I agree. If you want to make it like the show, you need all the ingredients of a soft taco (seasoned beef, cheese, shredded lettuce, maybe some tomato--in a tortilla), then add nacho cheese sauce & chips. My family has made this more than once. It's delicious.

I find it hilarious that Ron's naco became a legit menu item within kim possible and when in one episode when they ran out or no longer sold naco's ron was upset when in truth he could've just ordered a taco and nachos and combine like he did the first time.

Honestly, I feel like this is one of the one's where you should have made an accurate one, and then your own version. No beef, no cheap fast food queso, no over-sized tortilla bursting at the seams... no naco. Sorry, Babish.
Did the show ever elaborate on the recipe of the naco? I'm asking because I don't know. But if he only had the clip from the show that was at the beginning of the video, then he would have had to improvise a recipe. Hence, no cheap fast food accuracy.

Research is the primary source of every video. Fans make suggestions, and the suggestions are researched by Babish; do you think that the fans do the research and send him the recipe? Because that is your implied defense for this half-made video. Please don't excuse content creators for click-bait.

Aw, man it really needed the taco meat. In the show, he doesn't just put nachos in a tortilla. Before the Bueno Nacho starts serving the Naco, he gets it by ordering both a taco, and nachos, and combining everything.

Yeah this was something else entirely. No beef is the deal breaker here, it had beef in the show for sure. It is also supposed to be literally dripping and sogged through, his aim was to mitigate this for some reason. Ron never once had a dry Naco.
I feel like, having drawn in a lot of viewers with the crazy TV foods, Babby is slowly transitioning to a more normal cooking channel, and he really just wanted to show us how to make good nachos. I was let down by this one too because it's not often we see him go for something with the potential to be a real hot mess these days. I really miss the old format where he'd make two dishes: one pretty much exactly to spec, no matter how gross it was likely to turn out, and then one that was supposed to be a better or more tolerable version.

Bruh I definitely learned the glove trick the hard way. I was getting into making homemade pico de gallo, trying out all sorts of different recipes. Well my birthday comes around so I take my favorite recipe and triple it for my friends.....my hand was burning for a solid 12 hours to no relief. I chopped half a dozen jalapeno's by hand and despite washing my hands a bunch of times, still felt like I had 1st degree burns on my hands all night.

I've been making these for my daughter since 2002-03 when Kim Possible first aired this episode.
This was way more complicated than it should have been. Ron's was simple, Nachos & cheeese with meat put inside a soft taco shell.

Meh did great on the "nacho" part but I felt there was no effort on the "taco" part. I would have liked to see some beef, maybe even beans, perhaps some lettuce idk. A larger tortilla could be used to fit all this. I also feel you should have represented the original "style" of the naco before altering it (oversized, dripping with grease, cheap yellow queso...) I enjoyed that format much better, this just comes across as lazy and half- assed in comparison. (I can still tell alot of work was made to make this)
Making the stacking of the nachos gave me the idea of making a nacho lasagna. You should try that even though it’s not from anything, because I can’t cook.

In Mexican Spanish, "naco" is a word that describes things with a bad taste, in music, clothes, etc (I've heard a couple of possible translations, but I don't want to be offensive due to lack of precision). So, as a Mexican who hasn't seen KimPossible, it was a confusing title
The writers of Kim Possible may have known that "naco" meant "bad taste." The character that makes nacos, Ron, is supposed to not be very cool. A lot (but not all) of the show is Kim, who is very cool, making fun of Ron for doing something dumb.

The word itself has different meanings according to the context. It is supposed to be used with people that have a sort of tacky and kitch sort of style. But since Mexico is classist AF it's also to describe all the poor but if you have money and you are brown chances are that you are going to be called Naco as well even by other brown people. LOL

I doubt there was an outtake this episode, its quite a simple recipe that any drunk/high as fuck person could pull off (except for the queso).
I highly, doubt that. No normal human being could restrain himself and not try to immediately get a bite of the oven-hot nachos and burn the roof of his mouth. In summation, I demand the outtake.
2:00 I actually once reserved my tomato seeds and buried them. I now have very beautiful tomato vines in my home. 🥰 No need to buy them anymore.
That is a very good reason to use tomato seeds. I personally hate tomatoes so I will not be doing this.
oh and i bet they taste better than the ones from the store, too. Store bought tomatoes are harvested unripe (then forced to ripen) and stored cold (destroys what little flavor is left) so they aren’t very tasty. I’m growing a cherry tomato plant in my apartment and it’s wonderful.
This is just a gourmet version of my favourite drunken munchies, isn't it. Now I feel like I need up my late night snack game _and_ my cocktail game.

Quick guac tip! If you put the pits if the avocado into the guacamole it stats green and fresh longer.
It's always funny how your reminiscing about how you always forget the garlic in the guacamole if for some reason you have to mention it every time you make guacamole

I think my biggest problem with the new setup is you don't follow the same formula. Previous videos you did a "As close to the show as possible" version and then Babish'd (spelling?) it up! I miss that. The new kitchen has a more sterile, professional feel to it which I've grown to love. Even if you still keep the new format (which is a TON cheaper I imagine.) I'm still gonna watch. I look forward to your videos every Tuesday/Wednesday and your Basics with Babish series has been a great way for me to help other people learn to cook. Keep up the good work Babi! Hands down one of my favorite UA-camrs.

I thought the naco had meat 🤔
My take on the Naco is, of-course a burrito sized tortilla, a nice thin spread of sour cream (if i was to lazy to mix the sour cream directly into the taco seasoning), a layer of hand crushed tortilla chips, a layer of meat, layer of my home made cheese dip, little more tortilla chips, layer of meat, one more layer of cheese dip, and burrito roll that shit.
Edit: Usually with the meat, i use the liquid from the precanned diced green chilies& tomatoes (usually i use rotel hot), and sour cream over low heat (as to not curdle the sour cream) to mix in the taco seasoning. Take a bit of time to get it to thicken up but it is totally worth it in the long run.
I do think there should be a sequel that brings in more taco fillings. It'd probably need a much larger soft taco and breaking up the pieces smaller to fit all that blasphemy into one wrap but it's not a naco unless it makes you feel disgusting for eating it, the part that he _absolutely nailed._
Next time let's see you try something from any Ghibli movie. Or if you want the challenge of a lifetime, try anything from CHOWDER!!
