, I figured the body under the rug was supposed to be Benny :P
No plasma rifle or laser pistol? Power armor is disappointing and the fat man seems very underpowered for a mini nuke…
The promo war room I received is misprints with the tap symbols and 3 mana symbol is skewed to the right which is pathetic for a promo card
The recon craft theta I think is a reference to one of the very rare random encounters where an alien ship explodes above you and you can then find the Firelance alien blaster and a ton of ammo for it
Edit: The Railroad does care about the Gen 1 and 2s. Its just their major focus on is the gen 3s. Glory, a gen 3 Railroad heavy agent, says as much and actively advocates for her previous generation brethren
Edit 2 electric boogaloo: Inventory management is back breaking! It shuts down Voltron and artifact based decks like the Settler deck
Dude, your apoplectic disbelief at some of the real fuckups in the set are glorious and completely founded. Good shit.
I thinkt he argument id make for bloodforge battleaxe being grognaks axe is that its a piece of media in canon that through use would gain more reprints in a way. more copies of it in fiction thus duplicating it.
the overencumbered section is a little silly after seeing the lrr gameplay
Just saying, Over-encumbered has use cases. I have an extremely artifact heavy Svella, Ice Shaper/Hellkite Tyrant/Akiri, Line-Slinger centered deck. I'm low key terrified of that card coming out when I don't have any removal on-hand.
Maybe for the nuka-nuke launcher, they didn’t want to print the card Fatman in Japan?
Also after having watched to the end of the video, as a tyranids player, I will never forgive wotc for printing the tyranid harridan as a 4/4. ITS THE FLYING VERSION OF THE BIOTITAN!
@@madelyneationhello fellow bug player. Do you do X funnies? With magus lucea kane
Indeed
While I do believe you are right about the mothman commander being the wrong choice thematically, they definitely did that because the mothman is more recognizable to the general public than any Fallout character. Mothman will just move units on its own and that is how corporations do things.
Yeah, I have a friend who doesn’t care about Fallout but saw Mothman as the commander and grabbed the deck.
Marcus and Lanius, some of the best written characters of Fallout by far. Shame you didn’t give them more of a highlight.
20:19 that means youre rolling D20, thereby rigging the system. Its kind of an unintentional flavor win, as the game was rigged from the start.
As an arena only player it really sucks not getting the cards
we're about to have a lot worse ones coming down the shit pipe
Probably, they can't release as many as they plan to without some of them being bad sets that don't represent their universe well. And it's not like they've done a bang-up job with what they've released so far...
Just upset that there are no references to big MT in the science set. Like why couldnt we get a Dr. Klein card?
It’s insane to me that Tandi, maybe the most important individual human being in Fallout canon, is not present.
I think the dnd one and I guess the lotr one can make sense because of the history of the game, I don’t like or enjoy any other universe beyond at all
Mechanically, the Lotor one is fine, but to exposure from it in the set I've come to the realization that I don't like Lord of the Rings and the dead and decaying story it has become. I would really like a Universes Within version of Shelob though, or maybe I'll just take my Shelob deck apart and upgrade it to a Thantis the War Weaver deck to get the Lotor stench off of it.
Make Deadpool, and Jinx, your partner commanders, and everything makes sense.
saying 'times' for [blank] x [blank] is very funny, I've never heard someone say it like that before
I really don’t get the criticism of “cards find better support elsewhere”.
I think the ayula reskin annoys me the most, calling it x, terror of y when goreclaw terror of qal sisma is right there lol
I think the decks are fun.
But the Ceasar deck just... is the worst flavor/least interesting to me. The other three, at least, do new things or have interesting cards whereas Ceasar just kinda does marduu stuff
Universes beyond in general is an awful idea. Mtg has a rich enough lore to explore, these feel like cashgrabs to me
tbf i dont think its an awful idea
its fun to see the cross overs
I understand where youre coming from, but this is so much better than every property trying and failing to make its own card game.
@@brutusthebear9050 I guess, but if that were the case I wouldn't see people playing daleks or transformers on commander, which kinda bothers me
@Ricardo-zo1ti Eh, don't yuck other people's yum. If it bothers you don't allow those decks in your play group.
@@brutusthebear9050 It doesn't bother me that much lol, just enough to complain on a UA-cam comment :P
Why is Piper in the mutants deck? She doesn't even have any kind of opinion about them, she has more of an opinion on Synths!
11:59 the book has a bite out of it.....
Overemcumbered might be good in Yasharn
V.A.T.S. shouldve had Multi kicker and dealt damage
Other Fallout games you are missing that would have improved your credential profile
Fallout Shelter
Fallout Shelter: the board game
Fallout: The Table Top RPG (199X)
Fallout: Pinball (the retelling of Fallout 4 with Pinball)
Fallout: The roleplaying game (2021)
Fallout: The board game
Fallout The board game: New California
Fallout Warfare (2001)
Fallout: Wasteland Warfare (2018)
To be fair what Bethesda did to Fallout was disappointing too. There really aren't any interesting characters outside of New Vegas.
Jungle shrine should have been Oasis from fallout 3
The fact that the Master wasn't a face commander is absurd
Bethesda probably isn't gonna let them reference fallout 1 or 2
These sets are def not for me but I hope they revisit junk tokens, there’s a lot of design space there
WHEN THE MYR SINGS I LISTEN!
Mysterious stranger is more like lady luck
Absolutely love this video! Keep up the good work Silver Myr:)
Ngl I feel like the Fallout stuff was super rushed, the whole thing feels really incomplete and like there wasn't a lot of thought put into a big portion of set.
i left mtg after covid. they throw themes and home grown stories out the window.
Magic has become Fortnite pretty sad 😢
I wouldn’t mind UB if it was locked to secret lairs or as a format all to itself. Them being integrated with the rest of the sets and now with us having 2 a year right when Magics story is at its worst. Death approach’s for this game
This was amazing. So many great points.
for mr house just do the unfinity cards
Personally, I feel like Mr House should be esper
I've played Fallout 3, could not finish it. The same applies to Fallout 4. But fallout new Vegas I did finish. The ultimate edition on PS3! The worst version.
they put the wrong version of harold in. 0/10
Fortnite Trading Card Game isn't that bad now once you accept the name change 😬
We deserved mirrodin
